Oh and by the way they didn't shut down Pandemic they just downsized them. There's a new Mercenaries game in the works.
There is? I hope they pay more attention to the PC version rather than one patch and no DLC. :saddowns:
< 2010: EA SUX lol > 2010: EA ROX lol
Goddamn finaly.
HAH. I'll believe it when I see it.
The pigs already flew.
Ah well, least they made a ton of money from the shit games they made.. Shame people are catching to their bullshit, maybe you could have made more money! Get Out Of Here EA, sell your sims rights to someone who actually gives a shit!
Now only if Activision pledged this.
Ahahahahahahaha
Atleast they actually realise there's a problem, and that they're listening to the consumer. Good on 'em for trying.
Quality beats quantity any day. Look at Valve.
if it weren't for the open source nature of Valves games not only would they be about half as popular but this forum wouldn't even exist. I think companies could learn a lot from how valve structures their games. Modifiability seems to be the ultimate anti aging doctrine a developer could utilize.
Some how I think they're going to make "Fewer games" but with "More expansions that contain basically all the shit you kinda wanted in the first place."
Fuck off, EA. Trying to reprimand. I will have none of it!
Good. I hate it when companies just pull games out of there ass.
Finally, they're seeing sense at last. Better to churn out a few good games than a bunch of shite ones. Quantity don't equal quality, as the wise ones say.
In some cases it does, but since ea's games were priced the same as good ones...
What's this? EA Getting better? I guess they finally realized they sucked and are trying to correct it.
Considering the bullshit Activision has been pulling, EA realizes this is the time to get everyone to love them again.
Yea well it's too late to bring back Will Wright EA, he's gone from you and you will never get to ruin another one of his great games again, I.E. The Sims and Spore.
Another dead space? Fuck yes.
Now only if Activision pledged this.
Activison sets new goal: Fewer games, but more dead babies
Oh and by the way they didn't shut down Pandemic they just downsized them. There's a new Mercenaries game in the works.
I thought a few remaining employees went to EA Los Angeles to work on Mercs Inc, but branding it being made by Pandemic?
Gotta admit, DEAD SPACE was fucking badass.
Gotta admit, DEAD SPACE was fucking badass.
Best game by EA, ever. EVER.
Best game by EA, ever. EVER.
Yeah, one of the few really good games out there. I still see it as kind of a redemption for EA.
Too bad the dlc was only for consoles. fucking ea.
O_O Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Will EA become the next Valve? Doubt it, but it will still be interesting.
Why can't they just release the sports game one per generation with often DLC / expansions / updates? It'd be weird for the Wii, PSP and PS2 but still
Why can't they just release the sports game one per generation with often DLC / expansions / updates? The answer to your question is that people would rather buy a game than a bunch of dlc packs.
Singleplayer map packs ≠ multiplayer map packs The HL episodes offered a genuine extension to the story, not like other DLC which patches on a quest or something. They offered a solid 5-7 hours of gameplay and a compelling story and for $20 that's fair.
ep1 = nothing happened ep2 = stop combine backup. wow genuine extension to the story!! ball cradler
Why can't they just release the sports game one per generation with often DLC / expansions / updates?
Engine upgrades would be difficult Similar to why Gmod isn't compatible with L4D and L4D2 without extensive conversion.
VPKs are a bitch when it comes to getting the content out.
I think this is their way of putting a positive spin on this: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jY2qB9H7OTwlHswAN-jULE_9KukQD9BSRUG81
Shares of Electronic Arts Inc. took a hit Tuesday, the day after the video game publisher said it is cutting 1,500 jobs ...
With 1500 less people, no shit they'll be making fewer games.
Ive been playing the sims since it came out... I Hate waiting for the expansions...
Well, that's good to hear. [editline]12:51PM[/editline] Way to go, EA!
