The actual building didn't take too long to complete, but there was 5 years of arguing about the design before work started.
I'm glad 1WTC is almost done. It'll be a couple more years before the others are finished, though.

It started construction in 2009 I think.

i mean they spent like 8 years sifting through the rubble to get out any skeletal remains, shoring up the foundation, removing the rubble, and rebuilding the foundation before they could even start building upwards
i went there in 2010 and they only had the very beginnings of the tower started

Hell no. There should never be any kinds of religious establishments built on places where people died. Also, a mosque being built on ground zero would only incite racism, bigotry, and hatred from the narrow-minded idiots who believe every Muslim/Arab person is born a terrorist. I was there in 2010 when it had just begun. Definitely cool to see it almost completed, I hope to go back and see all of them once they are complete.
