You realize if the Iron Dome goes down, even more civilians are going to die, right?
i could have sworn that Israel's military budget was in the billions, I didn't realize they were like a middle eastern detroit on the cusp of having to shut down vital infrastructure due to bankruptcy
The US is literally giving billions of dollars a year to a country that is comitting mass murder on civilians. Whether or not you believe that is justified as self defense (and it's my personal opinion that you'd be off your god damn rocker to do so) the least they could do is demand civilian casualties be almost entirely eliminated before any further funding is sent. Losing billions a year in funding might actually force Israel to change the way they're doing things
when has there ever been zero civilian causalities in a war? clueless
oh ok so lets defund israel so that israelies die just as much

Those 28 deaths since 2001 begs to differ.

Uh I'm pretty sure I didn't say there had to be zero, just that they maybe shouldn't account for almost all of the casualties? Do you realize how many people they killed in just a few days?? Over 1,400 by multiple sources, and a massive percentage of that is civilians. Hell, some of those are from people shelled inside a UN approved shelter that israel was repeatedly notified of. The only person clueless here is you

You're right. I too relish in the thoughts of Israeli civilians dying! That's some sick thinking there.
This is such a fucking stupid argument, if Hamas is using human shields then that must mean you have NO CHOICE but to blow the shit out of civilians as well right?
I only heard of the news after I wrote that comment, and I'm pretty sure it was confirmed after it, that civilians were bombed purposely. I redact that. I also never dismissed their liability, I just said that civilian casualties are NOT avoidable, looking back on most conflicts in history, there's always a margin of collateral damage. However, Israel has exceeded it and targeted civilians.

Maybe. It certainly looks like it now.
But only when the dust settles, the dead are counted and buried and each side presents his version of the events to whoever investigates what happened will we be closer to knowing not only exactly what happened, but (and this seems to be equally important here) why.
Namely: exactly how many people were killed, how many of them were militants and how many innocents, who actually killed them and what was their intention.
And realize that we may never fully know exactly what happened in every event, and that even when its over every side will probably pick his preferred interpretation of the facts.
I'm in a unique position of being able to get a little of both sides of the story. One of my brothers currently serves there, the other is a human rights activist who will no doubt already collecting testimonies from there. I'm sure my brother doesnt open fire on children for fun. I'm not sure my other brother won't find soldiers that testify they did. I'll ask them both when this is over. Soon, I hope.
Until then, just remember that things aren't always what they seem.
