I hope they don't stop doing tours because of this.
I hope they don't stop doing tours because of this.
they will
L4D is a fantastic game to play with friends. I'm guessing that's why the game isn't for you?
I did play it with friends. Even with modding, it got boring in like a week.
L4D is a fantastic game to play with friends. I'm guessing that's why the game isn't for you?
Oh, gee, I guess it's okay to go right into name calling when someone disagrees with you about a video game. User experience may differ, and for me, I could never get into L4D co-op, singleplayer, or otherwise, it's just the same old shit about killing zombies.
If they could top their dismemberment; like being able to chip a zombie down to nothing and keep them damagable even after they've gone ragdoll... or have it actually affect the zombies where instead of them just dropping when you shoot a leg off, they start crawling. you know, the regular stuff.
Too many times have I been assaulted by a zombie with no arms
So what do we think, free to play?
that's a dick move, to take pictures of confidential emails and post them on the internet
Then they probably should have made sure no one was taking pictures while walking them through the office.
L4D3 Free To Play game you heard it here first folks
Maybe it's because I'm running the ~Australian~ version, but combat in L4D has always felt a bit weak to me. There's no real 'collision' with zombies and it feels it doesn't matter where bullets impact on zombies.
You don't really need larger maps for source games.
Have you ever even tried dogfighting in gm_flatgrass?
I hope they don't stop doing tours because of this.
All it did was renew faith in fans that Valve is actually working on something besides TF2 hats, Steampipe, and Dota 2.
I wish for Source 2 to support procedurally generated infinite maps

Get that in your head and go to bed. Nuff said. But seriously, I think the biggest improvement would be to make a zombie not be able to hit you with a limb that's been shot off. That was a bit ridiculous.

Don't know if the code could be ever released.
The only reason I'm not pleased with this announcement is because it's not Half-Life 3. Yeah, it's childish but come on!
The only reason I'm not pleased with this announcement is because it's not Half-Life 3. Yeah, it's childish but come on!
Do you ever consider that it might piss people at VALVE off a little that whenever they do ANYTHING, SOMEBODY goes "why the FUCK isnt this HL3" [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] We dont know how far along HL3 is into development, if they havent shown yet, its probably not down to the point where no major changes will be made. Remember the HL2 beta?
Do you ever consider that it might piss people at VALVE off a little that whenever they do ANYTHING, SOMEBODY goes "why the FUCK isnt this HL3"
Yeah, it probably does. And I acknowledge that. It's childish, and people really shouldn't. Patience is a virtue, yeah all that lot. It's still frustrates me. But they can take they're time I guess. We've waited 6 years, we can wait 4 more tops. Beyond 10 years is just agony.
Beyond 10 years is borderline officially cancelled and buried.
I had a friend who emailed Gaben after Left 4 Dead 2, asking if they had an Asian character in L4D3 if they would name the character after him (Daniel). Gabe said he would definitely do it if they made another Left 4 Dead, assuming they had an Asian character. Guess we'll see..
As long as I can get my Valve gameplay and storytelling fix I don't care if it's HL3 or not.
I wish I was excited for this but I just know that when I boot it up and start playing on a server i'll get votekicked half-way through the campaign for no reason.
If this is true and valve announces l4d3 before hl3, I'm done. I'M FUCKING DONE.
Wow, that'll show them!
I wish I was excited for this but I just know that when I boot it up and start playing on a server i'll get votekicked half-way through the campaign for no reason.
I don't know why but when it comes to votekicking, the L4D playerbase is just retarded. I was playing it hours ago and some dude got mad at me when I told him that he was a goner since he was hanging around behind a point of no return and got incapped, and the next map he tried to kill me. I shot him, and the two other players joined in but everybody still voted no when I started a votekick. I can't imagine what, if anything, is going through these peoples heads at the time. I just cant.
The person who took this really didn't understand the implications of doing so. Wasn't it in Portal 2 : The Last Hours that talked about how Cave Johnson's character got leaked, and they had half the mind just to trash the character right then and there? This could very well cause some disruption among the devs Also the voting system definitely needs to be improved. It's a major portion that enables a shit community.
Bring on Portal 3. Too soon?
I think the most important thing to take from this is that there's somebody called Charlie Brown that works for Valve.
Not as cool as Pat Cockburn
all this does is confirm the existence of an internal l4d2 test build on source 2/potential l4d sequel how is that even comparable
idk it made sense when I thought about it, no so much now that I had breakfast
As long as the new engine has dynamic occlusion I'll be a happy mother fucker. Edit: Oh and a blend shader that supports more than two colour maps. Edit: And a fix for that damn annoying translucent texture glitch (i.e. when you look at a fence behind another fence).
