Obviously you must be the retard here, I never put a negative connotation on liberal at all, so who really has the persecution complex here?

Politically intolerant liberal band wagoner
persecution complex + bandwagon fallacy + attaching a negative connotation to liberal I can tell that you're an alt of someone. you should know better that FP is hardly liberal. it's like 50/50.
The bill is to prevent rape, small print is sort of null at this point. and there is enough holes in this post to sink an aircraft carrier.
Laws don't prevent rape. There is already a law against rape in the US, but rape still happens. Murder still happens, people still smoke weed, people still speed down the highway. Laws don't do shit to prevent anything. I do agree however, that there should be some form of consequence for raping someone. But most of the time the threat of consequences doesn't stop anyone from doing anything.
sam tilgan? [editline]05:24PM[/editline]
Laws don't prevent rape. There is already a law against rape in the US, but rape still happens.
Native Americans.
Is Neil Armstrong a Native Lunan?
Possibly Sam, but I think that KMM guy was Sam and unless he created an alt before he was banned, it is very unlikely. [editline]07:14PM[/editline]
Is Neil Armstrong a Native Lunan?
Nobody or thing is because no life (that we know of) existed on it before we traveled there.
I want to hear the explanation, no way is this the full story
How do we know there wasn't some ridiculous rider on the bill? Without knowing why they voted against it, we have no grounds to ridicule them. Good job hopping on the :bandwagon: , most of you.
Eh, I wouldn't hold it past the repubs. I wanna see they're reasoning though.
Eh, I wouldn't hold it past the repubs.
I would. Seriously I've never seen them be so blatant as "I want indians to be raped" There has to be an explanation. It will probably be a dumb one, but at least it will be an explanation.
I wouldn't know how to get it.
Yeah there's got to be more to this than "It prevents people from getting away with rape". I don't know if the sources are biased or what but surely there's some reason here.
there probably is [editline]05:45PM[/editline] I hope there is
Yet again, 100% of facepunch has no clue about Politics. Read the damn bill, it's like the Arizona bill. The Arizona bill was PERFECTLY FINE if you actually fucking read it. It was the cops that were abusing their power. [editline]11:36AM[/editline] Typical idiot who has no sense in politics.
If you vote for a law that enables racist cops (I'm guessing there are a lot of them in Arizona) to abuse their power you're an idiot.

Native tribal courts are stupid, Aboriginals should abide by the same laws and be subject to the same legal system as everyone else. Non-native Rapists should just be dealt with by the normal courts, case closed. Just because the Republicans were against tribal courts doesn't make them for rape. That is an insane twisting of words and dropping of context.
Native tribal courts are stupid, Aboriginals should abide by the same laws and be subject to the same legal system as everyone else.
They don't in Canada [editline]06:48PM[/editline]
:colbert:
it's not impossible
:colbert:
It isn't like all of them are perfect do-gooders, there has to be a few, if not many bad eggs and that's the problem most people have with the bill.
The bill is to prevent rape, small print is sort of null at this point. and there is enough holes in this post to sink an aircraft carrier.
You need to start asking questions though, just because the bill is to aid in convicting rapists doesn't mean that what it proposes is automatically good. Yes the motive is good, but the whole method about it may be disagreed upon. Just to make a comparison, it's like a piece of legislation that's purpose is to reduce teen pregnancy through education. Now the motive is really good, but if you find out that the bill is going to do so through abstinence only education you'll object to it. I could slant it and say that you voted against a law that would reduce teen pregnancy, but there is more to it than that. I'm not saying that this is the case here, but my point is you can't just assume that a bill is good based on its purpose. I have only been able to find one quote from someone who voted nay and they said it was because it went from 4 pages to over 100 and because it would cost 6 billion as opposed to the 0 dollars the bill initially would cost.

in whose favor?
in whose favor?
FP is really like 50/50 or 55/45 the conservatives always like to pull the persecution complex card when they don't have a real argument
there you go again leave it to retards like you to attach a negative connotation to liberal how dare people fight for individual rights and equality. only straight white christians should have rights. praise the lord.
What.
What.
individual/liberal not sure what you're coming at.
See, when dicks like them do this crap it makes the rest of us look bad.
individual/liberal not sure what you're coming at.
Liberals usually fight for community over the individual, where as conservatives are for the individual over the community.
:pedo:
Liberals usually fight for community over the individual, where as conservatives are for the individual over the community.
That's a really narrow definition and only touches on the economic side of things. Socially speaking, liberals are more open to personal liberties since modern conservatives seem to take an authoritarian approach to government. (In the name of "family values")

Title is wrong. This law wouldn't necessarily stop rape, it just makes it easier for the natives to prosecute rapists in their own land. If we didn't have shitty useless reservations for a dying string of people we wouldn't have problems. If these rapes were taking place in normal US they would be prosecuted just like any one else. What a stupid bill. Even their own law enforcement which they pay for in casino money can only imprison their own for up to a year. What a backwards place.
I'm only speaking in the terms that PhortyTwo was trying to say.
he was being pretty vague
