I didn't need to sea that, but thanks anyways.
Still makes me wonder why we're so eager to explore space when we don't even know most of the creatures on our own planet

It looks delicious.

It's a whale condom, move along people nothing to see here.
It looked like a parachute for a second...

Nah, it's fleshy coloured and why would a parachute have some mad ass hexagonal pattern on it?

Spot on as always. (Think you have the binomial backwards though)
On a related note, Oceaneering ROV's are pretty cool.

(Skip to 1:16 if you don't want to see the silly intro)
Oil industry uses them pretty much on a daily basis to check their wells and pipes. They occasionally discover new stuff with them too and other oddities that float by like this guy.

As it turns out, whales are not very good helpers.

You're right. I just copied and pasted it from one of the articles. Proper name is: Deepstaria enigmatica. I'll go fix it.
It's another SCP, CONTAIN IT

That tail thing at the end does look kinda like a barnacle...
Oh god, the final boss of Ep 3 is a barnacle attached to a giant flying cybernetic jellyfish/net/sheet thing
It's the only logical explanation
Seriously though, few things from the deep sea scare me. I'm fine with anglerfish and all of those other weird-ass toothy fish. I'm fine with vampire squids.
But weird-ass shit like this? Creeps me out.
The one that scares me the most is some species of sea angel that I saw on an episode of Planet Earth. The thing that set it aside from other species is that that one had eyes. They weren't even normal shaped eyes, either, they were football shaped. The creature was transparent.
And then there's stuff that's basically evidence that we've found Cthulhu, like this:

Quite a beauitful specimen, alive or dead!
It's another SCP, CONTAIN IT
I was half expecting it to produce teeth and latch onto the camera, cracking the lens before the signal was lost..
I can't decide whether I be terrified or fascinated by it.
Looks like shedded skin, but what kind of a creature would shed skin like that?
I want a real life Kraken
Nah, it's fleshy coloured and why would a parachute have some mad ass hexagonal pattern on it?
Some parachutes have that design for more strength in the material.
Looks like some really dragged out jellyfish.
It doesn't look that weird.

Maybe it's not from this planet?

Looks more like a shogoth to me.
Anyways deep sea stuff has always managed to both fascinate and terrify me (I guess its a fear of the unknown :tinfoil:) and this ocean bedspread is no different.
