Good. A product should not be allowed to get away with being flawed just because it says "Valve" on the box.
The great thing is, the product isnt flawed. There is no game breaking day 1 dlc, the game is much longer than 4 hours long, and the only grain of truth you could apply to it being a console port is the saving thing. Did anyone read that rock paper shotgun article?
Everything in this world is flawed. To say something is not flawed is ignorance.
Let's not turn this into a philosophical argument, theres no need to be overly pedantic I was saying, the product isnt flawed in the way that many people are wrongly perceiving it to be By your logic though, all games are awful
I don't give a fuck.
MannCo-type business is fine. The concept of hats is fine; only some are controversial, weird and not exactly portrayed as such anymore. They are driven to make all the more "crazier" hats because people demand more. I'd be fine with more hats, even if they didn't differ that much from each other, they are just hats after all. Hats don't fit too well in Portal 2, especially selling them. It's only 2man co-op, showing your pal your hat.. how fun. In TF2, if only they kept doing class updates JUST LIKE BACK IN THE OLD DAYS, taking the time necessary, a cool blog post about new awesome sets of items for few classes, available through dropping and in MannCo Store! Plus bonus hats in Portal 2! Would work perfectly, would be just as profitable, and no one would have any reason to whine about hats for they are; HATS, nothing more than that. Fun gimmick along with the actual content for TF2, through online store OR dropping. Also Portal 2 sharing some hats. If only.
Portal was always fucking short!
It was also about four times cheaper than Portal 2.
Good. A product should not be allowed to get away with being flawed just because it says "Valve" on the box.
It isn't flawed. I have no idea what you people are on about.
Hey! Idiots bashing Portal 2! Hey! Don't forget that Valve is going to release a future SDK, that means, that you lazy ass motherfuckers can MAKE your own bloody content. That's what's so awesome about Valve, you don't NEED the skins, you don't NEED the cosmetic items, actually, if you're only gonna bash it, you don't NEED Portal 2! Unlike CoD, you need the mappacks to play with others, you need so much. But Valve, it's just like this: TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. /rant Thanks.
There's totally a correlation between cost and playtime because it's content and entertainment verses money. Why should the latest Call of Duty cost $60 for a four hour campaign when Mass Effect 2 costs the same and provides 25 or 30 hours of campaign entertainment? If a game is going to entertain me for less time, than it should cost less than games that entertain me for longer. Valve is selling out and releasing short games at full price while hitting you up for micro-transactions and DLC on top of that. The original Portal wasn't days long either, but it was released with the Orange Box, and available separately for something like $20. Why is it that Valve now feels they can deliver the same or less entertainment value, but for three times the price plus DLC?
What about the quality of entertainment, though? It's difficult to argue because it's very subjective but I believe we should be judging entirely on quality not time taken to finish it. How many hours of bad entertainment make an hour of good entertainment, for instance?
Good. A product should not be allowed to get away with being flawed just because it says "Valve" on the box.
Criticism of a product is different to telling a group of people to rate X badly when at least a significant minority haven't played it. I completely agree that games need more criticism: when developers can consider a score of 80% a failure we're doing something seriously wrong (not that scores should be that important no matter what they are) but this isn't legitimately telling people the game is flawed.
blackops is getting mod tools if you weren't aware, but obviously you wouldnt take it into account anyway because it's not valve
Wonder how much that costs.
blackops is getting mod tools if you weren't aware, but obviously you wouldnt take it into account anyway because it's not valve
You are really thick, aren't you? Ignorant, ignorant kids.
The article contains very insightful and valid points. Valve is becoming a money hungry pig now, regardless of the quality of their games.
blackops is getting mod tools if you weren't aware, but obviously you wouldnt take it into account anyway because it's not valve
Its been 7 months without mod tools for blops do you think Treyarch actually cares?
You need to take co-op into account as well. Yesterday I completed portal 1 in 1.8 hours, where as I completed everything in Portal 2 in around 12 hours. Even if you take into account that I've played portal 1 before it's still a high ratio, one that'd justify portal 2's price nicely.
Oh god, Optional features that I'm not forced to use! And it says not to turn off your console...like every other game. However I bet the story will be good, and I personally like the new ending song. It's another crowd of people complaining about nothing. I wonder if they'll do the same for Episode 3? [editline]19th April 2011[/editline] "Oh god we had to wait forever and the story is shit and the gameplay is too short. With the wait and price, I expected the second coming of Eli, but obviously not. This is another shit game by Valve. I think they're going downhill now too. Portal 2 and then THIS?!" ~Conception of an Episode 3 Review on Metacritic.
Score-5/10 Reason- Theres hats in it that you can buy if you want to How in the name of Lord Fuck does that make ANY god damn sense?
Portal 2 isn't a 4 hour game, /v/ made that up to troll.
Fucking fan-boys. I hope the portal franchise dies, its flawed beyond repair.
If I had the game I'd play it and probably love it. [editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
Fucking fan-boys. Out of curiousity, will the gestures be "unlockable"?
Out of curiousity, will the gestures be "unlockable"?
What about found in random drops? Can I trade these gestures with my friends?
Fucking fan-boys. I hope the portal franchise dies, its flawed beyond repair.
Fucking ignoracy. I hope the humanity franchise dies, its flawed beyond repair.
Yes I own it, it sucks monkey balls.
does anyone with the ps3 version know if you can use a keyboard & mouse?
Yes I own it, it sucks monkey balls.
Right, because you can't aim down the sight? Maybe Valve should release a map for $4.99?
No dunk-ass, the story is abrupt and filled with plot holes.
Out of curiousity, will the gestures be "unlockable"?
Well I've played like 4 levels in Co-op and I unlocked about 4 emotes.
No dunk-ass, the story is abrupt and filled with plot holes.
Elaborate.
Took me a good 9 hours. How the fuck are poeple doing it in 4?
