I don't think their internal changelog is a public website

It's an intranet site, you can't access it from outside their network.
Okay, okay. I wasn't aware that intranet stuff could be given domain names part of an already-public URL. I was assuming it would've just been behind a login prompt like Nintendo's dev network is.
tbh I'd prefer a L4D3 Episode 3 would be nice, but I'd put way more hours into L4D3 and have way more fun
hl3 has just turned into a 'damn if you do, damn if you dont' kind of thing, where if they make it, everyones going to bitch that they waited x amount of years and it wasnt the best game of all time, and if they dont, people are just going to bitch on every dota 2/tf2/l4d2 update ever about putting more people on hl3 and old meme jokes
I wonder what the 5th column is. [editline]6th August 2013[/editline] (in the product list)
If those columns represent Valve's most updated or important software, probably TF2 (though I'm sure plenty of people will assume it's HL3)
Maybe that 5th column is for Fart Cops?
someones in shit
I've always read that Valve tours are dead serious about the no cameras policy, these guys must have been some crafty dumb motherfuckers.
-proven wrong, apparently it's an intern-
I... Am completely and totally alright with this.
If this is true and valve announces l4d3 before hl3, I'm done. I'M FUCKING DONE.
Get ready to be done.
If those columns represent Valve's most updated or important software, probably TF2 (though I'm sure plenty of people will assume it's HL3)
What about CSGO? It seems like if either TF2 or CSGO have a column, they should both have a column. But there's only one column :tinfoil:
This guy isn't in the Valve group, so I don't think he'd know anything about whether ReaverXai (or whoever took the photos) signed an NDA: http://steamcommunity.com/id/splinks/groups/
he is a intern at valve ok
part of me wants this instead of half life 3 because I know I'll put a lot more hours into this than I will with HL3 but the other side of me wants HL3 because it's Hl3 [editline]6th August 2013[/editline] also holy shit l4d2 was almost 4 years ago
Wow, no "HL3 CONFIRMED!!11!?" Facepunch, I am proud
I want half life 3. Half life 3 has SO much more to offer to the table than a 4 player, shitty zombie co-op game ever will that we've seen twice already. Look at Half life, and Half life 2, and all of the games, and mods they spawned that branch off from it. The community needs a new half life, that can easily be modified into its own game. Multiplayer source mod scene has pretty much stopped.
They're probably doing what they did with Linux, they quality tested Left4dead 2 at the time before releasing anything so my guess would be quality control at best and it looks like Half-Life 3 might be somewhat finished if they're ready to make a new Left4dead game.
he is a intern at valve ok
Oh really? In that case, my mistake.
Its bannable now, thats why its never posted
Woah what I swear it was being used in a thread not too long ago; no one really seemed to care too much
I thought it was only bannable in the Half Life discussion thread in the Valve forum section.
I hope L4D3 doesn't feel like some DLC pack for Left 4 Dead 2.
From what you just described, the community needs Source 2, not HL3 :v: In all seriousness I hope they release source 2 as a standalone engine kinda like UDK or CryEngine 3 and have an accessible indie dev royalty based fee of some kind.
It does need source 2, but it needs to be given through half life 3, because that gives the modder actual models to use, maps they can look at/understand, props, weapons, player models, NPCs, basic scripted/animations. What made moding with half life and half life 2 (source engine), so great was that it came with a large set of prefabs, pre-built assets that could easily be re-worked. [editline]6th August 2013[/editline]
You'll get episode 3 eventually, you just need to be very patient. Very... ... patient.
No episodes, full game. I really dont care about the story anymore. Its been so long since that cliff-hanger ive lost interest almost. Want I do want to see though is all the growth it will bring to the modding community. I find more enjoyment from the mods made around their core games, than the actual games themselves.
I would be lying if i said that i wouldn't buy the shit out of Left 4 Dead 3. But at the same time, i would be disappointed if it wasn't Half-Life 3/Episode 3 to come out next.
Even though Source 2 was already confirmed, I'm rather angry that someone broke NDA. I hope Valve sues him to no end. This will lower what tours can see and also have Valve be more restrictive.
Just because it's called episode 3 doesn't mean that it has to be the length of an episode, it can be of any length. And even if it was only 4 hours long, does it really matter if it ends up being the best 4 hours of your life?

Episode 3/Half-Life 3 won't see the light of day until Source 2 does. And this tells us that Left 4 Dead 3 will be the game they demo Source 2 with, as they demoed Source with the Half Life 2 beta. If they follow their usual formula and do it with the Left 4 Dead 3 beta to demo Source 2, it'll be a couple of years. I'm basing this off the fact that they're porting things to tweak the hit boxes. Once we see Left 4 Dead 3 make the light day, we can get excited because Valve will probably push Episode 3/Half-Life 3 into production. These things, they take time.
Actually, The first proper game on the Source engine was Day of Defeat: Source. Great game, I hope for a sequel on the Source 2 engine.
