The one thing I want know, is that why Valve has never mentioned that the Store would be going to Portal 2.
because they know itd be bad press and why itd be bad press
would you be saying this if it was activision doin this?
No, because the maps they make actually change the multiplayer; you have to buy them to play matches without the threat of disconnecting.
would you be saying this if it was activision doin this?
Activision sell map packs essential to online player after a day or so of them being out for £15+, VALVe sell hats for people who like them for a few £ and they never become essential.
There's a difference between a map pack and bunch of fucking skins you idiot!
where did i mention a map pack?
There's a lot of people who feel the same about TF2.
Take this as an analogy - you go to a restaurant, you order food, you get the food, you're eating it, then the chef runs in, takes a dump on the food and says "IT'S A FREE UPDATE THAT ADDS STUFF YOU CAN'T COMPLAIN" and goes away. Are you just gonna sit there and go "oh well I'll eat it anyway"?
that's a bad analogy.

The analogy doesn't work because you obviously have a skew to hating the class updates hence "taking a dump" so I won't answer your question because its a stupid one at that.
I forgot you were there in the room with us, sir :downs: We listened to all of the dialogue we could and spent time looking for easter eggs, we didn't just run through it. Still wasn't worth the full price to either of us, I'm glad I'm the one who didn't piss away money on it.
I didn't buy it yet because I don't have the money currently. All my friends that have played it say its great and I'm going to go by their opinion and buy it. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean its a shitty game.
Activision sell map packs essential to online player after a day or so of them being out for £15+, VALVe sell hats for people who like them for a few £ and they never become essential.
Your name contradicts your behaviour
im asking if it was a company like activision doing this store bullshit would you still be defendin it with such hilarious zealotry??
would you be saying this if it was activision doin this?
if Activision opened a store where you could buy weapon camos, different models, character skins etc, I couldn't care less. Same as with any other developer. What makes me mad is overpriced dlc which limits your gameplay. Take a look at Oblivion, that dlc adds several hours of gameplay. That is dlc done the right way in my opinion.
........So this is all about money. Not the fact you can't enjoy the game anymore because its "overcomplicated" but because they somehow made it not fun for you. So this makes the entire company shitty just because of a small group of people who can't get over themselves can no longer play :v:?
What?
You should really draft your posts more than once because the syntax is fucking horrendous and I can't understand what point you're trying to make. I'll attempt to decipher though.
So you think it is acceptable that the product I bought under the understanding that it was something I would enjoy, and did enjoy, was changed to the point where I can no longer happily use the product? How the fuck is that okay?
That's like buying a toaster and then when it turns into an overly elaborate and complicated grilling machine that no longer simply toasts bread, you just suck it up and accept it.
How is that logical or fair? If they wanted to make an overly-complex version of Team Fortress then they should have made a shitty sequel so that I could still play the TF2 that I bought.
im asking if it was a company like activision doing this store bullshit would you still be defendin it with such hilarious zealotry??
Probably not because Activision would be making us pay 15 bucks for a skin, not 2 to 3 pounds.

No more like he shits on a small plate and adds it NEXT to your food. You don't have to eat it, its just there. Don't like it, fucking ignore it.
stop with the analogies that don't make sense
where did i mention a map pack?
Ah, fair enough. I would not be saying the same things, no, because the game itself would be good enough to redeem activision's status as a good game producer.
The analogy doesn't work because you obviously have a skew to hating the class updates hence "taking a dump" so I won't answer your question because its a stupid one at that.
Well, to some people, the stuff they added were like taking a dump on the game, since they made the game less enjoyable for them. I mean, you could say that some people will enjoy the shit the chef took on the food, but does that still mean no one can complain about it?
What?

How was it over complicated!? That's what I want to know.

Valve has the right to do whatever they want to their games, it's in the EULA. I agree that tf2 went to shit but that's just being silly.
Well, to some people, the stuff they added were like taking a dump on the game, since they made the game less enjoyable for them. So would it be better to make the updates optional and then give those that accept the dump an advantage? No one is forcing you to use the stuff. You can still use the vanilla weapons and do really well in the game. There is no over complication.
Indeed, Valve is acting weird...
They either NEED money (See: EP3/HL3?) or they just WANT more money, which imo started with the MannConomy update for TF2, before that Valve had gained lotsa appreciation through free class updates/maps/hats/meet-the-videos and other acts of kindness, whatever.
But it seems to me that now they are pushing their limits, so to speak.
You don't have to buy the items in Portal 2, that is true, BUT If it turns out profitable, and I mean profitable enough, then what reason does Valve have not to benefit off of DLC in their games, that still doesn't affect gameplay, not that much at least, not yet.
It's up to us consumers in the end I think. In TF2 we witnessed something like this; Ever since MannCo updates, every "class update" is just a few random hats/weapons added to the store and dropping.
No more like he shits on a small plate and adds it NEXT to your food. You don't have to eat it, its just there. Don't like it, fucking ignore it.
We're not talking about the hats in Portal 2 here. You can't ignore added new weapons when everyone is using them and it just makes it much harder to actually play the game if you can't use them yourself.

how can he force the people playin on his server not to use it
How was it over complicated!? That's what I want to know.
It used to be about the classes, the weapons they came with and you just played with that and it was simple, balanced and it worked.
There's so much shit going on when I try and play it now that it is no longer a "jump in and have fun" game. I don't even know what half the weapons in the game do anymore.
Case in point: the building weapons crap. I paid for TF2, not WoW.

Uhh, random drops? It might be tempting but no matter how much it is, no-one is FORCING you to buy them.
how can he force the people playin on his server not to use it
That's my point. The class updates had to be forced to keep the game balanced and fair.
I respect their right to do whatever the hell they want with their product and intellectual property but it doesn't mean I have to enjoy it when they ruin the game I was having fun playing.

I can see what you mean. I dont really like the new weapon stuff either, but its still a nice addition. It adds a reason to continue playing, but not paying.
HAHAHAH RHYMING.
