Everyone who is not going to buy this because it's "dumbed down for PC" is an idiot and is hopping on the bandwagon.
Everyone who is not going to buy this because it's "dumbed down for PC" is an idiot and is hopping on the bandwagon.
Sounds reasonable. So I guess I'll just not get it because it looks played out.
There's no way I'm not trying this out, I loved the first Crysis and can't wait to try out what they've done with the second.
Kudos to Rayjingstorm for actually having some balls.
You don't need balls to post your opinion of a video game on the internet. Also, I seriously doubt they're going to downgrade graphical quality for the PC.
From what I've played in both Crysis and the multiplayer demo currently on the 360, nothing is dumbed down - while you can't manually set Maximum Speed anymore, theres just a sprint button that activates it, but why would you ever activate Maximum Speed for anything else but that. Same goes for strength, which is either just jumping high by holding the jump button or pressing the punch button to hit a object or a player. Compared to Crysis 1 there's loads of more ways to get around now. You can climb up stuff and slide around after a sprint.
Everyone who is not going to buy this because it's "dumbed down for PC" is an idiot and is hopping on the bandwagon.
I'll still buy it because I support what Crytek has done to push forward graphics in video games. What I won't like about it is the claims that it will look better then the first game. Sorry Cevat, higher res textures aren't as important as the design, and the jungle design beats the city design hands down.
I played one match of the demo, it was really laggy, took 3 minutes to find a game, and the only guy I saw was running around one shotting me with a shotgun from 10 yards away. :saddowns:

Xbox version that is. I'd like to see the difference between the PC and it.

I'd love if the game suffered from frame rate issues on consoles. It would show the uneducated part of the console community that PC is not inferior just because their Emachines PC can't run it. NOTE: I am in no way saying that all console gamers have that opinion. But any console gamer that I know believes PC is worse. And of course, they all run acers or emachines.

I still like being able to manually pick my suit setting than have them done automatically
Thank god for this, the 360 demo won't work for me and a lot of other people. Crashes on load screens every time.
Not to mention if the first game is any indication the community will be able to do high resolution texture and model modifications.
I will preface this by stating that I have noticed your use of the word "if", but how well the community mods the game does not apply to the current context of the the discussion. I don't know how the graphics will compare from xbox to PC, but from the video I just saw, I'm not overly impressed. All of what I've said so far is hypothetical anyway. Nothing is definite right now. I'm just venting my frustrations with gaming developers in general.
I wish there was a "That's sad" rating for posts...
The reason the requirements are lower is because they made a better optimized engine. It looks better then CE2 but runs better. At least that was what Crytek was saying a year back. Things could have changed.
I'm not going to buy this game, nor any game, which dumbs down any part of the gaming experience on the PC because of consoles.
that's stupid you're gonna miss out on awesome games have fun with your boring game existence
I don't wish to sound like I think PC deserves the most respect in the gaming community (even though it does) because I understand companies make games to earn profits, and when an Xbox demo makes you more money, you release it. But, I feel like PC games are slowly being shoved into the back seat, and I don't like it. I'm not going to buy this game, nor any game, which dumbs down any part of the gaming experience on the PC because of consoles.
You do realize Crytek has stated that consoles are holding PC gaming back right? They haven't forgotten their roots which makes it pretty obvious they care about the PC fans and have only released the Xbox demo because Micro$oft paid extra money to. Crysis 2 is developed onto the PC, and the PS3 and 360 versions are also redone versions to work around the console. If I remember correctly, PC looks the best, PS3 is in second, and Xbox is last in the graphics department.
So far c2 hasn't dumbed down anything on pc. Graphics will be so much better than on consoles and we also get sandbox.
But the nanosuits are so weird. They're so goddamn simplified (while being a tiny bit more streamlined) on the console. No Strength mode? Also, I didn't see any destruction (like in Crysis 1).
Kudos to Rayjingstorm for actually having some balls.
lol what you call balls
I want it now.
Showing self control and standing for what he thinks is right?
dude all he said is he's not buying games chill the fuck out
Am I the only one who believes this looks like The Specialist with shitty nano-suits, and CoD gloosy toy soldier shit?
Playing the xbox 360 demo of the crysis 2 multiplayer, it's similar to call of duty, which i think in my opinion, the game was lowered down a bit. I like the old crysis war Capture the point and develop alien technology and nuke the base gamemode, it was fun. However after playing this... I no longer see that element.
Anyone annoyed by the lack of ironsight animations? Once you go into ironsight, the weapons' animations for firing suck really bad, and moving while in ironsight is completely still.
Am I the only one who believes this looks like The Specialist with shitty nano-suits, and CoD gloosy toy soldier shit?
Not even.

Horrible sequel. Doesn't mean it isn't fun. I kind of wished they hadn't made it so consolized.
No Strength mode?
Thats the default mode you're in.
Horrible sequel. Doesn't mean it isn't fun. I kind of wished they hadn't made it so consolized.
And it's consolized how?
