I think Johan's right, imagine if Muslims suddenly turned into atheists. A lot of their intolerance stems from the traditions of the religion itself. Hell, it pretty much goes for all religions. If these Muslims are to become more tolerant then Islam itself needs a radical change in view, because it's still very much traditionalist which Isn't a good thing.

I don't know man but muslims are the most tolerant people in the world. We live in a country that defames our creed, but we do not go around shooting people, but you have maybe one guy who is doing it but the rest just ignore the fool.
Islam judges all men as equal the parting line is faith. Very best friend and famous person in Islam and well respected even was a companion was a Black man.

Islam in the east is in medieval ages with no human rights or anything. That's where they brainwash young boys/girls and then they migrate to more developed countries, but do not adapt because they were taught that they are the best and everyone else needs to die.
Their religious teachings is the cause of intolerance. But I don't think they would be able to become atheists, they are too brainwashed now.
These kind of muslims should be deported, that would only cause good to civilized countries.

Btw, if you are born into a muslim family, then calling it a "choice" is a little extreme. Everyone get's conditioned during childhood, even more so in religious households, and it's incredibly hard to reverse this programming.

So far, over here in South America (Argentina) the muslim/arab community is really, _Really_ small; so small that I've *never* seen a woman wearing one of those head scarfs or whatever walking down the streets. I've never even heard of them making it to the local news... a very small community indeed.
But after reading the entire thread, I have to say that we suffer from something somehow similar around here; Bolivian, paraguayan and peruvian immigrants. Although they cause "smaller" problems in comparison (pestering people and turning decent cities into slums are their area of expertise, that and skyrocketing the local theft rates--where in many cases theft=death), I do agree that stricter immigration controls should be enforced.
Fun fact: Some of them even have aboriginal ascendancy which means it's very likely their belief system isn't catholic or christian, yet they don't go around trying to impose their own beliefs... but they can be just as troublesome as muslims in Europe.
So I sort of agree with Johan here, religion is one of the root causes.
