Does that mean that reptilian Mike Pence is in office now?
Shit murica you better don't let Putin nuke my country...
if you voted trump you're a terrible person
They exercised their right to be terrible people tho.
There's nothing wrong with patriotism. Nationalism is not good. There's a difference between "I think my country is the best but I still want to improve it" and "my country is the best and all others suck".
That's jingoism, which can be dangerous I agree. Nationalism, and in the US's case a more civic nationalism, is absolutely fine.
A month ago I moved from Australia to the U.S. to get gay married.
Now I feel like I should be moving back right quick.
your gonna be fine.

Why nuke it when he can just take it?
And you will lose a tenfold more than that if you're a student in the next 4 years. Was it worth it?
you can make bets on trump winning without voting for him, you know that right?
your gonna be fine.
Correction. You're going to be fine.
Surely if your country is good it's natural to think that other countries suck?
Uh no what the fuck
Why nuke it when he can just take it?
Fair point...
Correction. You're going to be fine.
Wow I wish I was as smart as you.
That's jingoism, which can be dangerous I agree. Nationalism, and in the US's case a more civic nationalism, is absolutely fine.
Can you define those terms as you use them
Anyone who says people are overrracting over trump doesnt understand shit.
Trump being elected and the dismantling -because the DNC and RNC are going to be a clusterfuck- of traditional politics means politicians are going to move in direction of the signal given by the election of the don
That is, everything he said in his campaign and what he thinks. So yes, minorities are actually at danger of having their rigths taken away. Just because it didnt happen before, doesnt mean it wont happen nkw. Remember when we joked about trump's bid? Remember when we joked about how he could win the primary? Remember how we joked about how he could beat hillary?
So yeah. Dont be stupid. Its dangerous to think this guy is not going to change anything for worse
I don't know, there's being angry, upset and expecting the worst and then there's legitimately planning to leave the country already.
I think most people here aren't overreacting but there are definitely a few taking it a little far a little too quick.
With that being said, good luck America, you'll probably need it.
Wow I wish I was as smart as you.
I mean, this shit affects me directly. As far as I know, it won't affect you directly. It's not exactly a complex situation.
That's jingoism, which can be dangerous I agree. Nationalism, and in the US's case a more civic nationalism, is absolutely fine.
Patriotism, civic nationalism, all of those are okay, sure.
But underneath Trump, there's racial nationalism festering and growing. Pretending it doesn't exist is idiotic. White nationalism is on the rise in the US, and it's rallying behind Trump. White nationalism is actively contradictory to the civic nationalism of the US. One celebrates people of all backgrounds uniting under a common appreciation of rights and rule of law, identifying as Americans. The other excludes people of certain backgrounds and united under skin color. They don't mix.
So incredibly happy with tonight's results, he flipped PA, isn't that crazy? His closing speech was great and filled with me the hope and optimism that drew me to Trump in the first place. Couple with a Republican controlled everything, hopefully change can happen quickly and effectively. If they fuck something up ideally they could unfuck it just as fast. Not to mention the joy of proving almost everyone wrong, just look at all polls prior, I was always skeptical those and for good reason. Today was a good day.
You were conned like the rest of America
Uh no what the fuck
What?
It's standard biased juxtaposition. Your average joe is going to think that his country is better than other ones, and will generally feel that other countries aren't as great - thus sucking.
How the hell did trump win. I'm actually really shocked
How the hell did trump win. I'm actually really shocked
All I know is, I really hope that 1-2 year(s) in he fucks up so hard that he gets impeached
They exercised their right to be terrible people tho.
they sure did
still terrible though
How the hell did trump win. I'm actually really shocked
People believed his lies, and the DNC sabotaged themselves by rigging the nomination process
lmao
I just think that CTR and the Hillary campaign once again proved that you can only push so hard against the other guy, before it blows up in your face and bites you in the ass.
They should have learned from Brexit, look how that ended up, but nooooo.
I swear, Brexit should have been treated as a massive wake-up call.
How the hell did trump win. I'm actually really shocked
The media was Bias as fuck and had interests which they did not publicly show people, So there goal was to skew the public's mind on the election and show them that trump has every little support and is evil EVIL EVIIIIIIIL.
In the end the very aggressive tactics of the "Regressive left" and somewhat people on this forum it all backfired.
To the people that supported hillary and did not have a negative "your stupid" attitude and "im going to drink trump supporter tears tomorrow" state of mind I thank you for being a civilised human.
If democrats went with Bernie they probably would have won, Hell Im pretty far fucking right and I supported Bernie.
They only made things easier for Trump. Now deal with it.
I wonder what John Oliver is doing right now

I can appreciate multiple countires. Cultural appreciation is not an exhaustible resource.
How the hell did trump win. I'm actually really shocked
A lot of people agree with him, or considered him the lesser evil of Clinton vs Trump. And too many anti-Trump people either didn't vote or voted third party.
While I do think a lot of people are severely overreacting at what he'll be capable of, I hope for the best.
It must suck to be bernie
Knowing that everything you worked for: gone
Knowing that if they had chosen you: Dems would have won
Knowing that the candidate you supported: Sucked so fucking hard it lost against THIS guy
Knowing that your political career: Is over
good job!
