I forget who said it on Facepunch, but best thing I ever heard: "The Republicans are just waiting for one moderately sane candidate to come in and split the sea of stupid like freakin' Moses."
Draft Bill Haslam.
I think the joke is how can the guy who claims Obama is a Kenyan explain how he is not a canadian
Except Ted Cruz was 100% American from birth and never denied he was born in Canada. The reason the whole birth certificate thing with Obama took off was because he does have a large family that is indeed Kenyan. The rest just conveniently fell into place because his opponents ran with it and it took him awhile to release a birth certificate which fueled the fire. It should also be reminded that the birther thing originated by Hillary supporting emails among her supporters. Though there's no evidence Hilary had anything to do with it. Hilary and Obama were fierce competitors and the birther thing was a result of that. Perhaps brilliantly engineered to be picked up by right wingers. However, Obamas mother is American. So even if Obama was born in Kenya from a Kenyan family, his mother is American so Obama would've been born 100% American under the same loophole as Ted Cruz. So it's stupid anyway. [editline]2nd August 2015[/editline] Unless you want to go full Jesse Ventura level Conspiracy and say both Obamas parents were Kenyan and his known mother is a cover!

Of course that's the explanation my father is always going on and on about, because I doubt the government would actually allow someone who is no longer a legal citizen to even become senator, let alone president.

Neither can PolitiFact: http://www.politifact.com/texas/article/2015/apr/02/pants-fire-bestowed-facebook-meme-about-ted-cruz-b/
With Fox News officially hosting Republican primaries and outright being part of the Republican party, are there any licenses that can be revoked? It can't be considered a news channel anymore, it's literally just a propaganda station.
With Fox News officially hosting Republican primaries and outright being part of the Republican party, are there any licenses that can be revoked?
I wasn't aware Ted Cruz himself was part of the birther movement, is it really?
Wikipedia has a list of the birther proponents: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_citizenship_conspiracy_theories#Campaigners_and_proponents Ted Cruz nor the majority of Republican candidates are on it. It's pretty much a fringe tea party/far right thing and I think it's mostly died down by now. It would be stupid of Ted to ever question it given he's in the same boat. Ted's even got his own birther thing to deal with from the same group of crazies: http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2015/03/24/ted-cruz-inherits-birthers-with-presidential-bid Other candidates that weren't born in the US: Mitt Romney, John McCain. Hell, there's even controversy on whether or not President Chester A Arthur was a Canadian.
With Fox News officially hosting Republican primaries and outright being part of the Republican party, are there any licenses that can be revoked? http://www.2016presidentialdebateschedule.com/2016-debate-schedule/2016-republican-primary-debate-schedule/
The Republican National Committee announced the 2015-2016 debate schedule on January 16, 2015. It revealed that only 12 debates would be held, in a stark contrast to the 27 debates and forums that were held from 2011 to 2012. The announcement included which news organizations would host each debate, with Fox News and CNN having three each; and one each for ABC, CBS, NBC, CNBC, Fox Business Network, and a conservative media outlet to be announced. The first debate will be Thursday, August 6, 2015, one debate will follow per month until February, when three are scheduled, and March, when two are scheduled
The Democratic debate hosts are still TBA. Could have swore CNN was hosting the Democrats for one
Does this mean Fox technically has 4 debates?
With the inclusion of Fox Business Network it might as well be. However, I'm not sure if FBN is included in the same TV packages as FNC. It might be something you have to ask for separately.
With Fox News officially hosting Republican primaries and outright being part of the Republican party, are there any licenses that can be revoked? Don't be so over dramatic.
Can't see why the "lesser" GOP candidates can't go looking for another news network to host their own debate.
Can't see why the "lesser" GOP candidates can't go looking for another news network to host their own debate.
They're not allowed to. If they partake in a debate that isn't sanctioned by the RNC, then they are taken out of the race.
Can't see why the "lesser" GOP candidates can't go looking for another news network to host their own debate.
The ones that don't get into the big debate go on a televised "forum" so it's not a huge loss unless your campaign funds are running on fumes. I think if I was a Republican candidate I'd put my campaign spending in hibernation and just throw out tweets about how Trump would make an awful president in hopes he fires back and gives me free exposure. I wouldn't worry about making the debates until there's less than 10 people left.
They're not allowed to. If they partake in a debate that isn't sanctioned by the RNC, then they are taken out of the race.
Well, they aren't taken out of the race. What the RNC does is they won't invite them to any of the other sanctioned debates. They want to keep the number limited to prevent the train wreck that was 2012's debates.
tl;dr, a cable news network is going to ruin the GOP's shot at winning the presidency in 2016
Nah, they can ruin their own shot just by being themselves.
