There is nothing to discuss with the Argentineans.
I'm in no way saying that war was unnecessary or cheapening it at all. But to say corbyn is a threat to the Falklands because he would talk with Argentina about it is once again childish slander from the tabloids and people are emotionally buying into it. If corbyn sat down for a real interview and said he doesn't mind if Argentina have the islands back then I have no problem at all with people criticising him but untill then I recommend abstinence from bullshit
Alright alright, I do see your point and it's a good one. The slander campaign is definitely real even even if I don't necessarily support him in all areas. Emotionally and personally, I would rather him completely disregard Argentina, but that's me :v:
I doubt I'll ever get a response but opposing the Falklands having Veto power in diplomacy with regards to Argentina is not giving up the Island. Most Brits don't wanna ever give up those Islands. You should probably be working towards normalizing diplomacy with this country anyway. The United States was attacked by Japan in ww2 and never gave Hawaiians the same privilege.
that isn't what i meant to imply so sorry for the poor wording, it was early in the morning and it was a fairly emotional post given that the war killed half my damn family, but "it's near argentina so it's rightfully theirs" is an opinion i've seen voiced a lot of times in my life so it didn't seem too irrational to presume a similar angle which was of course wrong on my part, i take it back though as i'm blatantly mistaken [sp]backpeddling like a motherfucka because this is clearly a sensitive topic for me and of course isn't an argument i'd happily get into[/sp]
Agreed wholeheartedly and rest in peace to your family members.
<3

The second is actually assuming he'd make it a grand point of his time as PM to "give the Falkland islands away" or whatever The Sun are saying he'll do next. Compared to a lot of politicians Cobyrn seems just that bit more isolationist, he is mostly running on the idea that he wants to try and fix our failing systems (that were working fine before the Tories took over but w/e). Foreign affairs are something he'll have to approach, but I honestly doubt he'd go out of his way to stir shit with Argentina as it's largely a waste of time until we can sit them down and properly tell them to fuck off (considering the nightmare that is Argentina right now, that isn't soon). His opinions on this matter are largely only known and relevant because someone asking him about them and now the right-wing led media will not shut the fuck up about these godforsaken islands. I can't say I've ever seen him bring it up in policy talks unless it's a topic of the debate or someone thinks they can earn brownie points by calling him out. Every politician has some ideals that nobody would be happy with seeing, that doesn't mean they actually get to implement them whilst PM. Labour themselves would probably work against any attempts at "giving away" those islands.
