Cool, but did you hear him out? The basic argument is that they sold 500 thousand units in 6 months, and they expect to sell 8.5 million in the next 6 months. That ain't gonna happen. Currently it's basically selling half that of the Xbox 360, and almost 2.5 times less than the PS3. Sure, Smash Bros. and whatever is gonna boost sales a bit, but not by that much. I have yet to see a Wii U, whether it's in a store, a commercial or at someone's home. I'm not actively seeking one out, but I'm definitely not avoiding it.
It wasn't just the price that made the PS3 not sell in it's early years. It was the complete lack of games and every bit of bad press the PS3 got during that time. Devs complained that it was too hard to develop for. Sony PR was horrible ("if people can't afford a ps3, they should get a second job!!") and every exclusive that came out for it was horrible or was ported to the 360, with the PS3 version usually being the worst. It was technologically disadvantaged because nobody could figure out how to make games for it, and it was already bad enough that the transition into HD was really bad for developers.
The Wii U has a lack of games as well? And this is technologically disadvantaged to the Xbone and PS4 in a whole different kind of way. There's more of a difference, and this difference isn't going improve much, as they get to know the system. The 4850 will still remain a 4850 that needs to compare to the 7850/70 (-esque) GPU in the PS4 and the 7790 (-esque) GPU in the Xbone.
