I agree with your main point, but alcohol withdrawal isn't always fatal. and heroin withdrawal isn't always safe, and you can die if you're sick enough from withdrawls...just clearing things up a bit.

alcohol withdrawal is not fatal (brain death is super uncommon and only occurs if the withdrawal is not treated)
Sorry I meant to say can be fatal not is [editline]17th January 2014[/editline]
Only thing that gives me pause about full legalization of hard drugs is that I don't really think addictive drugs are all that much better off in the hands of corporations than cartels, if at all.
At least corporations can be held somewhat accountable for their actions, at least relatively to drug cartels
I mean, as long as your not causing trouble doing it. Why not be allowed?
My parents have been smoking it for the longest time, and they're both extremely productive people with well-paying jobs. They're some of the nicest people I know as well. We live in a quite large and beautiful home. The stereotype "all weed doers are lazy smelly jobless hippy assholes nag nag" never fails to piss me off. Out of all stupid generalizations out there, that one irritates me the most because I have the 'proof' against it, albeit anecdotal. I don't do it myself or any other sort of drug, but man, just let people do what they want. Who gives a fuck what people do in their own home or where it isn't affecting anyone else. If they're being indecent in public about it, treat them like you would a drunk person in public. Public intoxication. It's that simple. Just treat it like alcohol, at the very least.
I like person, and I'm a good weed too. Only thing that bugs me is when those who smoke it prioritize weed over things like... friends. Seriously had a friend bail on us because he had to go meet his dealer for something.

I'm also a weed-using Ohioan and (hopefully) a pretty nice guy interesting to note that getting caught with weed is basically a parking ticket in Ohio. It's still illegal, but frequently a police officer will tell you not to do it again if you just have a joint or something, and if you have more on you you'll get basically the same fine that you'd have to pay for a parking ticket, so the penalties really aren't that bad. Ohio's one of the most weed-friendly states besides the ones which have actually legalized it.

Don't think anyone can generalize the drug enforcement of an entire state, since it really comes down to how the local PD handles cases, and how much they actually care about recreational drug use.
>registered republican good person may be a stertch (User was banned for this post ("Green text meme reply" - Craptasket))
jeez that wasn't a statement i made in earnest i didnt know you guys took shit so seriously
Since when is ">" bannable It's not a fucking meme, it's quotation
I agree with you, but to be fair we already have a quote system. As for weed... I live in Quebec where the amount of teens who end up smoking weed is somewhere around 50%. It's really not something you can avoid. Most of my friends did it, but once we were past college most of them stopped for various reasons. I'm 25 now and I have only a tiny handful of friends who still smoke it. Personally, I can't be near the stuff: I break out in rashes and my breathing gets all fucked up. I can't even touch it without my skin getting red. Being around it for more than an hour or two at a time leaves me with headaches for 2-3 days, along with dizzyness and lingering breathing problems. Tobacco doesn't even come close to having the same effect, so I'm left with the conclusion that I am somehow allergic to weed.

joints dont have filters as opposed to cigarettes so it may be harder on the throat. also i hate how some people who frequently smoke and drink alcohol think that weed is somehow inherently lowbrow compared to the aforementioned.
yeah thats how texas sees it, but fuck it lol
plenty of people in texas are pro-legalization the liberal people are duh and lots of more libertarian people support it too

I think this documentary should be able to dispel some misconceptions:
>registered republican good person may be a stertch (User was banned for this post ("Green text meme reply" - Craptasket))
Calling people out based on their political views as opposed to personality. You ain't all rainbows and sunshine there either, kiddo.
plenty of people in texas are pro-legalization the liberal people are duh and lots of more libertarian people support it too
yeah, but this is a conservative state and is still seemingly not even considering medical use last time i checked. But i could be wrong

Weed possession in ohio can be an automatic license suspension (regardless if you were in a car at the time)
This may not be consistently enforced but... Weed possession in ohio can be an automatic license suspension (regardless if you were in a car at the time)
Glad I grew up in California. Edit: Was pulled over multiple times (I'm an unlucky good driver) and the cop always gave me back my weed. Sometimes in a different bag.
This may not be consistently enforced but... Weed possession in ohio can be an automatic license suspension (regardless if you were in a car at the time)
This is the same in Florida. http://norml.org/laws/item/florida-penalties "Conviction causes a driver’s license suspension for a period of 2 years." Like, what the fuck? Why is this even a law? [editline]19th January 2014[/editline] It's bad enough that if I'm caught for <20g I can do up to a year in prison and up to a $1000 fine.
well you're a dangerous marijuana addict likely to use some deadly marijuana needles on yourself and you must be stopped, Nixon wills it. it's left over age old drug war crap that'll have to be dealt with in the near future. It's crazy how the US is getting marijuana legalized even in a few states and Canada, and BC are still lagging behind even though we've had such a movement to push for it and the majority of the reason we kept it illegal was the US telling us to.
