Lol at guy trying to make UK look good, it took nearly 40 years for the brits to acknowledge Bloody Sunday when they shot at innocent civilians, and they still haven't even reprimanded the parachute regiment for it, I doubt they ever will.
I think the northern Irish have done a far better job of fucking themselves over through conflict then the rest of Britain ever could have. You are right though, every country does have its skeletons in its closet. The point is that Americas 'closet' has gotta be a few miles deep to hold all their frikkin skeletons. Wikileaks aim is to make sure all of those skeletons see the light of day so that those involved can be held accountable.
Funny thing is that the US has the greatest Military and general Armed Forces in the world.
you must be one of those poor souls who got brainwashed :downsbravo:
Lovin' the American bashing. Just because of what some soldiers do does not mean that they represent the entire country. Also, these war crimes are nothing compared to the Talibans. Thank you, good morning.
If these crimes are so few and of such small proportion compared to the Talibans, then the US should have nothing to worry about when Wikileak reveal said "incidents" to the public right?
Never said any of you are. My point is America isn't the greater of two evil's there.
Why cheer for any of the two evil's?
If these crimes are so few and of such small proportion compared to the Talibans, then the US should have nothing to worry about when Wikileak reveal said "incidents" to the public right? I wouldn't have a problem and I doubt the US would either if they released the documents AFTER the war. People can be hurt. Why cheer for any of the two evil's?Because there are necessary evils.

Fixed that for you.
Actually we don't have the largest, we just spend the most. By the way, our army isn't a bunch of untrained farmers. [editline]03:04PM[/editline]
Hey now, we finished up our conquering after WWII. You Yanks on the other hand have been trying to bully, coerce, and control every minor country in the world to this day. First it was the Native Americans, then the Filipinos, then the Third World, and now you're trying your hand at the Middle East. :v:
Afghanistan was a totalitarian government. Iraq was a totalitarian government. A few accidental civilian deaths amounts to nothing compared to the genocide committed by Saddam Hussein, and the mass murder committed by the Taliban during their reign.

Waterboarding is not a necessary evil. We spout that we are pro democracy and pro rights and all this bullshit and then we never admit when we do something wrong, and, even better, we don't even try to be the moral player in the way, even when that's the image we are trying to put out. This was directed at Sottaly. I can't quote and empty post.
Comparison. In the NATO Armies, most major of which is the UK, so we'll use that: fire a missile, hit a civilian target, severe reprimandation. In the US army: "Hey look, a civ-eeleeean buildin', shoot it and kill dem turrorist comm-you-nist-z inside a it! Haha! Watch dem commies burn! Oh shoot, people back home ain't gonna like dis, tell 'em it's an acc-ee-dent. Dun worry though corporal, yer gonna get promoted fer dis!" And basically, that's what happens. The US doesn't seem to care if their troops do anything wrong.
Hurf durf all americans are rednecks. Let me generalize you. Read in a cockney accent. "oi, toby, didnt ye hav te get a dentist pointment tooodaaay? no mum, wots a dentist?" What about all the war crimes you British did? You committed the worst crime in history. You fucked up an entire continent along with France. If it wasn't for your colonialism, most of Africa would be half decent.
-words that I can't quote-
But the US government won't be able to stand for their actions as well if it's all handled after the war, and if we're going by the idea that we have to do it after they've gone out of the war they could just simply start another goddamn war before anyone could publish anything. Also, there is not much necessary about covering up the acts of criminals. [editline]09:09PM[/editline]
I'd like some sources on these war crimes.
We will when Wikileaks settles :3:

This thread is full of missunderstandings. It's not about US having an evil army, it's about their warcrimes and how they do not punish for them good enough, the way I've understood it.
I'm pretty sure everyone else has skeletons TEN times the size of the US, since they probably have pulled of similar stunts time and time again over their pure existence...We've only been around two whole centuries :3:
Judging countries for what their past rulers did is a bit stupid, this however is in the present.
I never said anything about waterboarding...I never said anything about torture in fact.
But wouldn't that be one of the first things to come to mind? That's one of the big things the Bush Administration pulled to try to move forward in the war, and when it became clear that they were doing it, they had to defend it, making us seem less evil than the enemy. That's the bullshit we pull, we can do anything we want as long as we are less evil than them. You can't hide our crimes behind the veil of fingerpointing. "Oh look, we may have done this, but look what the TERRORISTS do!"
But America is an evil empire! Every single US soldier is a bloodthirsty psychopath!
Funny thing is that the US thinks they have the greatest Military and general Armed Forces in the world.
Finally fixed once and for all.

[editline]09:11PM[/editline] Pretty much how I see it too.
But the consequences of everybody elses' crimes are far worse. Look at Africa. Europe went in, economically exploited the continent then pulled out. The cultural borders already present were fucked up by lines drawn on a map and then enforced arbitrarily. When Europe left Africa, there were a whole bunch of people who fucking hated eachother that were living together. When Europeans left, nothing stopped the groups from killing eachother. And guess what, they started genocides. [editline]03:19PM[/editline]
Finally fixed once and for all.
We've only lost 1 war, and we have 1 draw (now).

Are they still hiding something?
Thats not the point. The point is those governments did bad things, and they should still be responsible for them. The governments in charge now should help the countries they fucked up in the past.
Finally fixed once and for all.
We DO. We we're fighting the Japanese and The Germans in World War II, We have one of the most flexible militarys,We do what other countrys are scared to do. We are currently #1 on the worlds super powers right now currently. Anyway, Even if they are protected the CIA are going to snatch them anyway.
It doesn't matter if someone else's crimes are worse. If we could expose them, I wouldn't mind. However now it is the US that can be exposed, and they should be exposed Just like how we should expose any other country doing these things. [editline]09:27PM[/editline]
Thats not the point. The point is those governments did bad things, and they should still be responsible for them. Wikileaks is the first real definition of patriotism that I have ever seen. Instead of blindly joining the military and worshiping the flag like most self proclaimed patriots do. Wikileaks is exposing the corruption that our government has been carrying on behind our backs.

I didn't notice any corruption in their leaks

You're run by one of the most corrupt and hands-down the most-hated governments in the world. You've massacred untold millions of innocent Native Americans all just to control one small space of land. You forcefully took over the Philipines, Hawaii, and other formerly-independent nations by coersion and military bullying. You're one of the most bigoted countries in the world. You've invaded the Middle East, killed tens of thousands of civilians, and torn apart their very way of life and culture all in the pursuit of a handful of terrorists. Worst yet, while we Brits recognize and accept our war crimes, you Yanks lie about them, cover them up, or deny them entirely.
the truth will set you free prepare for world war 3

I lol'd at this.
Basically everything American's done is Great Britain's fault since without them dicking around in new area's America wouldn't have been born. :holy: :holy: :holy: :holy: :holy:
To be down to earth honest with you, America has been involved in the majority of all major wars in some form or other through the 20th and early 21st century, i'm not saying that their bad or anything, just that they like to get involved often in matters that don't concern them.
Which war crimes in particular are we talking about
I'm with GunFox on this one.
Which sounds worse, hm?
