can't help but think that this is gonna be the CS:S to Half Life (ep)3. Like, this gets released to debut the new engine and whack bugs in the back end and then HLnext is released.
Sorry but I think I'll just skip L4D3. I'm pretty tired of zombie games in general- unless L4D3 does something radically different than the other two games, it probably won't be worth it for me.
I don't understand everyones obession with FoV. Every game I play, I never even care to notice. Is it motion sickness or something like that?
The brain expects a certain amount of consistent perspective/ peripheral at all times. When you have a screen with an image that's calibrated to be seen at 12 feet away, and you're two feet away, there's going to be a serious discontinuity that causes extreme eyestrain and sickness. I do not get motion sickness, but I could never play Halo PC/ Borderlands 1 with their default FOV because it would ruin my eyes. Think about the screen as a window into the shooter environment. What would you expect to see on the other end? A giant hand taking up half the screen, or a regular sized hand roughly the size of yours in a position that's about where yours would be? A low FOV is the eye's equivalent of a straight jacket.
I'd totally go for a Left 4 Dead like they originally had planned Big sprawling maps (I'd love to see loading screens taken out and just have streamless maps) with more of a sandbox approach to play. Give you an objective, like "Get to Mercy Hospital", and then let you explore on your own. Safehouses could still be in, but instead of making them segways for the maps just have them be rooms where you can restock supplies.

What a fucking douche. Like, Valve is that lenient with people, and this is what they get back.
Username fits.
We already knew this.

L4D3? Won't people ever get tired of all this zombie shooter game shit? It's honestly been old and overdone for a couple years now
-snip-
L4D3? Won't people ever get tired of all this zombie shooter game shit? It's honestly been old and overdone for a couple years now
L4D is a fantastic game to play with friends. I'm guessing that's why the game isn't for you?
L4D3? Won't people ever get tired of all this zombie shooter game shit? They're technically not even zombies, even.
For four years they have been waiting... Now it has finally begun.
Reminds me that I boycotted L4D2 so hard that I pre-ordered a few days before the release.
L4D and L4D2 is the most fun I've ever had in a co-op game. Looking forward to L4D3.
Reminds me that I boycotted L4D2 so hard that I pre-ordered a few days before the release.
reminds me of every cod boycott where every single user is playing that boycotted call of duty
L4D3? Won't people ever get tired of all this zombie shooter game shit? It's honestly been old and overdone for a couple years now
The feeling when chopping a zombie's limb of is amazing.
L4D3? Won't people ever get tired of all this zombie shooter game shit? It's honestly been old and overdone for a couple years now
More infected types, new official maps, and a new engine seem pretty good for a new entry in the series
that's not really left 4 dead
It's not l4d 1 or 2 but it could easily be l4d3.
Who are you saying sorry to?
It's more of a saying than an actual apology, but if you wanna be literal it would be directed at Valve.
that's not really left 4 dead
well we don't want L4D2-2
that's not really left 4 dead
Everyone complains that L4D2 is too much like L4D1 and came out too soon. Now L4D3 comes out after much more time and could possibly be significantly different and some people will still complain. I want to see what Valve could to to remix the formula with some new engine technology. Let's hope for bigger maps, more AI, better graphics, etc.
If they could top their dismemberment; like being able to chip a zombie down to nothing and keep them damagable even after they've gone ragdoll... or have it actually affect the zombies where instead of them just dropping when you shoot a leg off, they start crawling. you know, the regular stuff. Shit, imagine being able to dismember special infected too... damn man. To see a tank get torn to shreds by your weapons to the point where it just looks like a bunch of apple cores strung together when it drops. I want to play that l4d.

I don't blame them, because I thought that too. I guess gamers are all too used to rehashed sequels that original sequels isn't something that comes up in our heads until someone mentions it
As long as Hammer is 100x better than what it was before with a better UI and shit I'll be satisfied [editline]7th August 2013[/editline]
that's not really left 4 dead
The source engine wasn't capable of having bigger maps and a sandbox approach, hence why they had a straight forward direction on where to go with safe houses there just so the map could load and show player stats

(for me, at least.) although i only use the toolbars on the left and right and never touched the top one except for a few times. :v:
Guys, I tried looking up the guy who posted both of the messages about L4D3, Ted Carson. I found nothing on him. Like, there is one Ted Carson involved with games but he was involved with Tabletop Tennis at Rockstar. I tried searching for a Carson here: http://www.valvesoftware.com/company/people.html but there's no Carson there. tldr; it's all a conspiracy
Plot twist: Valve is only trolling us by putting a file named "Left 4 Dead 3" on the computer, when it's actually just a decoy.
