I thought the same thing, I was getting tired of generic chambers. I have no gripes with the length of the game. I just think it's stupid how people are all "hurr people that beat it in 5 hours or less rushed through it like idiots durr they shoulda taken 10 hours like I did." The pace of the game is determined by how smart you are, not how fast you want to beat it. I'm sorry for not getting stuck on puzzles.
I have 9.9 hours of portal 2, with one full run of normal, one of co op, and around 2 hours of idle time(Forgot to quit the game :v: ) and I didn't get stuck on any of them, but mainly just looked for secrets errywhere.

If they beat it in 5 hours they obviously didn't "rush through it like idiots" and the pace of the game is obviously determined by how smart you are thus affects how fast you beat it. The game wasn't really that hard. I honestly think they could've done better, but hell im still waiting on EP3 :/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/42918/ this is a dlc http://store.steampowered.com/app/50147/ this is a dlc too portal 2 store isn't a dlc
It's an addition.
I beat it in just under 5 hours, and I wasn't rushing through it. Had to stop and think about a few of the chambers.

steam timer is borked there's no way you can finish portal two in under 5 hours

It's not a matter of brains, it's the matter of scarfing down an ice cream cone or taking your time and enjoying it.
I always enjoy my ice cream. And if it has Portals in it I enjoy it multiple times.

I beat it in about 6 and a half. And that's not running off of the Steam timer. I pulled an all-nighter and kept a close eye on the clock. Regardless, as has been said, I think the game's length was perfect for the storyline and the kind of game that it was. There are only so many uses of an Aperture Science Hard Light Bridge. If they extended the length of the game, it would have been stuffed full of filler and not nearly as appealing.
So its length is both its god send and its sin? Meanwhile at Valve Gabe-MOTHER FUCKA!

Did it take 7.5 hours for you to finish co-op mode, considering how smart you are? Edit: 10-14 hours seems quite common for people that have finished the game. Co-op mode takes like max 4 hours.
I'm going to start a "Keep our hands off hats" protest. They can't keep shitting up series like this! And as dedicated gamers, we should remind them what we pay them for: Quality games WITHOUT Dlc.
It wasn't, but it was presented as such
Downloadable content is downloadable content. The word content doesn't strictly fucking apply to map packs, weapons, and characters.
It's an addition.
I've heard the words dlc and expansion, but not addition
I dont really care about the hats being there but, i don't really see the point of hats in a 2 player coop game?, only 1 more person then yourself is ever gone see it. Especially because you are not gone play the singleplayer story line 100 times. The hats are even more useless then in TF2

The difference is: Magica: Vietnam is DLC because you download it and it adds content to your game. Hourse Armour is DLC because you download it and it adds content to your game. Portal 2 bot accessories are Microtransactions because the Content is already in your game and you don't download it when you buy it.
Once again, 2 little piss ant hats for your character isn't the same as additional gameplay with dialogue, quests, objectives, areas to explore, released right beside the game for an additional $10 on top of the $60 game I'm not arguing this fact anymore, anyone who gripes about Portal 2's little hat being DLC worth rating the game down on is a fucking moron
Downloadable content is downloadable content. The word content doesn't strictly fucking apply to map packs, weapons, and characters.
But downloadable is.
I don't give a shit about the store, it has nothing to do with the game its self. THE GAME IS FUCKING AWESOME.
The skins are very overpriced in my option, altough it's not the worst case I've ever seen ,5$ for a few stripes on a co-op bot could be a worse price-content measure than the map packs for call of duty for example, in my option. Atleast nobody forces me to buy them because I won't buy neither of them as they're bot overpriced as hell.
Well, Valve seemed like the best game company ever about 1 year ago. I'm not sure about now
Well, Valve seemed like the best game company ever about 1 year ago. I'm not sure about now
Uhh many posters have given quite good reasons why the complaints are bullshit throughout the thread.
I've bad mouthed Valve for ages about how they ruined Team Fortress, how they crapped out L4D2 and for how Half-Life 2 is horrendously over-rated.
How fucking dare they make a game that gets good scores? Bunch of lazy assholes. I think it's ridiculous how they released this with all the stupid hats and whatnot, but worth the money for the fun and long singleplayer, and I'm guessing decent multiplayer, since I've not tried that yet.
Uhh many posters have given quite good reasons why the complaints are bullshit throughout the thread.
Am I supposed to agree with them? Sorry, opinions are forbidden, forgot that
Am I supposed to agree with them? Sorry, opinions are forbidden, forgot that
Opinions are debunked when they're shown as fact* or used to further in argument that has a lack of facts*. *Not everyone is guilty of this.
I've called Valve a fag, what more can I do?
What the hell? Why is the DLC even an issue? Nobody is forcing them to buy it.
Indeed, and it in no way affects gameplay. They're only cosmetic. If they were maps or better portalguns or something like that, then i'd understand all the whining. Oh and the singleplayer took my friend 8 hours, and me 7 hours. Co-op about 4-5. And the singleplayer was FUCKING AMAZING. I feel like the game is worth every penny i paid for it. Just can't wait to get my hands on the SDK and some new custom chambers to play with friends :buddy: Altho, i really wanted harder challenges aswell.
Generally since the website is full of people who were brought here because they played a mod of a valve game, all buy a large number of games via steam and the such they tend to be more pro-valve than others. Hence it is a bit like when Civ 5 or Empire: Total war came out, there were people in both bitching about flaws in the game and on the other side who defended the game. The trend was that sites owned or closely related the game makers tended to be pro and the others (Like fansites for example) were against it. These sort of things always happen with a hugely hyped up game anyways.

It lived up to the hype what are you talking about
