and pitching a bitch fit whenever someone complements valve doesn't make you edgy or cool
yeah I guess so. I should probably stop
I should stop coming onto Facepunch when thinking of getting a new game.
I'm always like, "Fuck Yeah, looks awesome!". Then I come on Facepunch and people bitch about the game and doubts begin to grow.
:frown:
huh
I don't understand how HL2 episodes didn't receive the same shitstorm as other DLC, if you look at it, the episodes are nothing but map packs.
Singleplayer map packs ≠ multiplayer map packs
The HL episodes offered a genuine extension to the story, not like other DLC which patches on a quest or something. They offered a solid 5-7 hours of gameplay and a compelling story and for $20 that's fair.

it's facepunch, we bitch about everything.
7 years to late.

wisdom
If they'd done this 7 years ago we'd have never seen awful games like "GoldenEye 007 Rogue Agent".
Though in that time they did make one very very good game "Freedom Fighters" but that was as good as it got.
Edit:
broke my automerge.

it took your 3 minutes to write that?
Thank the fucking lord.

That would work if all games had demos.
WHICH THEY SHOULD. A demo is as important to a game and a trailer is to a movie.

you didn't get angry at me. I feel bad for phrasing my sentence the way I did.

The first sentence was my reply to you, the second was me criticising the game industry.
Took them a while to realize that.

If you really think about it, almost every FPS game ever released is a map pack, Unreal 1 is a map pack for the Unreal engine, Quake 2 is a map pack for the Quake engine, Crysis is a map pack for the CryEngine, HL2 is a map pack for the Source engine.

but still, you didn't get mad :<

wait are you working for valve or something
also yeah i am sorry it's completely different with the hl2 episodes, mp maps are nothing but quick doodoo compaired to the sp maps that need a team of crackshot developers to make.

Yeah in a way, but those series didn't release 3 almost identical games with nothing but new maps.

obviously if we have no valid arguments we should just accuse our opponent of having a conflict of interest with no evidence

yeah "haha go die" is very valid counterargument too.
At least 35 of them will be repetitive sports titles, sequels, or movie tie-ins.
At last.
Now only if Activision pledged this.
This is just EA reacting to the credit crunch.
I doubt the games will be better quality, they'll just make less games so they have less chance of losing money.
Those are good news and they make me happy.
Thank the fucking lord.
Ain't it the truth.
Aren't the only games developed by EA the crappy sports ones? Enforcing quality standards for the developers under their umbrella isn't going to make them put out more wholesome products.
I'm guessing EA are cutting more devs?
I hope EA isn't being retarded and lying, I wouldn't be surprised if they were.
ps: they need to make those SSX games again, they were the only good snowboard games.
