This video is from April, and by the looks of it, they are.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZn7JuYZEaI
And there are countless other videos out there that show what Crysis 2 looks like, so I really don't see why anyone is concerned with the system requirements being lower than the first game. We already know it looks great, and Crytek have said that the PC version is superior to the console versions (obviously).
http://www.techspot.com/news/38605-crytek-crysis-2-will-be-graphically-superior-on-the-pc.html
And they even said it again a week ago.

My issue is well it may look great, the jungle environment is simply more detailed and there's just something about the city environment that I find bland. Though I do admit it doesn't look like the typical new york seen in every other video game.
Also did anyone read some of the comments about the xbox demo? 9/10 comments were negative. But to be fair these are the people who bought consoles :P
And for anyone interested Crysis 2 Pc Demo Is Coming

right what do they know about good games HEHHEH

Well I hate to sound elitist but people who bought the playstation three at launch are just plain stupid people. I could never spend my money on hardware so unbelievably outdated, let alone $829 dollars when it came out.
I have a launch model ps3 :colbert:
And it wasn't outdated when it released, and considering how expensive Blu-ray players were back in 2007, it wasn't overpriced when it released, either.

that's dumb
unless you only buy brand new up-to-date shit, which in case, that's still dumb considering you'll pay shit loads for something that will be outdated next week

You go ahead and keep telling yourself the equivalent of a 7800GT, a 60GB HDD and 512mb total system ram wasn't outdated. Also you realize the Blu-ray drive only runs at 6x right? Back in 2007 the PS3 was overpriced because the drive was so slow.
I really hope with they're muiltplayer they just make it a Crysis game, not another call of duty. Also, I'm just getting it for the singleplayer on PC.

ah you see but you can't directly compare PC hardware to console hardware, because basically what you're saying that a computer with 7800GT and 512mb of RAM can run today's games at 720p, which it can't.
And besides, the PS3's Blu-ray drive doesn't run at 6x, it's actually 2x, and back in 2007, most Blu-ray players were reading at 2x, also.
As for the pricing, $400 Blu-ray players were Black Friday prices - they were actually even more expensive
[editline]wefe[/editline]
So expensive? yes. But was it overpriced for what it was capable of? Not really.
You bought LIVE just to play a demo?
He bought LIVE... for any reason.?
From what I've played in both Crysis and the multiplayer demo currently on the 360, nothing is dumbed down - while you can't manually set Maximum Speed anymore, theres just a sprint button that activates it, but why would you ever activate Maximum Speed for anything else but that. Same goes for strength, which is either just jumping high by holding the jump button or pressing the punch button to hit a object or a player.
Compared to Crysis 1 there's loads of more ways to get around now. You can climb up stuff and slide around after a sprint.
Strength holds your gun more steady when sniping, less recoil. Speed reloads faster, switches faster, melee's faster.

It was the equiv of a 7800GTX by the way. And even then, that's a moot point considering the games are generally optimized much better for a console than PC. That 7800GTX and 512mb ram goes much further.

it's still fairly uncommon for players today to have higher than 2x, actually.

the HDD doesn't mean shit, you can swap it out with just about any 2.5" drive. even SSD, have those been around for a long time?
half of the RAM is dedicated to the GPU, the other half is RDRAM which is for the Cell processor, but the GPU can use as well, do you know what RDRAM is? well, if not, which i'd assume, it's almost pointlessly fast.
6x in a Blu-Ray drive is not at all the same as 6x in a DVD/CD drive. however i don't think the drive came out at 6x, could be wrong, regardless it's a non-issue because the number does not translate directly to DVD or CD, not in the slightest.
[editline]31st January 2011[/editline]
also were Cell processors really like a dime a dozen or something or did i miss something? not saying it's the greatest, but how could considerably new* technology release outdated.
*not really new, but optimized and first use in consumer electronics

are you maybe speaking because, compared to modern titles, launch titles looked dated that the console itself is dated? because of software that was more or less half-assed?
not being a PS3 fanboy, most of this applies to the 360 just as well, compare any 360 launch title to something releasing this year, Crysis 2, for example. while it might not look as good as the PC version, it still looks pretty god damn good for a console, especially a console that's 5-6 years old.
So it sounds like the consoles have at least a little bit more beef than what meets the eye. Yet still, a 7800GT GPU equivalent is going to have some repercussions. I think the other half of the advantage is the hardware and software being the same for all consumers. If you can squeeze some performance out of the game, it's guaranteed to be seen on all PS3s or all 360s. Optimizing for the PC can be a juggling act.
Then there is the price to be dealt with. If you can go back to 2006, it was impossible to build a PC that would compete with the consoles at a fair price of $700 - $800, the best GPUs around were the $400 beasts like the 7900GT. It took about 2 years before people build something quite a bit faster than the consoles at a fair price. Sure, it is a no-brainer to build a PC now, but when the new consoles roll around in 2012/13, try to build a PC then. The new consoles are going to have a massive leap by that time, and it will be hard to build a PC with competeable performance and comparable price.
Whether you like it or not, the consoles at least have the advantage of being a redundantly massed produced electronic, which will give them an upper hand for about 2 years. Perhaps PC hardware has gotten better in price:performance, and maybe this time around we will see better competition during the initial release of the new consoles.
Finally, the "PC gaming is dying" argument is not true, and perhaps not true at all to some, but you have to recognize that consumer interest is now much more oriented in consoles. Sad, but true. What is more sad is the years that could have been spent getting over the tiny hurdles that keep people away from PC gaming, such as driver updates and overall ease of use. No, this is not hard to do and I wonder every day why console players think it is, but this is the relevant problem. Valve's attempts have been quite good with the support of auto-updating AMD video card products with STEAM, but it's not enough. I hope Microsoft upholds it's promise to make Windows 8 better for gaming, though somehow I get the impression that M$ is trying to slowly kill gaming for the PC.
Oh god, TL;DR
Dammit when is this out?
When is this out for PC
Nobody knows. They probably have a contract with M$ to keep the demo exclusive for a certain amount of time. You may not even see a demo until next month.
