Oh no.
What are nintendo doing?
From the looks of it making a console/handheld hybrid. Not to mention showing off the Dualshockers 4 clone on day 1.
I can see Nintendo is pretty much trying to "grow" with its target market. Basically just young adults in their 20s shown.
Both MarioKart 8 and Splatoon used Wii U gameplay......
backwards compat?
the end one had different hair styles so should mean new splatoon
Shield streams games though, this clearly doesn't.
Wow that looks fucking stupid!
Portable skyrim though.
What's stupid about it?
No really, I want to know why people think this concept is stupid because it seems pretty damn solid to me.
Besides "i don't care about it being a handheld", anyway.
that mario kart game looks closer to double dash
I have to say this is pretty great, but also pretty concerning.
I want to know more about:
- Battery life
- Storage method
- Physical media
Well, they did show it using carts so it could be similar to how the 3DS handles media and storage through SD cards.

99% sure that was just Mario Kart 8.

Shield also plays games on its Nvidia Tegra X1 APU... which sounds awfully similar to the Nintendo Switch, are rumors to be believed.

I noticed that too. Nintendo knows their audience.

but that was mario kart 8 dude..

And look, there it is. You can tell Nintendo to fuck off with motion controls and portables and other stuff and just use the Dualshockers clone controller.

oh I've never played MK8 so my b
Might be able to have quick diy grassroot tournaments with this

it's what the wii u should have been from the beginning
it doesn't bring anything new to the table. You can play console games on the go but this isn't a new field, nvidia shield and laptops to a degree do this. Also you know portable handhelds are pretty good.
Oh no.

making something great that isn't a boring ass playstation
moster hunter on the big screen with real controls again
cant wait
I just hope the finished product is able to maintain the same frame rate in portable as it does in stationary mode. It was really hard going from 30fps in Xenoblade Chronicles to 15fps when switching to the controller.
I don't understand, how can it support wii u games wjen according to the ad, only one screen can be active at a time?
so uhh.. like one hour battery life when out and about? yeah it looks cool but it's literally impossible by physical laws for it to work good, same with performance

It's closer to an Xbox controller.

I hope it's at least as ergonomic as the Pro Controller, because that thing was supremely comfortable.
I'm surprised they didn't show smash on this, I've had to lug a power supply, TV and Wii U onto a boat to play with my friends, this sounds much easier and more streamlined.
This seems interesting. If it works as well as it looks in that video it'd be a pretty groundbreaking concept, but I don't quite get it. Will it be under powered? Surely you can't cram that much power into that small of a tablet. If it has more graphical capacity while it's stationary, won't performance take a considerable hit when on the go? It's not streaming, is it?
Someone feel free to correct me, I've been really out of the loop with this whole NX thing.
shit so it's a 3DS and WiiU all on one device?
sign me the fuck up
-snip-
is this a joke?
FROM? Shit, DS3 on the go.
