I wouldn't be suprised if all these decisions were made at gunpoint. All the decisions I've heard from EA made a negative impact on the consumer. Has there been any good things about EA that have been reported?
No, nothing good has been reported because game journalism is retarded. "I believe that our game was not successful due to our small budget, limited demographic, lack of replayability, poor game design, and piracy." Headline: [Developer] BLAMES THE FAILURE OF HIS GANME ON HIGH PIRACY RATES "We added a simple cover mechanic to Dead Space 3 because Isaac will need to take cover from human enemies. We have spent a lot of time refining the mechanic so it will compliment the game, not hold it back." Headline: DEAD SPACE 3 TAKES A TURN FOR THE WORST AS THEY MAKE IT RESEMBLE GEARS OF WAR "ARMA 2 is a very realistic simulator, so we are trying our hardest to make the game more accessible for new players, without sacrificing features that make fans want to keep playing." Headline: BOHEMIA DUMBS DOWN ARMA 3! THIS IS BECAUSE OF CONSOLES
I still backup my wish for EA's HQ to be burnt down, but now with a twist, kill that CEO dumbfuck too.
In my opinion micro-transactions are the worst thing that has happened to gaming. What shit.
Crysis - No more single-player, multiplayer is a bf3 rip-off
And I fucking hated Crysis 2 multi. Terrible idea, terrible execution.
that learning curve man but once you're over the curve, a land of hippy elf slaughter and castlebuilding awaits you
after how many hours do the migraines stop?
he's not let any solely single-player games pass through his gates
This means that a game needs to have multiplayer to pass through. This doesn't mean that games like mass effect will lose their singleplayer modes. It is still a major problem though.
Lemme fix that list for you. There's a ton of stuff that can go wrong. Burnout - Limited to shitty cars, better cars available through micro-transactions The Sims - People can drop a sim in your city, buildings from other players are randomly added to your town
I think burnout is kinda gone. We haven't gotten a burnout game in ages and criterion seems to have moved on to need for speed, sadly, which seems like massive wasted potential. Sims allready has a drop a sim into your city with one of the DLC packs. I don't think they can build in your town though.

i ain't even mad tho
How is there a problem? The online features are most likely optional and won't be crammed down your throats. EDIT: Spec Ops: The Line devs made an article about this, read it.
ea trying to be like valve again... even though mp games are starting to get a bit dry now
That's a single player game. As if I'm going to buy any Multiplayer only EA games when they shut down servers for their games, some barely a year old, every fucking year. I bought a Madden game, was enjoying its online, 3 months after I got it they shut down the online servers for it
People actually buy Madden?
I'm sorry, but at this point I don't give a shit about EA or any of their IP's. I wish they would just die already to make room for new companies to take over.
I'm sorry, but at this point I don't give a shit about EA or any of their IP's. I wish they would just die already to make room for new companies to take over.
I too wish for thousands upon thousands of EA employees and EA-funded developers to go under and cease to exist.
I could give a fuck less if a game had a social feature
YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BRING BALANCE TO THE FORCE
RIP EA 1982-2010 I remember when EA was fun..... From Russia with Love Godfather: The Game Mirror's Edge ...Battlefield 2
No, nothing good has been reported because game journalism is retarded.
If you think game journalism is bad because of a negative bias, you're quite sorely mistaken.
How can a company be so disregardful of it's fan base, blatantly soulless, money hungry and awful as EA is. Bit still have success? I can even grasp the finest thread of that form of 'logic'.
Just going to address this post because it's bugging the fuck out of me. This isn't EA saying "lol no SP 4 u". It's the imbecile who the shareholders put in charge of the company, once again, opening his mouth when he really has no need to do so. When Gabe says something, do we say Valve said it? No, we don't. Unless it's a professional press release from Valve, it was never Valve that said it. When Todd hypes the fuck out of a feature, do we say Bethesda hyped their game? No, we don't, because we know they never said that, one of the fucking imbeciles working for them did. So when this asshole says things like this, don't brush the whole company aside because of it. EA is still full of developers and employees who actually give a fuck. And they try their hardest to make their games what they want them to be. But because of this goon, and the shareholders, they can't really just make games how they want. EA as a company would probably be so much better if they just cut this hanging turd loose. He's not doing them any good for PR, and is really, really starting to aggravate me for making it so easy for idiots to just hop on the "EA sucks lol" wagon. The games they produce still tend to be better than most publishers push out.
I too wish for thousands upon thousands of EA employees and EA-funded developers to go under and cease to exist.
The ones that were suing them for poor working conditions ? not including the indian call centers.
The ones that were suing them for poor working conditions ? not including the indian call centers.
You're referring to that article that popped up recently that turned out to be based off of another article from 2004, right? I've yet to see the conclusion of that court case.
You're referring to that article that popped up recently that turned out to be based off of another article from 2004, right? I've yet to see the conclusion of that court case.
Just don't act like EA is doing a favor for thousands upon thousand of workers, the shit we heard can't be all made up, which isn't surprising for a company like that, really. By the way, a not so good source on the 2004 lawsuit: Link; Link. That's coming from the US, i doubt the employees at "EA India" or "EA China" can afford to sue someone.
I proudly refuse to waste my money on you anymore, EA. Unless its Mirrors Edge 2.
Quoted: The entire reason EA gets to behave like this.
Just don't act like EA is doing a favor for thousands upon thousand of workers, the shit we heard can't be all made up, which isn't surprising for a company like that, really.
man, almost all software development jobs are like that. You get worked ridiculously hard for little pay in comparison to what you do. You are expected to pull ridiculous hours as the release gets closer and closer. Stupid deadlines that you can barely make even with this extra time. It just comes with the territory. The market for that kind of job is so saturated that it just turned into this. The few companies that don't do it (Google, Valve, etc.) are fucking loaded without even lifting a finger, so they can afford to pamper their employees. Companies like EA aren't earning money from sitting on their asses. They have to actually get their developers working full speed to earn even a fraction of the money Google earn from doing nothing.

So we finally going to get Spore 2: Multiplayer Only Edition?
$$$
If they keep going this way they're going to have no more $$$
If they keep going this way they're going to have no more $$$
Which is a good thing.
EA is just as bad, if not worse then Activision.
