vote with ur money people
I didn't buy the game and I don't intend to buy it or pirate it. Voting with your wallet if definitely the only way.
4 hour game for $50 and valve try to milk it with release day dlc
Why are you even complaining you don't even have it lol.
its a damn good 4 hours but thats still a fucking rip
How do you know it's only 4 hours and how do you know it's good either. It looks like you're just bashing Portal 2 for the sake of bashing Portal 2.

VALVe make 1 game every 2-3 years, so outside of steam, they don't make as much as other devs. They have the right to sell OPTIONAL, NON-GAMEPLAY CHANGING ITEMS if people want them. You aren't being forced to buy them and they will probably add a way to get them for free like in TF2 soon enough.
Nobody's forcing anyone to buy anything.
if this were any other dev u guys wouldnt be defendin it so fervently grow up
I didn't give a shit when Blizzard started selling mounts for WoW (and that even gave a slight advantage), and I don't shit about this. The shortness is a valid point, but I guess that's what challenge and co-op modes are for.
Hahah what? I don't care how balanced is. I paid for my game, I don't want to pay for additional shit later, especially if it changes gameplay in a way that puts me at a disadvantage if I don't buy it. When you get a film on DVD they don't release an optional extra scene on release day that fills in an extra part of the storyline that you have to pay for do they? No. I don't understand why people think it's okay for the video game artform to be slowly more and more horribly commercialised to the point where even previously 'white knight'-esque developers/publishers like Valve, who are incredible rich as it is, feel they can't release a game without lazy, over-priced DLC.
You have gotten fucking free weapons and updates for how fucking long?! The game has paid for itself time and time again and yet you want more free shit. The weapons you buy at the store don't give you an epic advantage over others. I've never bought any of the weapons at the store and can still kick some ass when I'm playing right.
ive seen an entire playthrough of the singleplayer game
ive seen an entire playthrough of the singleplayer game it doesnt look like somethin id spend 50$ on
What about the co-op?
ive seen an entire playthrough of the singleplayer game it doesnt look like somethin id spend 50$ on
Okay we got that from your first 5 posts thanks.

Any competent studio could have had episode 3 out by now and it would be just as good as when valve releases it. DNF trailers and videos have shown more time =/= always better game.
ive seen an entire playthrough of the singleplayer game it doesnt look like somethin id spend 50$ on
So don't?
What about the co-op?
havent seen that yet [editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
So don't?
that was in response to john_frohman saying i dont have the game it wasnt another attempt to bash it
Valve can fuck up, too. I'm glad I just tried it with a friend, I would be slamming my head against a wall for hours if I shelled out 45 bucks for that piece of shit.

But spending just 2 years on a game doesn't mean its adequate. And Any competent studio would choose to take 3 to 4 years instead of rushing out a game.
ive seen an entire playthrough of the singleplayer game it doesnt look like somethin id spend 50$ on
I spent $35 because I preordered from amazon. Also are you people forgetting that the coop is just as much a part of the game as the singleplayer? It adds a few good hours to the overall time as well.
What about the co-op?
Wouldn't matter because he'd need a friend to play it with :P.
Okay we got that from your first 5 posts thanks.
ok sorry ill shut up until my opinion becomes the same as urs lmao
Yes, it's only a few pixels, but its about the mentality behind the implementation. Yes it's only a few pixels, but it's still the same, "HEy let's charge for DLC" mentality that other game developers and publishers have and consequently been hated for. I think that's why so much people dislike Valve now, because they have the cheek to do it, even on a minor scale. If they start charging for minor DLC like this, what stopping them from moving on eventually to content packs. But hey, it's their game and their marketing plans, they can do whatever they want.
I understand what you mean, but I'm pretty sure the reason that game devs and publishers are hated for dlc is that the dlc affects the gameplay, or limit your experiences (extra maps, weapons i.e.). I couldn't care less if they added new skins for weapons, or characters. Yes, that is still optional but it puts normal players at a disadvantage or limits their gameplay whereas cosmetic items are just for showing off. This is just my opinion though, but I can't see why you could hate developers (not only Valve) for cosmetic items.

According to PC Gamer, the co-op adds another four hours roughly.
So they turn out a game with a 4-hour campaign, a full price tag, and are already hawking DLC that should have been included anyway. When did Valve turn into EA?
ok sorry ill shut up until my opinion becomes the same as urs lmao
You are so cool and edgy one day I hope to be like you. It takes 1, 2 posts max to state a stupid opinion like the one you keep forcing on us. You aren't taking the arguments we provide in, you just go "NO ITS SHORT I WON'T PAY THAT MUCH ITS SHORT" every other post.
You have to be one of the worst gold members I've met.
being a gold member doesnt make ur posts any better dude
Haha what? I feel that this is the best hat simulator that Valve have created to date. In TF2, hats were obtainable in-game and thus any old commoner could get their hands on them. Now, the true gaming elite can quickly identify their kind in a co-op game and immediately remove undesirables. I have a system in place where I make my co-op partner do a dance containing every single gesture available for download. A single mistake and they are booted. I urge you all to go out and purchase this game immediately. Buy the gestures straight away - there is no greater feeling that meeting another member of the glorious DLC elite and dancing the night away with them. After all - you're not poor are you?…
