Damn, it would have been awesome if they pulled off the heist(if no one got hurt) and then were arrested.
That is what happened, the heist was a few weeks ago
As romantic as it is, these crimes still effect people as its repercussions trickle down.
I wonder how much it will cost the shareholders. As much as one, maybe two dollars?
Heists are so cool to me. I always hope the people who pull them off never get caught, so it adds another layer of mystery to it. The Pink Panthers (The heisters not the movies) are pretty awesome cause they haven't been caught.
You must read about the Rio heist a couple of years ago here in Argentina. The robbers got into the bank, threatened and tied everyone up, got away with millions of pesos through a secret tunnel which during the whole heist nobody noticed and fled into uruguay. The best thing about it? They were using fake guns all the time and only the boss and another member if I'm not mistaken haven't been caught.
man if i was a criminal i'd execute heists then mail back the stolen goods with flowers and chocolate with a card saying "Sorry" in the worst drunken cursive possible heisting should be a sport
My father is a lawyer and he had once a client who was working at the Bundesdruckerei (Where you print money in Germany) and he got a great idea to steal a bag of very old moldy and dirty banknotes that were to be incinerated not to be in circulation anymore and he did take a bag, threw it over a wall and after work he took it home. Few days later he came back to his workplace drunk with the sack and said ''sorry yo, this was silly'' or something equally dumb and now he serves jailtime :L
We need a proper heist simulator game, that isn't Payday or GTA5. Imagine like the classic Swat games but playing it from the criminals perspective.
in a spurt of creativity I did come up with a similiar concept one time, but I just don't have the means to pull it off
it's pretty shitty to root for the robbers in this situation, regardless of how clever the heist was http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/hatton-garden-jewellery-heist-raid-victims-have-lost-everything-10231072.html
But they looked so kewl in those epic movies!!
I'm expecting more arrests can't image anyone over the age of 48 climbing through such a hole.
Guess that rules out Jonny Depp, Brad Pitt or George Clooney for the movie then. Or Clint Eastwood as the oldest mastermind.
lmao what do u care to explain how a bunch of locked away diamonds (so, u know, not actively being traded) getting jacked indirectly affects the job market/economy
Hatton Garden is the lock up used by the majority of the jeweler community in London, some of the boxes weren't insured because the owners assumed that the'd be safe in one of the most secure depositories in the country. A lot of jewelers could go bust because of their losses. So yeah.
We need a proper heist simulator game, that isn't Payday or GTA5. Imagine like the classic Swat games but playing it from the criminals perspective.
Except Swat games are mostly about going after rapists in their dungeons and whatnot. But I get your point.
man if i was a criminal i'd execute heists then mail back the stolen goods with flowers and chocolate with a card saying "Sorry" in the worst drunken cursive possible heisting should be a sport
If I was a millionaire I'd kidnap people just for the fun of it. I'd take them to like a private resort at a beach or in the mountains and give them 2 weeks vacation to see if the police would ever find evidence that it was me that did it. After those two weeks I'd send the person back home with like $5000 for their trouble.
Except Swat games are mostly about going after rapists in their dungeons and whatnot. But I get your point.
Does anyone know where can we still buy SWAT 4? Like, an online copy.
Back in November there was a "smash and grab" jewellery raid on the Shopping centre near where I live, with the thieves making off with around 500K worth. The last of the members involved just got sentenced for it.
So, according to Facepunch's Legal System.. Theft is perfectly fine, so long as it involves items of great worth and a dramatic methodology. Our island nation will be riddled with tunnels.
If Facepunch was an island nation, it'd be more like Escape From New York.
Does anyone know where can we still buy SWAT 4? Like, an online copy.
I'm pretty sure the game barely even works on W8+.

More so if they hadn't been caught.
As romantic as it is, these crimes still effect people as its repercussions trickle down.
Money never seems to make it down though. [editline]22nd May 2015[/editline]
aren't jewelry stores a symptom of and not a real basis for strong economy?
Jewelry stores are a sign that people have money to spend, that's about it. They don't hold any other value because the wears being shown aren't necessity nor actually valuable when you look at the rarity of said materials.
Do you feel the same level of respect for premeditated murder?
Of course not, it's not as easy to pretend murder has no victims.
lmao what do u care to explain how a bunch of locked away diamonds (so, u know, not actively being traded) getting jacked indirectly affects the job market/economy

Money never seems to make it down though.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/hatton-garden-jewellery-heist-raid-victims-have-lost-everything-10231072.html
Rick Marchant of Marchant and Marchant Limited said many of those who lost valuables taken when a gang of thieves ransacked 72 safety deposit boxes over Easter weekend were “mainly small businesses”. Mr Marchant told the broadcaster: “These aren't extremely wealthy people, for a lot of them their livelihoods have gone. All of us might be forgiven for thinking how audacious, how clever, but what (the gang has) done is ruin the lives of many people within the Hatton Garden jewellery quarter.
Small businesses being financially ruined by theft doesn't effect the economy? What about the people they employ? What about their livelihood? I suppose you imagined a filthy rich and greedy fat-cat having his private jewels stolen and thought that was a pretty grand deed.
Of course not, it's not as easy to pretend murder has no victims.
lol what are jewels above human life to you or something
lol what are jewels above human life to you or something
He's saying people like you defend heists because you can easily pretend there are no victims
Does anyone know where can we still buy SWAT 4? Like, an online copy.
good luck, i had to get a physical copy. mine cost 15$~ iirc, but theyre now like 60$..
He's saying people like you defend heists because you can easily pretend there are no victims
i'd say it's more insulting to the victims of murder to compare them to jeweler who lost their jewels than it is to 'pretend' jewelers losing jewels isn't going to shake the economy [editline]24th May 2015[/editline] "he's pronounced dead" "AT LEAST HE ISN'T ALIVE AND DEALING WITH THE AFTERMATH OF SUCCESSFUL CRIMINAL PROSECUTION AGAINST THE PEOPLE WHO STOLE FROM HIM"

I suggest not saying things like "They can just find new jobs!" and "At least the economy is fine" that sound like Republican talking points.
actually way over-reacting to crimes that people are already being punished for is sort of a republican talking point
