is someone going to summarize the bill yet
Goverment will provide Americans who are uninsured with a basic healthcare plan.
Oh boy, I cant wait to pay for other people, OH MAN i'm so excited :D
Goverment will provide Americans who are uninsured with a basic healthcare plan.
No. No public option. There'll be a mandate for mostly everyone (except those in prison, illegal immigrants, and those with religious objections) to buy healthcare in a marketplace that will be known as an "exchange", so there'll be competition between insurance companies. If you have insurance through your job, you can keep that. And lots of other shit that I'm too lazy to type out, but there'll be subsidies and all that lovely shit. Uncle Sam and Medicare. You're already paying for them. I can't wait to pay for other people's police protection, fire protection, or protection from invasion either. :downs:

Good explanation from the Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/21/AR2010032101637.html TL;DR: Good for you. [editline]03:59AM[/editline]
I already love doing all that though, I can't wait to do it even more, i'm so happy right now
You'd rather pay for every time the cops came, every time the fire department came to save your ass? What should we do about socialized highways?
I smell gunpowder rising in the South...
Big Dumb American, you're about to be able to get your surgery.
Actually it will be upwards of four years before any of this can possibly take effect.
Bohener acted like a scaremongering piece of shit right up until the end, bravo. That Republican screaming "Baby killer!" at Stupack was real classy, too.
I already love doing all that though, I can't wait to do it even more, i'm so happy right now
So, you are in the high and highest tax bracket? The middle class and the rich are the ones who pay the most. The middle class pays a bit, but there are so many of us, that it adds up to a lot. The rich pay a lot because its few of them. But then the rich don't really have to worry because, well, they're rich. Oh, and I hope you don't go to a public school. Or even a state college or university.
It STILL puzzles me that it's the only option. really, why NOT have an option.
hahaha, people just started arguing about the bill in some random page on Facebook about bumping into dogs, and I'm caught between laughing at the stupidity and being fearful that this many people are this stupid
Well, my taxes just went up. I hate that, but this is for the better.
It STILL puzzles me that it's the only option. really, why NOT have an option.
You can choose what insurance company you buy coverage from.
Actually it will be upwards of four years before any of this can possibly take effect.
Are you for or against this bill, it seems like you're mostly against it :|
Are you for or against this bill, it seems like you're mostly against it :|
Are you still deciding? LOL.
Are you still deciding? LOL.
no i just want to know because lankist is generally knowledgeable about these things, especially this since he went through the bill a dozen times apparently.
Well, my taxes just went up. I hate that, but this is for the better.
You're telling me you make over $200,000 a year?
I hope Rush Limbaugh keeps his promise about leaving the country.
Oh, and I hope you don't go to a public school. Or even a state college or university.
Why?
You're telling me you make over $200,000 a year?
Shit, give me bad reading.
Why?
Because those are paid for with government funding.
Because those are paid for with government funding.
Oh, I thought he meant they were going to somehow be negatively affected by this.
You're telling me you make over $200,000 a year?
It's sad when we think that's a large amount of money when there are some people who make that much in a few hours, or even a day... :(
Actually it will be upwards of four years before any of this can possibly take effect.

In four years
Yeah I know, but still.
It's sad when we think that's a large amount of money when there are some people who make that much in a few hours, or even a day... :(
its cause those people earn it with hardwork i mean, lifting up a pen or stroking keyboard is hard and makes you sweat 24/7. those who dont make that much money are lazy bastards, you know, the kind that involves pansy construction working, roofing, mining coal, and etc. fucking parasite.
no i just want to know because lankist is generally knowledgeable about these things, especially this since he went through the bill a dozen times apparently.
I'm actually pretty apathetic, I just don't get why proponents for universal healthcare would want this crap.
