Oh americans :3 Adorable paranoids
Nice job not reading the fricking thread article. An inspiration to us all.
Oh americans :3 Adorable paranoids
Oh Germans Such bad readers.
Oh americans :3 Adorable paranoids

Police were called to the Braehead shopping centre, near Glasgow after a man took a photo of his 4 year old daughter eating ice cream.
Oh Germans Adorable idiots.
Fuck you terrorists, making taking a picture of your daughter eating ice cream illegal.
These is an excellent example the absurd moral lapses in politics post 9/11 *cough* Patriot Act
Here we go proving that, once again, terrorism prevention acts are hindering all the wrong people. As to prohibiting photography... why?
Having worked retail, I can say prohibiting photography in places of business is a good thing. I, personally, do not want my picture taken while I'm at work, nor do I want to show up in someone elses' pictures accidentally. And I'm sure most customers feel the same way. [editline]10th October 2011[/editline]
Oh Germans Adorable idiots.
... Glasgow is in Scotland...
... Glasgow is in Scotland...
He knows, he was talking about the poster himself, who is German.
when the fuck did uk ever had a terrorist hit
All these terrorists regulations are bullshit. Taking photos of his daughter are in no way a threat to anyone. It's not like he was taking pictures of a nuclear reactor (even which he should still be entitled to do). Reminds me of this though
Oh americans :3 Adorable paranoids
You are either really drunk or an actual retard.
when the fuck did uk ever had a terrorist hit
are you serious
I'm not sure if it's the same in the UK, but in the US, Shopping Malls are typically private property - and if they do not want someone to take pictures on their property they are in their right to not allow them to do so.
A victory for common sense... Braehead has issued a formal apology to Chris, the contents of which can be seen below. Thanks to everyone who has supported this and brought it to the forefront of public debate. "Dear Mr White I am writing to formally apologise for the distress that we may have caused you and your family when you visited Braehead last Friday. As you may be aware, in light of your complaint and the public debate surrounding the incident, we have decided to change our photography policy to allow family and friends to take photos in the mall. Once again, I wish to sincerely apologise for any distress we may have caused, Kind regards Peter"
lmao

That's fair enough. Phoning the police was the step too far. All they had to do was ask him to stop taking photos, there was no need for police involvement.
Oh Germans Adorable idiots.
So easily offended.
lmao
Family and friends OF WHOM?

This sounds like something America would do.
Terrorism, the act of causing great fear and paranoia. Clearly Terrorists are winning if it's become illegal to photograph you're child in a public place because it can be used for plans to bomb the area. Pretty sad really. If everybody just got a long this wouldn't be an issue.
Mr. White? They fucked with the wrong father

Heisenberg?

Something they're entirely within their rights to do.
This sounds like something America would do.
Why is it when something stupid happens in america people say shit like this?
It's not illegal. It wasn't a public place. Management had prohibited photography. Something they're entirely within their rights to do.
I'd say the same thing but management is hiding behind the anti-terrorism legislation passed a few years ago.
There's an event on Facebook where everyone is invited to take photos :v: Brilliance.
10 people will show up, all of them will get arrested.
when the fuck did uk ever had a terrorist hit
Holy fucking shit, how can someone be so dumb and ignorant. Perhaps you should go look up some history of the last 30 years. Once again various anti-terror laws are being abused in relation to people taking photos, this shit really needs to stop. The laws themselves are a good idea but no one enforcing them seems to actually understand them. [editline]11th October 2011[/editline]
It's not illegal. It wasn't a public place. Management had prohibited photography. Something they're entirely within their rights to do.
This is an important thing to note, and a reason why the anti terror laws should not have been used in this case. If he was on public land taking suspicious photographs then the anti-terror law could have been used in a legitimate capacity.
It's depressing to hear that a Father, a grown adult nonetheless, can't even enjoy a day out with his daughter because of stupid policies like this. Something similar to this was put in place in New York City, but it applies to the Verrazano bridge leading into New Jersey. It's illegal to take photographs of the bridge from anywhere around it, including on the bridge and the walking path nearby. It isn't enforced, but I'm sure plenty of people have gotten in trouble for doing so.
Britain: Where taking photos is aiding and abetting terrorists, and maintaining constant video surveillance over the public at large is responsible crime prevention.
