"hey we already have these cool gestures ready to go for Portal 2"
"should we include it in the game?"
"yeah, but make them pay extra for it"
"alrighty"
Still don't care.
As long as it doesn't affect my gameplay or my gaming experience, I'm OK with that.
Facepunch has its panties up in a bunch again due to 4chan. Somethings just never change.
Okay, well I'll talk to you haters of cosmetic items later. I think I'll go play some Team Fortress 2.
It's not like it has cosmetic items or anything...
Still don't care.

I'm okay with the idea of cool gestures too, but Valve should have at least waited a bit after implementing them, putting them in on release date makes people feel like they're not getting content that should have been included with the release of the game.

Didn't you read the blog post? It was snuck in!

"The “Robot Enrichment” option on the main menu transformed from doing nothing to opening up a page featuring the two little robots,"
sounds like it was already planned by the time of release
I have no intention of playing co op and I don't give a shit about the store. Basing my opinion solely on the singleplayer... I still thought portal 2 wasn't that great
It's funny that people are getting legitimately pissed off at little points that were just made up by people at /v/ so that they could use them to troll the metacritic scores.
No, people are pissed off because people that never played the game believe in these little points that were just made up by people at /v/.
best fucking story of 2011, amazing ending,
I'm OK with this too! It's optional, you can play and enjoy Portal 2 with default animations (Ba, I can survive with rocket paper scissors and taking my coop-friend's head off). 1,99 euros for an animation? If that price makes you mad, then you should notice that it's a luxury product, and it's actually <``cheap``>
HAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA GOOD JOKE MATE, GOOD JOKE.
Can't really see what's funny in this

ah now I see
while you were reading did you somehow click over page 10 or what
ok but anyways
first of all I feel like all these little things should've been included with the game, as I paid full-price for them. Yes, opinion, I know, but isn't this whole argument based on opinion?
I also feel like this is becoming some sort of trend that will be included in many of Valve's upcoming games - they're starting to get greedy
especially considering what Valve said back in 2008/2009 when they got fame for saying that they want to push for free DLC - what they're doing right now is being hypocritical
Lol, they are FAR from greedy. I can't name another company who would have a 75% off deal on their games frequently.
best fucking story of 2011, amazing ending,
Whoa whoa whoa man, 2011 isn't over yet. Lot of good games coming this year, that may be better than Portal 2.
There's your problem. Try enjoying the game, look around, discover nice little gimmicks!

That's what I read.
4 hours is short now? Maybe you should do something other than just games with your life?
[editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
Just saying...
Clearly my sarcasm was not noticed.
"Whats this? I need to pay MONEY for OPTIONAL items that DON'T AFFECT GAMEPLAY?"
0/10.
There are strings referring to Xbox Live and Xbox controls in TF2's files. TF2 is a console port.
Not to mention Every call of duty game since the 4th is only 5 hours long yet 40 million people will pay 60-70 dollars for it.

yeah like dnf
no really, I can't see any game beating Portal 2 story. It really shocked me that games can actually be amazing - after years of interactive movies with boring stories
Also it says a lot when a companion cube with this tune

[sp]made me hate a goddamn video game character (glados) for destroying it
but then after that easteregg with sentries playing bday tune and then Glados mhm-mhming it, I really don't know what to think anymore[/sp]

yes and facepunch is totally supportive of those practices

Yeah, it's not like Mass effect 3 is coming this year.
Oh wait.

How bout adding SP tags in the future.
There are strings referring to Xbox Live and Xbox controls in TF2's files. TF2 was a console port.
At release it may have been a console port, but the PC version of TF2 is a few years ahead of the console versions in terms of updates received. Consoles don't even have the pyro class update and only a fraction of the maps the PC version does.
Wait, portal 2's 50 bucks for the US?
Sucks to be you guys, 40 euros here. Finally you guys grab the short end of the stick for once.
What? It's 50€ here.
My thoughts about the store and what people are saying:
"Who CARES if Valve put a button that links to Goatse on the main screen of Portal 2? You don't have to click it, baby!"
While yes, you don't have to involve yourself with the store, it's still fucking there.
My thoughts about the store and what people are saying:

boohoo these pricetags of 1,99 euros
goddamn luxury products damn it valve
DLC is just a vehicle to ease higher development costs. It's not 1999 anymore guys, games cost a fuckton of money to produce these days, they gotta make up the extra money somehow. And if people give them extra money for hats or gestures, who cares? Now if it's something that actually affects the game, then you got a problem.

So you're annoyed because there's a 15*15 pixel button at the bottom of the screen that doesn't even say store?
boohoo these pricetags of 1,99 euros

Microtransactions have no place in a game like Portal 2. All cosmetic content should already be available for free. There's no reason that you should have to pay that much money for a virtual item.

This comparison is horrible.
Bitching about the store is stupid, but complaining about the shortness of the single player is completely acceptable, especially since Valve themselves said it would be much longer than Portal (when it really isn't)
