Donald Trump elected President of the United States - Deal with it, lmao

I had amother one of my unbelievably real nightmares last night where I was downtown and everything was on fire, the sky was blood red, bodies and pieces of them were everywhere.
I found one person that was still alive and I ran up to them, but it wasn't a person. It was 10 feet tall, didn't have a face or hair or anything. And it kept whispering to me just the word "beginning" over and fucking over again.
I woke up to the news of trump winning.
I literally vomited.
Well right now it looks like McCrory is out which is surprising that we actually got Roy Cooper in.
That's something, at least.
Called it:
I think Trump should be elected President, just for the craic and see what happens
Let's see what happens!
The fact that we fucking elected a candidate that brags about stripping rights away, in a country that was built on treating everyone equal, is so sickening and i have given up any hope for this travesty of a country.
Our country in its entire history has never ever treated everyone equal
Anyone wanting to move to The Netherlands can share my bed with me.

Gettin' closer every day, huh
Well they predicted 9/11 so that wouldn't surprise me.
How about this, Trump posters? Any defense for this damning piece of human rights mockery?
They'll just conveniently ignore it. That's what they always do.
So the question is, will Trump actually build a giant wall on the Mexico borders?
EDIT: God I hope not.
The only way I can imagine Trump's job plan working is if he tries to experiment with a self-sustaining economy. Autakry would just make him look even more fascist, but there's no way to compete on a global market without racing to the bottom. With green energy, and a decreasing reliance on oil and fossil fuels, self-sufficiency could be a possibility. Unlikely, though, considering how much the GOP fetishizes oil. Also the troubling fact that the majority of rare earth metals used for computing are most common in China. Whoops.
Maybe we'll get a hail-Mary victory for nuclear like RBM was hoping for
Maybe we'll get expanded space exploration and secure the resources we need for electronics and advanced materials that way
Maybe we'll get a healthcare system that isn't ass
I mean, I seriously doubt it, but I'm hopeful.
So the question is, will Trump actually build a giant wall on the Mexico borders?

Very unlikely, considering it costs billions. More likely he'll just try to crack down on immigration and expand ICE and increase border fence funding and deportation forces.
Fortunately he can't actively rescind the citizenships of native-born Americans born to illegal immigrant parents... but he can deport the parents and split up families. And he can try to get rid of birthright citizenship, but that's unlikely.
We can empathize, then, surprisingly.
I'm livid at Trump for trashing political discourse and legitimizing previously fringe ideas. Unbelievably livid that he insinuated that our democratic system was rigged - when yesterday more than ever proves it isn't. I'm livid that climate change will be ignored for at least 4 more years, and that the global economy will suffer according to the absolute majority of economists.
Few people think of Hillary as an ideal candidate. She was always just "not Trump" for most people - I grew to appreciate her political talent the more I researched her, but she is absolutely a weak candidate and her electoral history proves that. Every time she runs for office her approval drops like 10-20 points. Once she's in office, almost everyone agrees she's competent and talented and her approval rises again. But in a presidential election, skeletons in your closet will kill you.
Gabbard is actually an ideal candidate, and maybe over the next 4 years enough things will happen and we'll be able to have enough discussions to shift your support - we have many disagreements, but you're much more reasonable and willing to address my actual points than people like Blizzerd or Martin or (god forbid) orgornot.
Believe it or not I was always so staunchly conservative, life experiences drove me to where I am now The only reason I voted in the primary was because it was open, I'd never be a card carrying Republican, or Democrat. I think partisan politics hinder nation growth but I understand the reason they exist. I actually used to be more center left so I get the justification for some of their beliefs. I still have optimism for Trump and at this point I'm already committed. But I'll keep an eye on Gabbard.
America survived 8 years of Bush,
you guys will be fine, probably.

Neither candidate will make everyone happy. Unfortunately, this view ended up winning. If it wasn't Trump with LGBT rights, it would be Clinton with gun control or healthcare.
Northeast states and West coast states will probably defend LGBT community, mid-west/south will be the ones bringing back the conversion camps.
It may fall down to getting them out of these states, most likely by flight, to states where they won't be hunted down.
Trump/Pence probably aren't going to build a bunch of conversion camps and send people there.
Pence supports conversion therapy, and wanted to divert federal funds to researching it. Gay camps or whatever might pop up or get some extra cash, but people still have to send their kids there. If more research comes out because the fed is funding it, they can't stop institutions like the APA from publishing data that demonstrates how harmful the practice is.
This whole cycle people have been simplifying issues and exaggerating them to the point where the opposition doesn't want to listen. There are plenty of actual issues you can nail Pence and Trump on in terms of LGBT rights (e.g. Obergefell) that you don't need to make anything up.

"we've never completely been there so we shouldn't even bother trying"
My greatest concern with Donald, and the fully republican controlled government, is that I can only imagine more and more blockage to reforming our energy and our movement away from dependency on oil.
Help us Elon Musk, you're our only hope.
America barely survived 8 years of Bush,

FTFY
The Bush Administration was an absolute disaster for our country socially, economically, and politically. Internationally, they ruined our reputation with the Iraq War and their handling in general of the War on Terror.
Or have people forgotten this? Are we going to start looking back on him and Cheney favorably now?
"we've never completely been there so we shouldn't even bother trying"
I think that was more of a criticism of how we're still fucking up and against complacency rather than a suggestion that we shouldn't strive to improve things.

could you imagine non-ironically defending gay conversion camps
Neither candidate will make everyone happy. Unfortunately, this view ended up winning. If it wasn't Trump with LGBT rights, it would be Clinton with gun control or healthcare.
The fact that you would even compare those is chilling.

on earth-2, clinton won; gun owners made second class citizens and are sent to firearms conversion therapy camps

As an individual, I think W is a genuinely good guy. Cheney is an opportunistic selfish war criminal.
Now, I see Trump as a mean-spirited and narcissistic person and Pence as a human-rights-defying religious zealot.
W was angelic as a person compared to Trump. Cheney and Pence are both despicable.

Been there done that, this is way more interesting. Never said it was an experiment however him getting elected is, in my opinion a very big social experiment that failed!
I am dealing with Brexit so the Americans can deal with Trump, oh wait they have a senate who can block stuff oh well looks like you'll be pretty much okay for 4 years!
Bunch of ponces :v:
America survived 8 years of Bush,

I'll be fine, because I'm white and have social resources to fall back on. There are millions of gay people, immigrants, and working poor in America that can't boast that, and they're not going to be fine.
Neither candidate will make everyone happy. Unfortunately, this view ended up winning. If it wasn't Trump with LGBT rights, it would be Clinton with gun control or healthcare.
also to add to my previous joke, i don't think removing your rights because of who you want to marry is the same as saying you can't have guns
honestly i wish the clinton campaign just wasn't anti-guns because by comparison to all the bad shit trump could implement, gun use just isn't a big deal
like, i think everyone having guns but having universal healthcare and equal rights for everybody would totally be worth it
at least then if you get shot you could get treatment
The left has neglected and insulted the white working class for decades now. Clinton even threatened to take away the livelihood of many of them who work coal and gas jobs. What did you think would happen? Why do Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio owe the left their vote? Hindsight is always 20/20 but the Clinton campaign looks legitimately stupid right now, not just unlucky.
could you imagine non-ironically defending gay conversion camps
I'm not defending them even remotely
I'm asking people to address the issues as they are instead of simplifying things down into bullshit. Look at what people are actually saying instead of jumping to put words in their mouths. I mean fuck dude I just defended you from another poster doing that on this very page.
Pence campaigned on diverting AIDS research and treatment funding into "institutions which provide assistance to those seeking to change their sexual behavior". That could mean a lot of things, and in context of his other positions likely means support for conversion therapy, but doesn't directly translate into rounding people up and sending them to camps like people are speculating.
Shit like this is why we lost last night.
