It's not down to opinion, it's up to the facts. When abortion was illegal, you had back-alley abortionists where patients were likely to die or people spending most of their savings to go all the way to Switzerland to have an abortion. People should at least be perfectly fine with abortion if the woman was raped or will die if she gives birth.
I don't really think any aspect of morality can be a fact. We are all entitled to our opinions. For example, I am fine with abortion in cases of rape, danger to the life of the mother, or incest. I am not okay with using it as a form of birth control.
Just going to say, Ron Paul has no possible way to win the GOP nomination by delegates. Assuming he wins a shocking 50% of all the delegates in every single state that is holding a primary or caucus after today, he will only have 711 delegates, assuming nobody leaves the race.
Ron Paul will chaperon any trip to a florist!
Fun fact: Regardless of the popular vote here, Romney received 7 delegates from this VI Caucus, and Ron Paul received only 1.

It's just that the opinion that abortion should be outlawed completely is horribly misguided and shouldn't even be considered, given the harm it being outlawed causes.
That's subjective. It's down to personal opinion whether abortion is morally wrong or not.
it's not a matter of morality it's a matter of rights. it's a woman's body therefore it's a woman's right to choose what happens to it. what you or anyone else thinks of it is irrelevant.
I don't really think any aspect of morality can be a fact.
Sure, but I'm certain governments exist - at least Western governments like you and I are lucky enough to live in - to provide choice and freedom to the average man, woman or child. That's why we have tangible human rights. The thing is, making abortion illegal leads to back-alley clinics, being a patient of which carries a high mortality rate and a chance of infertility. So, eventually, someone will die directly due to the outlawing of abortion, meaning someone made a choice which lead to someone's death. In that case it was either due to ignorance or simply being a malignant person; either way someone was forced into that situation of which someone would eventually die from, and I think that's a clear contradiction of that whole "choice and freedom" thing.
We're talking about the morality of it here, not the legality of it.
but the morality of it isn't relevant. morality shouldn't be legislated.
but the morality of it isn't relevant. morality shouldn't be legislated.
It shouldn't, and that's why I'm ok with the current situation regarding abortion in the US
It's great that in america the politics have gotten in such a state that people are actually voting for ron paul
It shouldn't, and that's why I'm ok with the current situation regarding abortion in the US
You mean being legal? I thought you said you wanted it left to the states?
It's great that in america the politics have gotten in such a state that people are actually voting for ron paul
Some people have taken to calling him the nuclear option. A human reset button. Skip to 1:25.
Uh, you don't make claims like that and then ask people to prove what you're saying is not true. It doesn't work like that. If you cannot come up with some proof to hold up your argument then why should we take what you say seriously.
i made quite a few points in the post you replied to. so much for expecting intelligence from this forum, right?
You mean being legal? I thought you said you wanted it left to the states?
I never said that
Solyndra was an isolated case of the Government wanting to do good and the company being royally fucked up. Same happens with other companies all the time.
I never said that
Ah right. I must have had you mixed up with someone else.
Ah right. I must have had you mixed up with someone else.
ron paul?
all the massive increases in spending for medicare and medicaid
President spending more money. They've been doing this since Eisenhower. Not socialist. Also, can you post a source proving these massive increases happened? the latest actual information of Medicare and medicaid spending seems to have been released in 2009. I'd like a number more recent.
the banker bailouts
By this I assume you are referring to TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) These banker bailouts were authorized by President Bush, Obama is just administering it. This same program has been defended by Mitt Romney himself as essential to preserving our financial system. Not socialist.
he subsidized solyndra
Yeah, he made a bad investment. There's no defending that. However, Solyndra was just a small part of a much bigger energy investment, making up only 1.3% of what the Department of Energy made loans to. So far, Solyndra's been the only problem.
the massive amount of new regulations he has introduced
Be more specific. If the amount of regulations is so massive, surely you could name some of them.
obama's civillian national security force (1 million strong)
He wasn't talking about some personal army with guns. He was talking about AmeriCorps and the PeaceCorps because their membership number was looking pretty bad.
i hope the AmeriCorps is still around when i'm done with college
