38th parallel was a pre-war border.
The 38th parallel is also the current location of the DMZ, so that doesnt necessarily rule it out.

snip, ninja'd.
War tourists? Experience the atrocities of war without being in the crossfire.
When the only long-term outcome of NK going apeshit is 'NK gets fucked up royally', being INSIDE NK when shit goes down doesn't really constitute 'without being in the crossfire'
I'm sorry but who in their right mind would want to spend their holiday in North-Korea?
I actually would like to go sometime in my life if I ever travel to Asia. I really want to see how the North Koreans portray the west. I've seen the documentaries, it looks really interesting.
It appears to me that they're rather expecting war to break out out of paranoia rather than planning on starting it themselves. This fits with the viewpoint someone claiming to be stationed in Korea had about the North being terrified of a foreign invasion.

Documentary writers who aren't famous enough to get an escort.
and just what would China and Russia gain from that?
In reality, nothing.

As dangerous as it is, I've always been fascinated by being on the other side of things like this. I want to see what it's like to be in a country like that.
If there would be any shit going down, every news source in the world and their forums would be screaming about it with the power of millenia's worth of deadline-tortured writers

My answer withstands.
I'm sorry but who in their right mind would want to spend their holiday in North-Korea?
If one is interested in that sorta thing, North Korea is practically a living tour of an old communist state. The VICE guys likened the experience with "going back in time", things apparently haven't changed much since the 60's.
to destroy US bases if the DPRK is attacked
And how likely is it that US is going to strike first?

Not necessarily. They report extremely late on some things. Especially when they could cause panic like this. News Networks say what they're paid to say.
I'm sorry but who in their right mind would want to spend their holiday in North-Korea?
People who are interested perhaps?
This is why we're the only few who take them seriously. There's a lot more going on in NK than just shitty technology. They very well could be in coalition with someone else. US Intelligence has plenty of holes, especially when it comes to spying on a country that doesn't like being even glanced at.
Oh jeez give me a break it's like you've read one too many Clancy novels.
Oh jeez give me a break it's like you've read one too many Clancy novels.
I don't read fiction.
Why did we let them get access to nuclear weapons in the first place?
More specifically, wasn't FP ambivalent to the idea of North Korea getting nukes back when they were still developing them?
OH shit guys, prepare for total destruction!
God, the way they're calling themselves a Democratic Republic is fucking piss.
And they should shut the fuck up about the war, it's like they're asking to be swept away from this Earth.
And how likely is it that US is going to strike first?
Has anyone in US office even mentioned North Korea lately? It's like they all know North Korea is just doing this in an attempt to raise the moral of their people and won't actually do anything and therefore don't really give a shit.

Extreme tourists.
Pyongyang is apparently an incredible place. They treat their people like crap (understatement), but the few people they let in are treated like gods. Probably, from NK's point of view, a good idea to keep them flattered and stop them snooping/reporting on how much suffering there is.
Doesn't work. People just want to be flattered.
Other destination like Pripyat are just awesome experiences.
And how likely is it that US is going to strike first?
I'd wager not likely at all. Nobody wants or can afford a continued war, everybody in the UN will likely hold off intervention for as long as possible and stick to just angry letters until the first shots are fired.

Because, south korean and American forces totally not showing it off close to the borders totally hasn't risen the tensions?
And I say let them have one so that we don't have another Iraq war happening and fucking things up in the long terms without achieving anything only because of suspicions based on shit information.

Doing this?
Sending an e-mail to a british tourism agency?
The reaction from the international community won't reach any Nkoreans.
Even state media probably won't report "The DPRK recently sent an e-mail to a british tourism agency about missiles"
I don't read fiction.
Yeah because this yellow journalism is certainly non-fiction right.
"war is hours away"
Yeah right. If I were the POTUS, I would say "do it" and see whether they can follow through on their threats of the day.
Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK,

Holy shit what at title.

Man, I wish Obama would just like.
Make a video where he reads out loud NK's threats one by one and just laughs at them.
It is his second term, why not

Actually they might do just that. Impending war is a pretty good draw-card for an oppressive regime to have when things are going down the shitter domestically. What else but the party does the people have to rally around when the nasty imperialists are threatening you?
