Best kind of community, IMO.
This is why I hate going to school in studio city. Only one kid there can actually have an argument without turning in to a flamefest. We come up with the most ridiculous conclusions though, one time we thought of a plan that we would extract rednecks of their brain power and turn it in to electricity.

Speaking of which... *brb*

Whelp, I'm moving to Canada. I hope your "country" formerly know as the Great United States of America literally burns to the ground. Good bye, and have fun worshiping your socialist dictator Barack Hussein Osama (bid Laden). (User was banned for this post ("troll" - Lithifold))

Thread is going down a bad road right now.
You're not on youtube. You'll see many arguments on facepunch that are completely irrational and insane.
Fixed. :eng101:
Notice how not a single Republican voted for it? Not one. That speaks volumes right there, that they only care for themselves and not the people they're there to serve... Atleast some Democrats voted NAY so they atleast look human
The above poster is very ignorant. I mean, the amount of ignorance in the above post fucking affected me inside. Anyway, the system we have now is just fine. Only 15% of Americans are uninsured, and those who are insured get the best coverage. What you people don't realize is that a universalized system causes long waiting times of weeks. For example, I have some family in Canada. My cousin broke his arm and had to wait 3 weeks to get a fucking doctor to look at it. Here in the US, it took less than an hour when I broke my arm. @TheTalon, you do realize that both parties are working for their own gain right? The political party system in America is completely corrupt, as in, both parties do whatever it takes to advance their own agenda.
Creationism Kids don't cause any trouble.
Yeah because their heads are so far up their own arses they can't see their monitors anymore.
This is good to hear, hope it doesn't take too long.

All I can say is good. This goes to show that the stereotypical view of Americans lacking common sense is false. Also, to all the people criticising socialism: what's the problem? At the end of the day, if a political system, or part of it, is introduced and it works, why worry? Hell, I have never said a good thing about Communism, but if it could be implemented correctly and it worked well then I would gladly accept it.
I head my mom telling Nancy Pelosi to fuck off. I take it she doesn't like the bill. Me, I honestly don't give a shit.
Nancy Pelosi is probably the easiest target for any idiot pundit to attack, even though the only thing she does is follow her party. At least when someone makes fun of her for being very liberal instead of making fun of Palin for being a complete idiot, she doesn't go ARRRGH MAINSTREAM MEDIA BAAAW.

Also, 36 states are filing lawsuit against the Federal government for using that slaughter rule or whatever. Its kind of outrageous how Congress is violating the constitution.

The republicans don't just serve the people who wanted this thing, they also serve the people who didn't want it and they sided with them, else they get voted out. Besides, if they did support this thing, would there really be a difference between the two parties?

Besides, if they did support this thing, would there really be a difference between the two parties?
Mitch McConnell said it at some point, the whole point of Republican tactic was to simply keep delaying it. There was no "bipartisanship" (Gee, how everyone loves that word, using the same arguments that one-party states use), at least in trying to work together and fix the bill. Republicans once only offered a re-hash of their plan to allow insurance companies to sell their policies across state lines. Concept worked wonderfully with our banks, don't you think?
Its kind of outrageous how Congress is violating the constitution.
Why didn't they cry about this all the previous times budget reconciliation was used? Somehow I doubt their concern is completely over constitutionality.
I'm picking up hints of exageration and bullshit here. Are you honestly saying that he had to sit around with an unplastered unbroken arm for 3 weeks?
Oh my. Socialized health care could not possibly have any flaws. Both health care systems have their advantages and flaws. It's not that hard to grasp.
Why didn't they cry about this all the previous times budget reconciliation was used? Somehow I doubt their concern is completely over constitutionality.
Because those times it was used for the Budget, not sweeping reform.
Because those times it was used for the Budget, not sweeping reform.
Medicare Prescription Drug Plan? Both Bush tax cuts? Those are enormously expensive and sweeping.
