This is a really bad idea. Too easy for Big Brotheresque abuse on the government's part.
As stated above with the drug dealer example.
And not just illegal transactions will be affected. How will you borrow your friend money? How will you make a friendly wager on a sports game or other competition? What if you want to give money as a gift?

What if your friend is buying something and is short a few cents, you can't just hand him a couple quarters if there is no money.

But you can split the payment easily enough. I do it at work all the time.
Money is also very dirty so this would get rid of some sort of health hazard surely? The credit card would be in your wallet/purse and your own hands. Not passed through hundreds of others peoples hands.
I'd feel better if I had a fat stack of physical cash sitting in my safe than numbers on a server that could be lost/stolen...
I'm worried about the homeless though. What in the hell are they going to survive on?
I'll stick to gold, thanks though.

I'm sure they'll be able to get a couple bytes of something.

hunting and gathering. This is a country with the population density of the moon.
But I feel so manly paying stuff with cash, don't remove my last amount of manliness I have!
God damn it, I hope Denmark doesn't do this too. At the moment I get paid in cash, I don't even have a bank account here in this country.
BUT WHY
I LIKE CASH
What if you're underage? How will you pay for everything considering banks don't give out debit cards until you're 18?
I got a debit card at 15. Anyway, the obvious solution is to give them out earlier.
or we could continue to use physical currency, which has posed very few problems throughout the past thousands of years. I know more victims of credit card theft than I know mugging victims.
Now sweeds will trade blowjobs for illegal goods.
Best economy ever.

nobody liked you anyway (especially since you killed battlefield)
It scares me that people are so willing to have every transaction of their lives stored on bank and/or government servers until the end of time, free for any government agent or hacker to peruse.
People are stupid and want everything quick and easy.
Do you want a vision of the future? Imagine being forced to swipe a debit card, repeatedly, forever. :v:
I wouldn't want to give anyone the ability to track all my payments.
I wouldn't want to give anyone the ability to track all my payments.
I guess you should stop buying shit and go live in the mountains then.

Cash is always more convenient for me. I'll always know how much I have left, but when paying with a card I need to check my account balance before I buy anything.
And cash can't be tracked, of course.

Oh well. At least we still have unthreatened freedom of speech, free healthcare (incl. dental), beautiful landscapes, a clean environment, pretty inhabitants, and our national debt isn't sky high.

This must be some sort of swedish sorcery
This must be some sort of swedish sorcery
I think it depends on what you work as, but my dad drives a truck filled with peanuts all day and he has free dental, so I'm not sure how picky they are.

Why did I think that the title meant they were going bankrupt?
