Hate to derail here chaps, but is anyone else getting a steam error message saying the game is currently unavailable?
Portal 2 is awesome, in my opinion. Don't whine about content you wouldnt use anyways..
steam timer is borked there's no way you can finish portal two in under 5 hours
I beat it in just under 5 hours, and I wasn't rushing through it. Had to stop and think about a few of the chambers.
All the low user ratings on metacritic are from idiots on 7chan or whatever it was that decided to write false reviews (Why? Freaking idiots...). Anyone that finished Portal 2 in 4 or less hours is nuts, it's taken me 8 hours so far and i'm not even done yet, and that's going fairly fast through it. What i've played so far is one of the best games from Valve i've ever played. And the people complaing about DLC are being whiny crybabies. You don't HAVE to buy the DLC. It's just for the people that want to buy it. I hate the stupidity of people.
By 2020 non-indie PC games will consist of you buying the core game for £20, then buying the other 90% of the game in DLC each roughly equating to 1% for £5 each. Want the full game? It's gonna cost you dear. It was better in the past where you bought a full good game for a solid £30, then two expansion packs came out adding tons for £20 each, and half a dozen updates, patches, etc for free. Now they just take the expansion pack and turn it into its own game. Then they split them up and sell the chunks as DLC and quite often the updates and patches as well. Then again steam provides us with excellent deals where we get games for cheap. Like I got the paradox pack of £400 for just £30 during one of those deals, so we get bad and good.
It really seems to use available hardware efficiently, my GTX260 gets to 70 degrees with the fan reaching 93% while playing it (completely maxed), no other game has managed to work it that hard.
That's why Source=Win. [editline]20th April 2011[/editline]
ITT gamers remind the world once again that they are entitled babies
I'm not kidding. Hardcore gamers are the most hated group of gamers not because of how much content we want from a game for price ratio, but because we whine when we see something we don't like and start hanging up "THE END DAYS" signs like hobos on the side of the road.
I'm only on chapter 7 and I'm frankly speechless about how good Portal 2 is.

Why would people complain about optional content that doesn't change the gameplay whatsoever? I know it's been said. I'll say it again to reinforce the blockage on all this unnecessary bitching.
Why would people complain about optional content that doesn't change the gameplay whatsoever?
Its the Glorious PC Master Race speaking! All must bow before them because they know best!
stop posting and go play your wii
I have a PS3 and a gaming PC rig dipshit. Nice way to assume though.
Portal 2 deserves the GOTY award. And Valve doesn't deserve bad user reviews, not even for creating another in-game store that sells hats, taunts/moves/gestures and skins. :colbert: [editline]20th April 2011[/editline] the SP is what counts IMO
im still wondering tho you are all talking about some DLC. Can someone link me to it?
Its in the store, its cosmetic shit like hats and skins for your Coop bots.
im still wondering tho you are all talking about some DLC. Can someone link me to it?
By "DLC" they're referring to the stuff you can buy in the store - you throw money at them and they give you more stuff. In reality, they're micropayments, but whatever.
Its in the store, its cosmetic shit like hats and skins for your Coop bots.
thats not dlc
thats not dlc
They claim slippery slope scenario.
Why can't people shut up and enjoy what they got instead of finding every tiny little thing to complain about?

Move too quickly through games or are just good puzzle solvers? Honestly, what the fuck was I or anyone else that finished it in 5 hours supposed to do? Walk slower? When I found out the solution to a chamber or puzzle, I did it and moved on to the next chamber. If I saw a little cranny that looked interesting, I checked it out. People that finished it quickly weren't bunnyhopping through using exploits and ignoring the story. They just didn't get stuck on any of the puzzles for very long.
To be honest it felt like the game would've suffered if they made it longer. A game doesn't have to be 10-20 hours to enjoy it.
I think it was the perfect length. It would have dragged on if it was any longer - I was finding the [sp] Wheatley chambers really boring towards the end of them, and was really glad when he 'surprised' me. [/sp]
I thought the same thing, I was getting tired of generic chambers. I have no gripes with the length of the game. I just think it's stupid how people are all "hurr people that beat it in 5 hours or less rushed through it like idiots durr they shoulda taken 10 hours like I did." The pace of the game is determined by how smart you are, not how fast you want to beat it. I'm sorry for not getting stuck on puzzles.
Six hours of mindbending puzzles? Fuck that, excuse me while i play my TWENTY HOUR LONG rail-shooter!
Instead of saying things that have already been said a million times: I've paid 34€ for this game and it was worth every single cent
