Imagine using the word "respectable" in a thread about a pirate group.

That's not an option on all my devices unfortunately. It still works with my server, it's just loud as hell. When I'm in my computer room I just use my server as a file server and play via MPC.

In the end what I really need to do is get a separate media server so high load on it does not affect my other server uses.
I've always been under the impression that pirates are the reason developers and studios try to shove their DRM dicks down everyone's throat which makes it harder for the rest of us who legally obtain their entertainment.
blaming pirates for decisions that the companies make (which are also demonstrably pointless decisions that benefit nobody, but pirates are apparently responsible for the incompetence of major corporations.)
You guys are arguing about res and bitrate, yet -for me- one of the biggest issues with their rips is that they didn't incorporate/use the newer H.265 codec.
What, doesn't that take literal months to encode with?
Or did they actually fix it. I remember it being horrendously slow.
I know there was suggestions earlier about replacements, but I have yet to find one that organizes the films nicely like YIFYS did
Respectable

Sometimes the people that encode actually take measures to make it look BETTER than the source, mostly on older content made on film which has been remastered to a high res bluray release

Both h.265 and vp9 are still horrendously slow, probably won't see a significant speedup for software-based approaches, since you're trading computation time for compression effectiveness.

Depends on the encoder. ffmpeg has a h.256 encode, which is just about as fast as the h.264 encoder, at least according to certain benchmarks around the net. This was at least half a year ago too.
Why is it that the only way I learn these sites exist is when they get shut down?
Is it back up or something? There is a site that is up and working but it's not at the original domain or something

The domain was signed over to the MPAA
"HD" movies with such a low bitrate and the worst audio available that the only thing HD about them is the resolution
YIFFY crushed blacks like they had racist fetish

Ah, the comments section is a beacon of enlightenment, as always.

Hope this helps everyone.

I wouldn't download anything from any YTS sites at the moment...
Considering they settled out of court with no information regarding that you have to wounder what he's given up for that.
IP's? Names etc?
Still more to this story to come out.
I'm still surprised it was someone from my country.
I don't even know where to start downloading anything.
Every site i got to has required registrations, needlessly complicated site jumping, movies are just BS telling me to update Adobe flash/firefox/chrome, Pay money, or firefox downloads the ads instead of the movies.
I've tried using programs including
Freemake Video Downloader
Firefox Video Helper
Every time I screen capture I never get audio or i just get the advertisement.
Saving the url and trying to find it that way
Fiding the cached file in the Developer' Tools that never shows up
Is there no place on the entire internet to download a video without useless crap?

I'll highly recommend running an antivirus/anti-malware on your PC seeing as you just admitted to using some sketchy programs from the internet to watch free movies.
Other than that- can't help you.

Lmao, do you even know how what torrents are, or how to use them?

Not very well. It's rather confusing.

I've had anti-virus programs for a while now. The problem is that I never know whether a site is legit or just hosting viruses and pop ups.
I don't know if the anti-virus is blocking viruses or if it's blocking torrents.
Its true that it has been shut down but i did some of my own research and came across with different website providing alternative for yify torrents don't whether they are authentic and reliable or not. What you people say? Going for alternatives would be a good option ? Also i wasn't able to find why it was shut down. Can anyone clear it for me?
🤨What the fuck
