Honestly there's been enough time, L4D3 would be nice now.
Oh yeah, but surely there's been long enough between Half-life games? Not saying I wouldn't buy a third L4D game though.

Especially when it's my most beloved franchise.

Maybe they could implement a story this time around. Or make some survivors that are likeable (Francis, Louis) Or keep up with their promised content support.

L4D2 is quite possibly the only game where Valve made what is arguably a shitty character.
l4d3 had already been leaked a while ago
Does that mean that there wont be any more "Valve cannot count to 3" jokes

I've never been one to complain, just making a point.
All of L4D1's cast was perfectly likable though. L4D2 is quite possibly the only game where Valve made what is arguably a shitty character.
the only problem i've with l4d2 cast is rochelle, she's such a bland survivor. francis takes the spot for the best one, imo.
Something that interests me is how there's [Source 2] before Left 4 Dead 3. Which means L4D3 is the test product for Source 2... which then makes me ask how they're gonna reveal this thing.
So this fake site got something right? http://l4d3.ru
.ru? Is that the count down until it's cracked?
Left 4 Dead 3? Yes please. Co-op has never been so fun. I wish for more guns, maybe 5 variations MINIMUM to all types like in CS. For any of you saying too many is too much, I say: variation is the spice of life. Left 4 Dead LIVES on these words, thus more tools of death means more spice. Seriously, do people have a problem with a big amount of guns? Not as an argument, but a question. Also I'm fascinated to see what becomes of carriers. They literally spread death so they have to either contain themselves, be contained or shot.
L4D got the Survival pack DLC, Crash Course and The Sacrifice. Left 4 Dead 2 got The Passing and The Sacrifice and all the maps from the first one. The reason why the games get less DLC like TF2 is simple. The outlay is too high. It takes ages to develop a long and atmospheric map campaign and it ain't as easy making a simple map like in TF2. Valve has also said on some day in 2010 I think, when they released free DLC for L4D that they considered to ask for money because developing the stuff takes too much money and time. And if you look at the games you can just see that there is a lot more detail and stuff that needs to be put into L4D maps than in the comic, less detailed and short maps in TF2. You begin one map, but only 1 minute in you completely forget what was in the beginning. All the work seems wasted because you need to get from A to B. The normal campaigns last aprox. 50 minutes until you reach the end.
Way more excited for L4D than HL3 Fucking fight me
Way more excited for L4D than HL3 Fucking fight me
Wow you're so fucked
i still sorta want closure for half life never was much of a fan of l4d, although did always follow the story
Imagine if L4D3 ended up being Valve's take on the DayZ-genre hype.
This is one of those things I meant with they can't add anything substantial without changing the formula. A DayZ-Em-Up would be way too slow-paced and tactical (with the occasional frantic situations) while L4D is wading through a stream of zombies while resupplying on the go. That pace also doesn't leave room for, say, weapons customization, since you'll be switching out empty weapons very frequently and inbetween safe houses there are rarely breather moments for the group to fiddle around in menus a bit before the AI Director gets bored and unleashes another horde. The only thing I could think of is improvised weaponry/organic environmental interaction, kind of like how the Gravity Gun allowed you to take most objects and throw them around. Without that thing tho, you need to worry about whole new sets of animations for each objects, which might make the whole concept just not worth the effort. Tho running away with zombies and throwing over shelves to block their way does sound kinda neat.
FP will destroy you

I heard everyone and their cat had problem with L4D2's mod delivery system, so I thought that was the problem. edit: muh merge
Well it seems I'm more excited to see source 2 itself than L4D3 currently. I imagine that L4D3 will probably be alright though.
My automerge [editline]6th August 2013[/editline] Again??
L4d2 was excusable but this will (could) be the third left 4 dead they've released without a word of half life 3 or it's equivalent.
Haven't you said this a million times already? "If Valve doesn't show HL3 at E3, i'm done" "If Valve doesn't show HL3 at gamescon, i'm done" "If Valve doesn't show HL3 at PAX i'm done" I've literally heard people say all of the above, I should TOXX them.
It's gotten to the point where I've been waiting for 6 years and I'm not even excited for Half-Life 3 anymore after all false calls of its release. Oh well, anything new from Valve is good so I'm looking forward to L4D3. :v:
I'm okay with a new Left 4 Dead, I just want a new game from Valve that isn't a deathmatch or strategy game. As good a game that Dota 2 may be, the genre of game just doesn't interest me, and CSGO was very much CSS with updated visuals and weapons, whilst that's not a bad thing, it just wasn't enough to keep me playing it.
I can imagine the outcry if Valve released/announced L4D3 before half life 3 was released.
As long as they make and release HL3 within the next 10 years that will scrape together every fucking GotY award available with absolute ease, I'm fine with that.
Remember when the mention of L4D3 being released before HL3 was a humorous quip. How times change.
