It has to be something from Rover/Descent module itself. It's just laying on top of the dirt. If that thing had been sitting there for ages and ages, it wouldn't be on top of the dirt at all. And it's not just on top of the dirt, but even the small pebbles. It's nothing
What if it was a very tall obolisk, and that's just the tip as the dirt has built up around it?
Probably nothing too special, still interesting it could be a part of something of the lander.
Looks like a dead bug
They say it's probably a part that fell from the rover.
The chances of anything coming from mars are a million to one.
What the fuck, it looks like that thing I shat out this morning. How the hell did it get there!?
The chances of anything coming from mars are a million to one.
but they still come
What if it was a very tall obolisk, and that's just the tip as the dirt has built up around it?
Pretty sure that the rovers actually collected the metallic speck, and one doesn't just pick up an entire obelisk.
but they still come
"but still they come" You had one line goddamnit!
They say it's probably a part that fell from the rover.
but it looks like it's in the sand, and there is nothing around it that says it could be from the rover, and i'm pretty sure the rover isn't falling apart.
Guys, chill. It's only a weather balloon.
I am pretty amazed they spotted something so tiny, NASA is really on the ball. Just the thought of a robot millions of miles away on another world stopping to investigate a small piece of something is amazing even if it is just from a the rover/desent mechanism.
I'm still waiting for
Guys I solved it, its just a dead beetle...
It looks like a small, but dead slug or snail, with a metallic armor that they would slowly develop to protect themselves from UV rays.
Just a dead beetle on GODDAMN MARS
Scientific discovery of the millennium.
Scientific discovery of the millennium.
Unless it crawled inside the lander and fell off, coming from earth
Unless it crawled inside the lander and fell off, coming from earth
Lander was protected with immense precautions to prevent stuff like that from happening
I really hope this turns out to be a fossilized creature.
please please let the curiosity return a photo like this
Well, I will get ready to chose one of 3 colors then.
Well, I will get ready to chose one of 3 colors then.
Or refuse to chose anything.
The last screw when putting together furniture is always in the last goddamn place I think to look for it. Fuck you mars. You probably have all my missing socks too.
It's probably that one lego piece you're now looking for that you saw a million times while digging earlier
it's a piece of an escape pod they should check the area for jawas
alien soda can shred?
Some asshole in the JLP VAB didn't tighten a bolt properly just to troll us
Martians sure are a lot tinier than we expected.
it's probably hematite

This might be the only piece left of an alien civilization that died long ago.
That's always been my theory about Mars.
