A Single Molecule Computes Thousands of Times Faster than Your PC
Except this isn't a quantum computer, it's just a molecule that... Computes. We can't get it to compute what WE want.
Did you even read the article?
Every molecule must be equal to a dual-quad core processor and 16GB of Ram. DAMN I'm a powerful computer! Too bad I crashed so many times that most of my apps don't work right...
That's not really a thousand times faster, and these "specs" aren't even that amazing.
What about thermal energy emission? Would that be an issue if molecule based CPUs were to be created?
One day, our computers will be made out of molecules
It already is, if you know what I meant
But just think about how small a single molecule is, and how many of them you could fit into today's computer chip sizes (ranging from about 45nm to 60nm on average). Quantum computing, yes please. Shame it'll be ~70+ years before we see it in action. Heck, I might be dead by then.
well i can compute faster then my pc
cause my pc sucks -_-

The development of technology is constantly accelerating.
Your estimate is very, very conservative.

oh, really? i never realized that!

Do want.
Just imagine being able to build the most complex contraptions you want in GMod with no lag :buddy:
Even though our brain is more powerful than any molecules, Imagine harnessing the power of your brain and use it for computing?

I think IBM were working on something along those lines, think it was called project blue brain though im not 100% certain.
I bet garry wont integrate this into GMOD.
Imagine the leap in real-time computer graphics if this was integrated successfully with our GPUs. Fucking shit, games would become limitless.
Yeah never mind that we could probably finally work out string theory with it.
Let's fucking run crysis on full!!! :buddy:
I remember hearing about this like a year ago, and they haven't made much progress since.
I'm skeptical.
...forgive them for taking some time to work out the kinks in building machines at the molecular level.
