So, here's what's recently happened: Republicans: "Only allow abortions for 'forcible rape' and situations where mother is in danger from pregnancy." Public: "What the hell!" R: "Lol, oops, typo", remove 'forcible' R: "Hospitals can refuse to treat or refer women who need abortions to save their lives if they feel like it." P: "What the shit!" R: "Justifiable homicide now includes cases where the killer is defending an unborn fetus from harm or death, even if it is not their own." P: "What the fuck!" R: "Lol, oops, typo", add in 'illegal' before harm or death R: "Cut all federal funding for Planned Parenthood." What R expects P to say now, given what has happened: "Oh that's not so bad."
that's all good and well but sexuality is an important part of human development [editline]18th February 2011[/editline] plus you know you kinda need it to get childeren fyi

You do realize that if we weren't as sexual as we are(which is natural and not a perversion of modern day society, being puritan is unnatural to us) we'd be a lot worse off? Sexuality and sex is a good thing, and as long as people do it carefully these days, or even if they don't, it's really only on them, and it's a natural human function, we can't judge.

but sex is sorta you know important non-procreative sex is really important to the vast majority of functioning human beings on this planet trying to fight unwanted pregnancy and stds by telling people to not have sex is like trying to stop obesity by telling people not to eat
Why do you think I said the latter statement? As all you people said, sex, and sexuality, is a psychological necessity.
because you also said it shouldn't be on the federal budget. sex being as "popular" as it is means it absolutely should be on the federal budget. Planned Parenthood provides a service that greatly increases the overall welfare of our society, we would be undeniably worse off without it [editline]19th February 2011[/editline] i mean this is regressivism. this is moving in the exact opposite of where we want to go as a society, towards third world countries with archaic and oppressive legal attitudes towards sex and sexuality. the republicans, due to what I can only interpret as a deep, seething, profound hatred of themselves and humanity, have committed themselves to putting us all on a standing-room-only, one-way, layover in Tulsa, rocket ship ride to the stone age
abort all republicans asap
Well, here we go again.
Most retarded House in recent history I have to say.
Government shouldn't be providing a big portion of it's budget anyways.
Money for 34% of funds used wouldn't be used if people kept it in their pants.
People shouldn't have to keep it in their pants. [editline]19th February 2011[/editline]
Government shouldn't be providing a big portion of it's budget anyways.
What PP does is important and is actually a free service, so yea, the government should.
How fucking stupid can you get.
I love how this amendment doesn't (yet) affect 90% of facepunchers yet they still bitch about it.
Money for 34% of funds used wouldn't be used if people kept it in their pants.
And if your dad had followed your advice and hadn't fucked your mom, we wouldn't have to read stupid shit like this.
This is really stupid and it's not going to pass.
I love how this amendment doesn't (yet) affect 90% of facepunchers yet they still bitch about it.
That's a pretty shitty way to go about things, only caring about what affects you directly.
It feels like the incompetence of this Congress will have a big impact on Obama's run for second term, and not in a positive way. [editline]19th February 2011[/editline]
I love how this amendment doesn't (yet) affect 90% of facepunchers yet they still bitch about it.
Hey you know what didn't affect me at all? The entire world recession.
I love how this amendment doesn't (yet) affect 90% of facepunchers yet they still bitch about it.
"Why try to do anything about injustices if they don't affect you"
I love how this amendment doesn't (yet) affect 90% of facepunchers yet they still bitch about it.
For one, You are a asshole, and for two, it will effect us one day.
Money for 34% of funds used wouldn't be used if people kept it in their pants.
I have a feeling you're going to end up being a gag in this sub-forum, just like Glaber.
Well, you know what has to happen now, Start a non-profit insurance company like the blue cross which got swept away. It'll take in federal, state, maybe even local funding in order to operate. The only trick is to prevent conservatives from privatizing it. Or, we could also ask our democratic congressman to propose unification between the government's health care providers. The real trick is making hospitals public again. Profit-driven hospitals have been one of the worst impacts on the American middle class since the Reagan's "trickle down economics" implementation under the newly-developed, so-called "free market"
Good god, that's just regressive idiocy.
Money for 34% of funds used wouldn't be used if people kept it in their pants.
u mad cause you can't get any
It feels like the incompetence of this Congress will have a big impact on Obama's run for second term, and not in a positive way. [editline]19th February 2011[/editline] Hey you know what didn't affect me at all? The entire world recession.
Not in a positive way for the Republican candidate? Obama could campaign solely on a platform of "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ELECT REPUBLICANS" and win by a landslide.
I love how this amendment doesn't (yet) affect 90% of facepunchers yet they still bitch about it.
how dare they take an interest in the politics of their country HOW DARE THEY
But, what am I saying? That wouldn't happen in a million years; sex is popular amongst the people.
Other natural bodily functions that are popular amongst the people include breathing, pissing, and walking.
so republicans only care about your baby until it is born? then it's yours and yours alone even if you need help and are a terrible parent?
so republicans only care about your baby until it is born? then it's yours and yours alone even if you need help and are a terrible parent?
George Carlin said it well.
Once you leave the womb, conservatives don't care about you until you reach military age. Then you’re just what they’re looking for. Conservatives want live babies so they can raise them to be dead soldiers.
Anyone notice how the SAME EXACT THING happened to Acorn?
I know for a fact that a large amount of people will rate me Dumbz, but: Good.
I know for a fact that a large amount of people will rate me Dumbz, but: Good.
I won't dumb you if you give me a good reason as to why you can take away a womans right to choose, life, health, and other things?
I know for a fact that a large amount of people will rate me Dumbz, but: Good.
How is it good, exactly?
I know for a fact that a large amount of people will rate me Dumbz, but: Good.
Look at the graph in the OP. 3% of Planned Parenthood's finances go to abortion. The rest is all women's health and preventative care. They get $75 million a year from the government - do you know how much of a drop in the bucket that is compared to, say, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq?
