i was gonna come in here and complain about how stupid people are to hate a game just because of a store
but then i saw how short the game actually was...
they are actually absolutely right to be angry about this because this was massively hyped to be a "big" version of portal and the price is definitely not indicative of that.
if portal 2 was 10$ it would be far far more reasonable.
or maybe it's not that long and i'm just talking out of my arse, which is likely.
Also, for Australians, it's already $55 less then what we'd usually have to pay.
Haha what?
I feel that this is the best hat simulator that Valve have created to date. In TF2, hats were obtainable in-game and thus any old commoner could get their hands on them. Now, the true gaming elite can quickly identify their kind in a co-op game and immediately remove undesirables. I have a system in place where I make my co-op partner do a dance containing every single gesture available for download. A single mistake and they are booted. I urge you all to go out and purchase this game immediately. Buy the gestures straight away - there is no greater feeling that meeting another member of the glorious DLC elite and dancing the night away with them. After all - you're not poor are you?…
Yah I busted a rib when I saw that.
So I'm probably heavily biased due to that.
-blank quote about campaign-
I don't get what the point of this post was...
Yeah I kinda laughed when I stumbled across the Portal 2 online store. :v:
But then again wtf people are whining for? TF2 has online store, and it's profitable, and now that Portal 2 has an online game to some extent, why not an online store?
Also, no ones forcing you to buy that shit. I at least won't, didn't buy anything from TF2 online store either.
But are those robot hats droppable or something, through achievements?
Valve is turning to DLC just as every other god damned company is..
Not necessarily bad, some would call it "yeah cool, its not expensive anyway" but I don't like this DLC approach at ALL!
RockPaperShotgun Posted an article responding to this

RPS also posted a satire article about the Crysis 2 visuals even though it's obvious they are worse than the original. Their articles mean nothing.
It's been 3-4 years. Guess what? Not even a single teaser or in game screenshot.
You're missing my point completely. They might've not even started work on it for christ's sake. Everyone keeps begging for Episode 3 but if I were Valve, I'd be tired of Gordon by now. Its the same god damn question everyone asks them. They can't ask them about anything else. I could see why they're not releasing anything.
How the fuck are people saying it's 4 hours long? Yeah, if you just rushed trough the whole game and knew exactly how to complete all of the puzzles then yeah, you might finish it in 4 hours, but why would you do that on your first playtrough? I was playing it without rushing, without taking too long to complete most puzzles and it took me about 6 hours.

Then they should make EP3 and end the series if they want to end it for fucks sake.
The Metacritic user score has always been a cesspool of trolls and some sort of anger venting mechanism because the developers didn't suck your dick while you played the game. I avoid it like the plague.

Maybe they should make Alyx die unless you pay for the good ending DLC.
Portal 2 kicked my dog, I want my money back.
You're a dumbass if you finish in 4 hours. I mean you can finish HL2 in like 3 or 4 hours if you really want to but where's the fun
You have gotten fucking free weapons and updates for how fucking long?! The game has paid for itself time and time again and yet you want more free shit. The weapons you buy at the store don't give you an epic advantage over others. I've never bought any of the weapons at the store and can still kick some ass when I'm playing right.
I don't want any free shit. I want the game I paid for. I never asked for or felt it was necessary that they put all the extra shit in TF2, free or not - it over-complicated a game that was essentially perfectly simple.
VALVe make 1 game every 2-3 years, so outside of steam, they don't make as much as other devs. They have the right to sell OPTIONAL, NON-GAMEPLAY CHANGING ITEMS if people want them. You aren't being forced to buy them and they will probably add a way to get them for free like in TF2 soon enough.
There is already a hat that you get after completing the singleplayer, i think.
the cow still has milk left keep milking it !!!!
Aka Cash cow

And why would they listen to you ?

I don't think you understand what a game development business is there buddy.
And why would they listen to you ?
Because he isn't the only one with that opinion.
facepunch ->:a2m:<- valve

u dont just end ur best selling series because you dont find working on it fun dumbass

.........so you are completely against the class updates? And its not overly completely.
I'll wait till the summer sale or something
It's because of Valve's company image among gamers that is causing this backlash.
Everyone thinks of Valve as the white knight of PC Gaming, pushing for free content, making stellar games with innovation and little disappointment.
But now Valve has succumbed into the same money-grabbing schemes like other notorious companies. They released the PotatoSack ARG, convincing gamers to buy the bundle of games to help Portal 2 a little earlier. However, as we all know, it was a mere few hours difference. I can't help but feel that if I had bought the bundle and have participated ; I would've been pretty let down.
Now from what I've heard, the single player campaign is pretty short ; only 5 or 6 hours long at best. For any other gaming company, it would have been disappointing, but slightly more acceptable because of the lack of reputation for being a stellar company.
But now, we also find out that there is additional DLC. Yes, it is optional, but it still enforces the image that Valve is fast becoming a cheap, money-grabbing company.
It's like finding out Santa isn't real.
I think the backlash isn't about Portal 2 ; it's about Valve letting people down in their high expectations.
(Yes, I understand the DLC's is optional and mere pixels, I agree that the additional DLC is worthless and makes no difference to the main gameplay, whoever buys or thinks that it actually gives an advantage is an idiot, and the bundle is a deal for the games inside as well, but yeah, I think this covers what the whiners are whining about.)
There is already a hat that you get after completing the singleplayer, i think.
Yeah, and a flag. Not sure if there is anything for 100% Achievement Completion, not done with that yet.
Valve can fuck up, too. I'm glad I just tried it with a friend, I would be slamming my head against a wall for hours if I shelled out 45 bucks for that piece of shit.
A game is bad because I suck :downs:
u dont just end ur best selling series because you dont find working on it fun dumbass
When you have no idea on how to continue and people constantly berating you what you're going to do next and conspiracy theories about the Gman appearing in every nook and cranny of everything valve related, I'd think you would want to move on.
.........so you are completely against the class updates?
Yes.
