No, I got there first. I own the land there I have the deed and all.
Yeah, but I'm ON the land! And I've got friends with me! :smug:

I'm on the fence regarding a mandatory helmet law anyone who doesn't wear a helmet is a moron though. law or not, I'd wear a helmet on a bicycle or motorcycle
I'm on the fence regarding a mandatory helmet law anyone who doesn't wear a helmet is a moron though. law or not, I'd wear a helmet on a bicycle or motorcycle
Finally, something we can agree on.
ATGATT Motorcyclists need to live by that, I know I'm going to. Sure some make the excuse "I'm only going down the road for 2 minutes". Its still a risk I would not take in favour of convenience.
I'm on the fence regarding a mandatory helmet law anyone who doesn't wear a helmet is a moron though. law or not, I'd wear a helmet on a bicycle or motorcycle
The idea behind mandatory helmet laws is to make people look less cool when riding motorcycles, thus reducing the number of assholes on the roadway.
The idea behind mandatory helmet laws is to make people look less cool when riding motorcycles, thus reducing the number of assholes on the roadway.
I would have thought full faced helmets to look pretty badass.
I would have thought full faced helmets to look pretty badass.
Yes, reducing the number of assholes while slightly increasing the number of badasses.
How dense can someones skull be, really?
people can be as stupid as they want as long as they are only harming themselves and are aware of the dangers. laws like these only waste everybodys time
Yes helmets are for your own safety but there shouldn't be a law forcing you to wear a helmet. It should be up to the person to decide what he wants.
It's the same deal with seat belts. The police don't want to scrap your corpse off the pavement if you crash into a wall at 50mph and get smeared over the highway for 200 feet, same deal with helmets; they don't want to wash brains off the highway. Then you get into the whole deal with people with children; what if they don't wear their helmet, and get into a fatal crash where a helmet could have saved them and not orphaned the kids/left them with just one parent?
Reminds me of the vehemently anti-seat belt guy who got ejected out of his car while his friends all loved.
http://news.yahoo.com/ny-motorcyclist-dies-ride-protesting-helmet-law-143217859.html I know it's sad and all somebody dying. But ... the irony is so immense I think I need to sit down.
Not the best representation of my city. Makes me sad to see he died, but it's fucking stupid what he was doing.
words cannot describe the amount of irony here
Troopers say Contos would have likely survived if he had been wearing a helmet.
Oh come on! That's just salting the wound.
Laws like these are destroying natural selection :saddowns: :v: [editline]4th July 2011[/editline]
How dense can someones skull be, really?
Not dense enough to save his brain by acting as a helmet apparently Dohohoho
not wearing a helmet is one thing, but riding a HARLEY?
people can be as stupid as they want as long as they are only harming themselves and are aware of the dangers. laws like these only waste everybodys time
I don't see how it's a waste of time, it's legally required to wear PPE at manufacturing, construction and other site where there might be dangerous circumstance, why should a car or motorcycle be any different?
Libertarians They acknowledge that it's stupid. But they argue that it's their right to be stupid, and the government should have no say. Same reason they often argue for legalization of all drugs, and against seat belt laws, etcetera.
I see you're implying all drugs being legal is an idiotic thing to see
I see you're implying all drugs being legal is an idiotic thing to see
Marijuana? Sure The other drugs that shit on your brain while slapping it and calling it a bitch? Ehhhh
What I find disgusting is that people who protest this don't think at all about what their families would have to go through (and pay) if they were to die doing something stupid like not wearing a helmet.
People always make this stupid assumption that your family cares about you. They really don't.
Here in Norway, motorcycle helmets are mandatory and no-one bitches about it. Why does everything have to be so hard in the States?
People always make this stupid assumption that your family cares about you. They really don't.
Do you say stuff this dumb in real life? That would explain why your family doesn't care about you.
Do you say stuff this dumb in real life? That would explain why your family doesn't care about you.
No not really.
My irony meter just went batshit!
How dense can someones skull be, really?
Apparently not dense enough to keep from breaking in an extreamly ironic accident.
If only we had the Iron-e-Meter :/
Why should you have to have a helmet? You'd be the only one hurt if you crashed.
;30899481']Why should you have to have a helmet? You'd be the only one hurt if you crashed.
I'd imagine that if it were legal, insurance companies wouldn't pay out if you did cripple yourself while not wearing a helmet anyway, so it's kind of moot.
