They're already making a movie about the missing plane.
Despite production on one MH370-related film being delayed, another already has been continuing on, and has just released a trailer. Yes, filmmakers in Cannes have been working on the film The Vanishing Act: The Untold Story of the Missing Malaysian Plane. Now, you might reasonably wonder why such a movie is coming out before the missing plane has actually been found.
Indian director Rupesh Paul explained, “The movie is based on an investigative report by a journalist which was rejected by the media so it is definitely controversial. The movie will answer two questions: one is what went wrong with MH370 and where is MH370 on this earth?”
The trailer for the movie uses actual, real-world footage, mixed in with scenes of drama, suspense, and horror from inside the plane itself.
Paul acknowledges the controversy he’s inviting by doing the movie at all, but remains confident the families of the missing won’t be too hurt by the film, which features fictionalized people on the plane as opposed to the actual people who were on the plane.
Oh boy, I can already see where this will go...
Couldn't you just watch CNN for 2 hours?
the families of the missing won’t be too hurt by the film
this is a bad idea
Why was such a fuss made over MH370 when ships and planes go missing all the time in places like the Bermuda triangle?
dang i wish i had the lack of humanity required to profit off people's misery.
Too soon, the movie.

Because they don't.
This movie better make a vanishing act too.
I'd be so depressed if I was one of the families affected and I read this news. But will it be as bad a movie as "God's not dead" ?
Atleast filmmakers waited a little while after the event to make that Bin Laden "Zero Dark Thirty" movie

Riiiight.
It wouldn't be a tragedy without someone trying to profit from it.
I couldn't imagine a full length movie about this. A plane crash lands, "ahhhhhhhhhhhh" *splash*. For the next hour and 45 minutes a camera slowly zooms and pans the ocean looking for the plane, and the screen fades to black. "The plane was lost forever. The end" 10/10 movie

"It was a great art piece since it challenged our perception of what an artful movie can be. Sometimes, nothing can be something!" ~ Generic Film Critic

I opened this thread with the intention of telling everyone they already made this movie, it came out years ago. But you beat me too it.
will they be tapping sindri as the technical consultant?

There is a brief shot of someone holding a gun in the trailer, suggesting they're going with some kind of hijacking storyline.
I wonder what the ending is like

But... what if MH370 is not on this Earth! ~Dramatic plot twist~

12/10 if its narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Oh god
"The Untold Story"
It was told every day for hours for like two months after the disappearance

Because this is Earth, not the god damn twilight zone.
Director has apologized for ridiculous love-triangle in the trailer:

In case you missed this scene from the trailer.
Should have been a sequel to this monstrosity:

Jesus christ. Has every Stephen's King short story got a movie adaptation? I read this one some time ago, and while I enjoyed it I just can't imagine it being a movie material.

If I'm correct Zero Dark Thirty was being made before they even killed Bin Laden.
"Did that plane crash...Or was it hijacked? Forced down by something less than a man; Something bred to sleep-walk through life until activated by a phrase, spoken from his kindly master..."

Fun fact: in the 80s, when it was still profitable to do Stephen King adaptations, he pretty much sold the rights to every story he wrote because he could use that royalty money to pay for all the cocaine he was doing.
