• Sweden to Go Cashless?

How does kids spend money if they're going cashless? Pretty sure you get your first debit card when you're 15 or 16.
It's only natural for people to use electronic methods of payment more and more but completely wiping out this (what turns to be a) backup currency is not a good idea.
I'm cool with this. The difference somewhat appeared to me a few weeks ago when I went to Germany (Soltau/Hannover). We were eating at this restaurant, fully prepared to pay with cards because hey, all restaurants at home got card readers. But when we were about to pay, the waiter told us they didn't take cards. Luckily I had cash enough to pay for us all that night.

Nothing says this won't bring anything new to "counter act" the negative side effects of removing physical money.
Are you buying nuclear warheads by cash? You're so worried of getting tracked.
Yes, I'm worried about my privacy in general since governments seem to think privacy is an outdated concept.
Sweden has the infrastructure to do this, so I don't see the problem other then cybersecurity.
Everything is recorded, everything is controlled.
Oh well. At least we still have unthreatened freedom of speech, free healthcare (incl. dental), beautiful landscapes, a clean environment, pretty inhabitants, and our national debt isn't sky high.
You may have some freedom of speech, but you don't have much else. (i.e. guns are illegal) and you still get shit on by the west and you get 90% of entertainment releases weeks later, with most mainstream companies not even letting you buy from them -- or use their online services. enjoy getting the short end of the stick/left overs for the rest of your life, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, just go to a place like hulu or epixhd.com and try to sign up (lol) oh yeah, and technology costs. 900 euros for an Iphone (which most mobile companies here dont support at all)? no thanks http://www.klick.ee/mobiiltelefonid/apple-iphone-4s-16gb.html p.s.: EU sucks, find a better place to live that doesn't make you feel as if you live in 1944 by looking at the surrounding buildings, if any, considering rural areas of Europe are among the poorest places in the first world (most houses there have no pluming).
how many people get their digital money stolen each year? compare that to how many people get robbed in the street.
I think Benjamin Franklin had something to say about people like you.
It scares me that people are so willing to have every transaction of their lives stored on bank and/or government servers until the end of time, free for any government agent or hacker to peruse.
It's scares me that people are so willing to give value to simple pieces of fragile paper, or cheap metal alloys shaped into discs, free for the elements to destroy or for a robber to grab a fistful when nobody is looking. Privacy is important, I don't want government knowing I ordered some dragon dildos.
You may have some freedom of speech, but you don't have much else. (i.e. guns are illegal).
Weapon licenses. That's including insurance, 4,000 free Text Messages and free calling to 8 numbers of my choice. Apple sells iPhones (unlocked, contact free) for $649, so essentially I'm paying 50 dollars more, which isn't a terrible price. There are (IIRC) 5 major carriers who support androids and iPhones. Hahaha, oh wow. "Stick it in her pooper" is one of those guys who think America has the best standards of living in the world.

Computer parts and laptops are among the most expensive things you could even try to buy, compared to their equivalent that sell in the USA for up to 50% less. Plus clothes, gas, and food. More importantly: you have no walmarts/chain stores that matter/no real fast food chains (Especially ones that operate in the USA, other than Mc Donalds)

You're implying that has anything to do with the social, economical and technological structure of the entire country. Also GG that's a picture of Södermalm, one of many towns aiming to preserve historical building structure.
McDonalds and modernist architecture are the main indicators of wealth.
2/10 that's the best i can do
I don't see how old architecture matters at all? If anything, it's much more appealing to me. Just because a city does not have skyscrapers does not mean it's not developed. And who the fuck wants giant chain stores or fast food chains? Fast food chains have shit food, and chain stores have shit service.
More importantly: you have no walmarts/chain stores that matter/no real fast food chains (Especially ones that operate in the USA, other than Mc Donalds.
Well it's not like Ikea is a multi-national global chain of stores.
I've been on my own living in Estonia (very close neighbor) for the last year and 3 months
Estonia =/= Sweden So you still haven't explained what gives you the power to judge the quality of a country you've never even lived in. You're also implying being close neighbors with a country has anything to do with the wealth of the people who live there. What about the contrast of America/Mexico? Mexico is poor, but America is "rich" in comparison.
