I think I should be able run this game perfectly fine on max with no AA yet my FPS is below 30 all the time. They recommend a core 2 duo processor with an 8800GTS and 2GB RAM. There should be no reason this game is performing this poorly on my computer.
Think next time before trying to be a smartass.

I'm sorry what was that?
I think there is something wrong with your PC as you should be running this game like butter. It isn't that demanding. I have the exact same computer as you and I get this:

I didn't do any "DX9" crap either that some people do to get it to perform better.
How much did that pc cost :v: ?

You have 64 bit Windows 7 too?
What the shit is wrong here.
EDIT:
I'm starting to think it has to be some kind of issue with the G5 mouse + G15 keyboard software.
EDIT:
Nope.
Well, it worked worse for me on win7 64 bit than on xp 32 bit.
It is one of my Favorite games, I thought it was going to fail for the Xbox but is Excellent, A lot of my Friend complain that it is a rip off of CoD 'cause it has perks weapons, attachments, ect But so do most games. :sigh:

But unlike CoD it will bring new things to the crysis series instead of rehashing everything from the previous game.

I'd much rather prefer power struggle with fixed netcode and more weapons than this cod clone with some gimmicks on top.
But what I would love the most is online AI + sandbox. No need for coop maps or anything, community will make them. Just give us mp npcs.

Yes I do. Reading your post, I thought it was me for a second since that is essentially my computer.

Whoa whoa whoa, did they remove power struggle? That was one of the best things to do in crysis wars.
Does anyone feel as though the weapons are really weird somehow?
I can't really hit anything while using ironsights, and it's even worse on sniper rifles.
In CoD, I can usually point the front post at someone quickly and accurately, but on Crysis 2, I can't seem to place it on the target at all.
And I only see people using shotguns.

There are no more big maps or vehicles.

Well it is only a MP public beta. This is when balancing and weapon tweaks are usually done.

I'm kind of glad about that because the matches would be too long and there really isn't wide enough room in Manhattan.

i have a G5 and a G15, doesn't have shit to do with anything. it did when the two came out but the only thing I can think of where it had any noticeable impact was Dark Messiah: Might and Magic, and it was a huge impact.
tip: don't run the original Crysis in 64-bit mode. it's hardly perfect and actually reduced performance (seriously), Crysis Warhead is the one you'll want to run in 64-bit.
[editline]30th January 2011[/editline]
also the reason Crysis + AA doesn't seem to do anything just dawned upon me - the engine doesn't include transparency AA. so, i'll whip up comparison screenshots of 16xQ AA with and without transparency AA
[editline]30th January 2011[/editline]
alright, here they are. there's a definitely noticeable difference. ignore the framerate, it doesn't even make any sense and i have something running in the background. again, both are everything Very High, anti-aliasing 16xQ for both.
transparency anti-aliasing on
[img_thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/wHdbxN.jpg[/img_thumb]
transparency anti-aliasing off

Is that why Crysis looked like it had no jagged edges even when my AA was at 0?

I tried running Crysis in 32 bit mode and it didn't affect performance.
...no. both of those screenshots have 16x AA. the reason why, at first, it looks like there are no jagged edges is because of the very complex distance blur and depth of field.
I tried running Crysis in 32 bit mode and it didn't affect performance.
well, it's not a drastic performance drop that you'll notice, but looking at raw data through comparison you'll find that 32-bit is still better, whether or not you notice.
there's really no benefit to 64-bit Crysis at all. even with Crysis Warhead, the improvement is very marginal, but at least an improvement whereas with Crysis it takes away 2-5 FPS.
There are no more big maps or vehicles.
So it's doing the same transition as cod2->cod4. That's just perfect.
Not implying cod4 was a bad game but these video game developers need to stop making small maps because consoles have trouble running them. Crysis 1 had maps that bordered on ridiculously large.

I beg to differ. On Techspot's x86 vs x64 benchmarks x64 scored higher in the original crysis. And I've noticed on my rig x64 does actually gain a few fps. But maybe I'm one of the only people who does.
GeForce 8800 GTX (768MB) 32-bit
1440x900 = 38.6fps
1680x1050 = 30.8fps
1920x1200 = 25.8fps
GeForce 8800 GTX (768MB) 64-bit
1440x900 = 45.6fps
1680x1050 = 36.4fps
1920x1200 = 30.0fps

I get an instant crash trying to run the retail, fully patched game from the 64 bit executable.

The only thing that saved blops from being a total disappointment was the offline multiplayer mode, something about it just feels so wrong to me that there's no way in hell I would play enough to unlock everything legitimately.

what are you talking about, cod2 was basically quake with ww2 weapons
I'm going to miss big maps and vehicles, Wars actually took tactics and thinking to win a game but now it's just aiming for the head like any other game
hoping the campaign will save it
Wars actually took tactics and thinking to win a game
i feel like i've played a totally different game to other people
as far as i remember crysis wars was actually pretty bad

By looking at one of the gamemodes Crysis 2 MP has, you have to have some decently sized maps. There is a even a control point type gamemode, you need something decently big for that.
The level I'm the most fond of is the huge valley with a bridge in the middle and tons of foliage, where being a wookie was incredibly effective and counter-sniping was a bitch, where you needed to be alert constantly for a sniper somewhere a mile away or a tank rolling through the trees or someone with an RPG over a ridge, where having a VTOL up made it much easier, etc
now it's just "run around a corner and shoot a guy in the face and do it looking like a BADASS" like literally every other game
Huh?
[img_thumb]http://www.techspot.com/articles-info/140/shots/crysis-4.jpg[/img_thumb]
That's a lot more visibility then other games. I have several screenshots with the same type of visibility/viewdistance so I'm not sure what you mean.
P.S. No that isn't my rig. 31fps is sad, I know.
No no no, the VISIBILITY CULLING didn't exist, there's so little optimisation.
If the requirements are lower than the first Crysis games.. FUCK
If the multiplayer gameplay is like CoD.. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
No no no, the VISIBILITY CULLING didn't exist, there's so little optimisation.
Ah I understand now. Well you know you can tweak that with configs right?
Also guys, stock very high sucks. Here's the modded config I run. Modded is on the right.

What? If the requirements are lower, wouldn't that be a good thing? That doesn't mean that the game looks worse than the first one did. We've all seen the trailers, and the game looks pretty damn good.
I really don't understand what you're bitching about.

I say let them push the visual bar as long as the game is scalable like it has been in the past.
This video is from April, and by the looks of it, they are.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZn7JuYZEaI
And there are countless other videos out there that show what Crysis 2 looks like, so I really don't see why anyone is concerned with the system requirements being lower than the first game. We already know it looks great, and Crytek have said that the PC version is superior to the console versions (obviously).
http://www.techspot.com/news/38605-crytek-crysis-2-will-be-graphically-superior-on-the-pc.html
And they even said it again a week ago.
