House votes to bar all federal funding for Planned Parenthood
Look at the graph in the OP. 3% of Planned Parenthood's finances go to abortion. The rest is all women's health and preventative care.
They get $75 million a year from the government - do you know how much of a drop in the bucket that is compared to, say, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Again, live babies, dead soldiers, etc.
I know for a fact that a large amount of people will rate me Dumbz, but:
Good.
Well, you could avoid dumbs if you just explained why you think we should make more unwanted children forced into the world and ruin lives.
Not in a positive way for the Republican candidate? Obama could campaign solely on a platform of "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ELECT REPUBLICANS" and win by a landslide.
No I mean that the legislation that gets through Congress will reflect poorly on Obama.
Then again it doesn't matter because campaigning should be starting soon and we haven't seen any real Republican candidates show up.

I think abortion's wrong. Try to avoid it, and if you do end up pregnant, give the child to an orphanage.
If they dropped the abortion part completely and stuck to other things like cancer treatments and attempting to stop STDs, it would be a whole lot better.
The contraception shouldn't be funded though, because why should some get free treatment while others have to pay for it? But that's straying from my main focus of the abortion issue.
Just wanted to state that I'm against abortion, even if 98% of Facepunchers are for it.
So there's my explanation. Glad to see there's a few Facepunchers who actually listen to people instead of instantly dumb'ing.

I don't see any reason why not.

So you're against providing free condoms/contraception because they can't provide free condoms to everyone? That may be the most retarded thing I've ever heard.

becuase we shouldn't screw people over in the name of some bizarre perception of fairness
it should help as many people as it can

I don't see what's wrong with giving out contraceptives, it's there so kids who can't afford condoms/morning-after pill can get it instead of having sex anyway.

Why should they try to avoid it?
if you give that child to an orphanage it is likely going to either stay there or be moved through foster homes until adulthood
What a shitty Congress.
"This man's pinky has become gangrenous. We'll have to amputate at the shoulder."
Ohoho wait, I just noticed that federal funding for abortions was already banned. Now they're just being dicks.
Lets not forget the emotional stress put on a child to know that they never knew their birth mother.

That reminds me of what some guy said when he was asked why he wasn't going to get a flu shot:
"It will prevent the flu, so I won't build up immunity to the flu, so I will be more prone to getting the flu later."
This still trumps it in stupidity, though.

Spoken like a person who has no idea how painful childbirth is
I don't either but I can empathize with "HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE WORST PAIN I HAVE EVER FELT"
Rest of your post isn't as silly (still silly though, of course contraception should be funded it's helpful) so I won't viciously attack it.
Women should have the choice to have abortions if they think it's the right thing to do for them.
Would you still have that opinion if you knew what it's like to carry a child, and give birth to it?
i think we should ban abortion so the chances of me being on the TV will exponentially increase, 10 years from now "ESTRANGED SON SEES CHRONIC SHITPOSTING FATHER FOR THE FIRST TIME"
What? Why?

Planned Parenthood has nothing to do with abortion. All you're doing is advocating female death because you're a man who is too fucking stupid to realize this is a conversation well above your head. Women, contrary to your fucking stupid beliefs, have a choice as to what to do with their bodies. They can choose the "child" in their stomachs, or not. They have that right. I like you trying to deny them that. It's really fucking classy.
[editline]20th February 2011[/editline]
also, if you think foster care works, you're functionally fucking retarded. No joke, you're actually a fucking retarded animal as far as I care if you think foster care works as well as being razed by a real family.

i agree with you but keep cool man
Cutting federal spending is ok with me, but cutting budgets for things that are actually useful is just outright wrong. They should take a gander at our outrageous defense budget and maybe cut a chunk off of that, oh I forgot they're too fucking stupid and party motivated to not even CONSIDER it.
if you give that child to an orphanage it is likely going to either stay there or be moved through foster homes until adulthood
This rarely happens to newborn babies, actually.
This rarely happens to newborn babies, actually.
not true. a new born baby is kept in hospital for it's first 6 months unless you can find a mother who is willing to take it and feed it herself. after that, it's whoever wants it, and nobody may want it. Orphanges don't really look after most kids.

I was talking to my dad about the House last night. I feel pretty relieved not to live in the US with these bigots in power, I reckon they spend most of their time working out ways to damage women's rights and then the other portion working out how to cover the bigotry up with a guise. ('Budget cuts')
So basically the Republicans are 'cutting spending' on saving pregnant women from death by complications while they allow $500billion to be spent on killing-snip- middle eastern people.
COME ON. You guys need to stop being so complacent and do something about these bastards. Well, my words will probably fall on deaf... eyes here, but only until women start dying in childbirth.
[editline]20th February 2011[/editline]
By the way, doesn't Planned Parenthood also provide vital STD health checks and other women's checks like Breast screening?
Are they TRYING to kill off women?
I think abortion's wrong. Try to avoid it, and if you do end up pregnant, give the child to an orphanage.
Try asking ANYONE who grew up in a orphanage, or has been a adoption tossing ball on how good that is for a child.
Hint: it's some of the worst shit you could do to kids.
Does anyone know what the fuck this thing is called? Every single news source out there just calls it an 'amendment'.
How do I look up more info on it if I don't even know what it's called?

EDIT: Wait, I think that amendment's a failed previous attempt, they might be resurrecting it.
EDIT2: Yeah, it's a different one, an amendment to fiscal year 2011 Continuing Resolution, being pushed by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN). Planned Parenthood is already prohibited from using public funds for abortions (Executive Order 13535)
I don't know why people think they can make decisions about other people's bodies, especially regarding child birth. Nobody but the mother of the child has the right to deny an abortion. People say that it's saving lives, yeah, fuck that, you're putting a woman who doesn't want to bear a child through unimaginable pain and then forcing that unwanted child to live a life either with a parent that never wanted them or in a fucking foster home jumping from family to family, rendering them psychologically damaged. You people who think you have the right to deny a woman the right to abort an unwanted child disgust me.

If only you knew how the real world worked outside that snowglobe you call suburbia.
Fuck that was clever even for me.

Agreed. That is, so long as it isn't just some richfag who's too lazy to wear a condom and decides its funny to get an abortion every other week instead of taking a morning-after pill.
i dont know it might have happened
I believe the problem with most opposers of abortion, is that they lack the empathy to NOT make a generalization about all people who have these operations done.
In fact, most people on this forum alone make plenty of generalizations.
For example:
-The majority of republican politicians make stupid decisions
"All republicans must be stupid."
-Retarded bible-humpers like those of the WBC hate abortion and gay rights
"All Christians must hate abortions and homosexuals."
