Down here in the People's Republic of Australia, Johnny Law sees no difference between actual firearms and airsoft/paintball guns.
Paintball is okay in Canada, and airsoft is too, as long as it doesn't look like a real gun. (It must be clear, ect.)
I'm totally pro gun registration. Its not a bad thing, and it help to keep track of who owns guns. Its worth the money that we pay for it. It shouldn't be scrapped.

Only the reciever though, i've seen some examples of CDN legal airsoft guns where everything but the reciever looks authentic.

Yeah, that's what I mean. I did a big search on it once, looking to find out how I maybe could import one.
God-fucking damnit. I hate the long-gun registry.
So are the people who used those other 7% in crimes more easily caught because the guns are registered?
If so, it helps.
Explain to me how they are easily caught? fired bullets and spent shells don't magically tell you the make and model of the gun used, let alone its registration number :colbert:
I mean even what kind of bullet was used doesn't tell you even the vaguest class of firearm, as there are plenty of rifles out there which fire .357 and 9mm, and plenty of pistols that fire .22lr and so on
Yet again, we got fucked by the NDP.
i didnt know the NDP had 153 seats in the HoC
Yeah, that's what I mean. I did a big search on it once, looking to find out how I maybe could import one.
There aren't really any set laws on airsoft guns, its in the grey area of the law. I personally own a few full black guns.

If Stoffer had voted against the registry it would've been a tie, man!

Exactly. Anyone else realize that sides are totally opposite, that the Conservatives should be pro-gun registry and the liberals pro-scrap?
Exactly. Anyone else realize that sides are totally opposite, that the Conservatives should be pro-gun registry and the liberals pro-scrap?
The liberals introduced it, though?
What sort of point is there in registering bolt action rifles and such?
Are drive-by bayonettings a problem in Canada?
are you sure that wasn't an sks
It was an ak model methinks ak-103

Forensic science is pretty advanced. you can measure the velocity, powder, the angle or possible distance it was fired at and how many feet per second the bullet traveled. it can be narrowed down quickly with the right equipment, science and evidence.

Let me guess, you saw a Saiga?

who gives a shit
this thread is about an inefficient long gun registry
Let me guess, you saw a Saiga?
Maybe, in California a semi-auto shotgun with a detachable clip is considered an assault weapon so it might have been a saiga.
Maybe, in California a semi-auto shotgun is considered an assault weapon so it might have been one.
Saiga makes rifles too.
Now that i'm looking at that picture I posted I don't think it's a genuine saiga but you get the point.
Izhmash makes Saiga weapons and ak's
But yeah I guess it could be a Saiga, It could also just be an ak variant
Edit: I should have mentioned that many cartridges here are limited to ten rounds, It was not an SKS

Ah okay, sorry bro.
Wouldn't CaNaDa be CND...?
CDN just makes me think of webservers.
The long gun registry is a pointless, never used, insecure waste of money. I hate how the Liberal, NDP, and Bloc try to make out the legal gun owners as horrible criminals who need to be stalked, else they'll do haneous things to support stuff like this. Most legal gun owners don't use their gun to commit a crime, it's too much time and too many restrictions if they're going to break the law, if they want to commit a crime, they'll get the gun quickly and illegally, why do they care, they're already going for at least attempted murder, why care about firearms laws. Police never check the registry, they treat every situation where they enter a home as if there is a gun there, because of how many illegal guns there are. Instead of wasting time and money oppressing those responsible enough to take the courses and get the license, they should be focusing on the rehabilitation of gangsters, stricter border policy to prevent the illegal smuggling of weapons in from the States, and cracking down on illegal gun owners/gun crime with better amnesty incentives to allow the RCMP to acquire and dispose of illegal weaponry, and stricter punishment for those convicted of gun crimes. Legal gun owners aren't the problem here, so why keep targeting them?
Phew, I thought CA meant california.
Vehicles are registered so as to pay to keep the roads maintained. Why weapons, though? They dont cause wear on any public utilities...
Goody, continued real-life DRM for us.
Fuck you NDP.
They should all be burned alive.
Oh dear god no this is the end of Canada as we know it
Seriously, you register your car so why not your guns?
Do you have to have a license to own a car? No
When your license expires do they storm your house/property and confiscate your car by force? No
Do you register matches or lighters? They can easily lead to arson or forest fires which are very destructive. No
Does your car suddenly change "classes" and become illegal and they come to your home, force ably take your car and give you no compensation? No.
I can go on and on.
The long gun registry and registering guns in generally is a waste of fucking money and time and criminalizes citizens
Oh no, people have ten minutes more work in their lives by filling out a form
You've never registered a gun so you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
Have fun wasting hours registering EVERY gun you own, having to fill out paper after bullshit paper and sending it all in and waiting for it to be cleared

Ok lets start registering everything we own! Every animate object should be registered, since it would be a good thing to keep track of who owns what animate object right? We can waste millions of dollars per year and keep track of items and have no positive outcome at all! it will be awesome right?

Please tell you are joking. If not you are a fucking fool.
Go watch some more CSI: Miami, cause you obviously know SO much about forensic science. Did Herashio Cane whisper those things that we can measure in your ear while you were in la la land?
It must suck dicks to attempt to hold that thing :colbert:
I don't see why that guy can't just put a Solargrip around an AK pistol grip, circumventing the whole "assault weapon" thing:
[img_thumb]http://www.parallaxtactical.com/store/images/ak_magblk2_5_02.jpg[/img_thumb]
It's quite popular in California, I'm pretty sure you could do that in Canada too.
Fuck!
