Before today—literally the moment before you started reading this sentence—the only way you could enjoy matchmaking on your computer was through dating sites. That got us thinking. What if you took the promise of dating site matchmaking, and, instead of getting matched up based on Snapchat's face-reshaping filters and lies about how much you love hiking, it was based on your actual real-face dating performance?
http://www.teamfortress.com/meetyourmatch/
I've spent over a thousand hours in tf2 and love it to bits but this feels like it came way too late.

The vid for it is kind of hillarious
Do you guys think matchmaking a feature now instead of a hindrance?
The most important news report of today. [sp]if you are a TF2 fan[/sp]
Wait .. I thought the topscore in competitive was used to detect hackers in TF2.
I'm still pissed off at what valve did to TF2, Introducing quick play making the endless 2Fort instant respawn shitfest servers popular while similtaniously killing off all the major communties the game had. Matchmaking? so it's now turning into CSGO where people play for a rank and get fucking toxic and salty over their stats instead of playing for fun.
did people actually want matchmaking in tf2?
did people actually want matchmaking in tf2?
Sharing a negative opinion about it on reddit tells me yes.
Too little too late to be honest. I think most people who have ever had interest in tf2 have moved on now.
Something tells me the amount of people who feel genuinely excited for this and nothing else is equal to Battleborn's total playerbase.
I stopped playing tf2 like 4 years ago, this might get me back into it.
did people actually want matchmaking in tf2?
Actually yeah, I've seen more than a fair few people excited about it, and people who have since stopped playing TF2 talking about coming back for this.

Quickplay just accelerated that process.
The vid for it is kind of hillarious
I'm really more interested in a TF2 animated series on Adult Swim than the actual game at this point.
This would've rocked my fucking world in 2012 As it stands I will always love aTF2s art character and humor but the actual game and I are long separated Community is terrible and there's only so much of one game you can play I have like 2000 hours I regret nothing but I ain't getting pulled back in
Meanwhile rd_asteroid and pl_cactuscanyon are still in beta for a long time.
Is that happening? Because i would watch the hell out of that
No because Valve can't keep a schedule. Not a joke, that is literally the reason why it's not happening.
I don't think they did this right. They just jammed in some matchmaking and a ranking system without thinking about making the shit work well in context of the game. My problem is that weapons in TF2 are drops, crafts, microtransactions, and achievement rewards. If you see a Pyro with a backburner the only way to get one yourself aside from those ways is to kill that Pyro and pick it up off their corpse. In CSGO, all you've got to do is buy it the next round (or if you for some reason use a CZ or R8 you can get a teammate to drop you one and trade them weapons). Locking shit behind walls in the competitive mode is a bad idea, especially when there's so many reskins and weapons in the game now. If you see someone playing as a Pyro and you're Spying and you're thinking to yourself "oh boy I could use a Dead Ringer instead of this Cloak and Dagger" and you don't have it, you can't exactly switch to it and it puts you at a disadvantage. tl;dr they really should just let you pick all weapons (and tbh probably remove reskins and shit to make it more new-player friendly) when playing comp.
So they made it Overwatch.

Get a drop, don't like it? Trade it for a weapon you want. Websites like scrap.tf make it even easier.
Is that happening? Because i would watch the hell out of that
No, because Valve can't keep up with an animated series' rhythm. You know, valve time and shit.
So they made it Overwatch.
More like they made it CS:GO.
No, because Valve can't keep up with an animated series' rhythm. You know, valve time and shit.
Reason for this is that despite their excellent animating and writing for the shorts, people don't realize how much time and ressources only a short takes up because so much stuff is cut out, redone or simply thrown away. Especially hard, considering that TF2 relies on a rather well crafted humour instead of lol-randumb shit like so many others. Because of this, several scenes have to be redone and rewritten all the time, which is why Expiration Date took such a long time to be made.

I sold all my stuff in tf2 to get Saints Row the Third. maaaaaaaaybe I'll get back in. Maybe.
I haven't played TF2 in about 7 months. For the most part, TF2 stopped being fun after the Unknown Assassins custom Mario cart server I liked because it was so casual and objective-less went offline. I still had a little fun playing 2Fort and sniping heavies from the sewers, but the community I loved was already gone after the F2P update happened. Most of the fun casual players and servers stopped playing TF2. I've recently thought about trying to install it on the guest computer I use at the moment, for old time's sake. Have fun headshotting machina snipers and seeing kids flip their shit. But I don't think so.
So wait how do I start playing? I don't see the option for it anywhere
