I don't think anybody will decide not to buy or play Portal 2 because of hats. Fuck, it's not even the addition of hats. It's the addition of microtransactions. Valve is selling out, and they can do that, because all of you are so far up their ass that you can't see anything wrong that they do.

I dislike the idea of the store as much as the next guy but the people saying it's "dlc that should be included with the game" are annoying me.
It's not maps we're talking about, it's hats. Sure the game might be a bit expensive for its length, but still. If it were maps, I would completely agree.

Then I would proceed to laugh at this strange act by Valve and proceed not to buy it, because I am not interested in this dog shit. They hear one person say it's 4 hours and suddenly they take it for granted. I doubt the average player can complete it within four hours. Then the DLC? It's barely even fucking DLC. That makes it sound like it's new content which actually matters, like an extension to the campaign. But it's not. It's fucking hats. Disregard the sheer quality and enjoyment of the game, there's the ability to buy some hats, 0/10. BAWWWW VALVE'S ADDED HATS YOU CAN BUY THEY'RE SELLING OUT NEXT THEYLL BE CHARGING 100 DOLLARS FOR ONE LEVERLLL!!!!! Grow the fuck up. It's the most trivial appearance of microtransaction I've seen, this doesn't affect my outlook on the game one bit. I don't care for hats, I don't buy them. Simple.

You sure? Soon enough they will start doing that way more aggressively and soon you will be able to buy a golden crowbar for gordon or some hats for alyx and buy a "key" to unlock the drop crates.
I ignored the DLC, the campaign was short so I felt a tad short changed, but I would be telling a lie if I said I didn't have an incredible amount of fun with what I had. And I've only beaten the single player campaign and haven't touched co-operative play yet.
At the end I did feel satisfied, more than that, the end was so cool and felt so badass that I can't say I didn't leave happy, despite the fact that I only started four hours prior.

Comparing games of this quality to some of the annual tripe EA puts out just because there's the ability to buy some hats is ridiculous.
Portal 2 is fucking incredible and you'd have to be soulless to not appreciate it's comedy. I laughed more in this game than most of my favourite comedies, which is definitely saying something because games never really make me laugh.
