I liked the PSP personally especially the game where you are a some sort of smiling sack and go through levels and you grow bigger as you eat more things. cant recall the name my brother has it and it was fun to have on aboard, when waiting in airport or whatever

I loved that game!! I think it's the only game that I played with my PSP though :frown:
LOCO ROCO!!!! I loved that game!! I think it's the only game that I played with my PSP though :frown:
Yes! Loco Roco! It was very fun! I don't think I ever played any other game either, didn't really look forward to. But I'm not sure I think my brother sold the PSP. I sure as fuck hope not if we are going on a vacation next summer with an airplane or whatever.
PSP2? but i already have the PSP 3000.
That's the thing I hated about handheld devices. Why couldn't they just make it a controller with a screen attached? Instead, they have no analog sticks and only stupid arrow keys. About time these guys bought some sense.
If it got 2 sticks I'm buying it, if not then no way in hell.
So Sony rips off even more ideas from other companies and tries to pass it as original.
At least its entire library won't consist of watered down kiddy shit.
Source: http://kotaku.com/5742423/the-first-official-shot-of-the-psp2 [img_thumb]http://www.kotaku.jp/gallery/upload_files/110125_psp2_499.jpg[/img_thumb] It looks legit to me. Sony is expected to reveal it later this month anyway, so we'll know really soon whether it's real or not. It's likely that it is, and it's also very likely that Sony will have yet another device leaked before a conference (PS3 slim).
I find pretty funny the fact they've been forced to allow the use of SD cards, since nobody buys Memory Sticks anymore :v:
yay another failed handheld
Touch screen. No.
If theres one thing i hate more than forced use of motion controls, its FUCKING touch screens with those fucking little pens.
I hope Dark_Alex gets his hands on one so we have another great homebrew scene
I thought I read somewhere he gave up hacking? I might be mistaken. I really love my current psp I got it used at gamestop for 100 bucks and after putting 5.50 gen on it its so worth it. Hopefully with the psp 2 once its hacked I can play Final Fantasy X on it
It looks like a Go. It has the same trade-offs as a Go. Chances are.... It's an upgraded Go, and even if that's the case, this isn't the official release.
The Go is a great system now that homebrew works almost seamlessly on it. It feels good in your hands too, it would make sense than they'd use that design for the next PSP.
Honestly even if this were real, I still wouldn't get it. PSP was boring as hell, I'd rather save up for the new DS.
The only thing that allows the 360 to run current gen games (or any other console for that matter) is that games are designed specifically to run on that platform. With PC's the designers don't know what specs they'll be running with particularly so they have to domb down the game so it will run on the dichotomy of systems. The 360 is much cheaper because it only has a 3.2 GHz PowerPC Tri-Core Xenon, 512 MB of GDDR3 RAM clocked at 700 MHz, and a 500 MHz ATI Xenos GC. My PC or laptop by comparison would blow it out of the water, but games are designed specifically to run EXACTLY on a 3.2 ghz PPC, 512 MB of ram and a 500 Mhz ATI Xenos. They are optimized to run on that system with that exact configuration. The 360 also eliminates overhead because games are the only thing running, no OS, anti virus, etc. [editline]25th January 2011[/editline] Point, a smaller Res could allow it to run better, but still, I think, with battery life, price and others, I don't see it being PS3 powerful.
Do you even know what dichotomy means?
http://kotaku.com/comment/36074747/ Uh guys its fake.
This. Sorry to burst the bubble.
I'm so fucking getting this when it comes out. It better run UMDs though. There are still a ton of games out there that aren't in the PSN store, such as the best PSP series ever: Monster Hunter.
This Monster Hunter is all I play on the PSP nowadays
I was hoping for
This is a terrible idea. I'm a big fan of the original model PSP, but Sony botched the past few years in terms of marketing and timing of software. Now Nintendo has gotten everyone riled up about the stupid 3DS which people are going to buy like hotcakes. If Sony releases a PSP2 it will be slaughtered on the market no matter how good it is and we'll be stuck with Nintendo's shovelware-for-everybody marcketing scheme.
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/285161/news/codies-psp2-is-as-powerful-as-ps3-/ Can't wait for CFW on it. Homebrew stuff would be great if its as powerful as they say.
Well I for one, will not be buying this. Nor will I be buying a 3DS. Waste of money to be honest, I never play games on the go, and even if I did, I could get Angry Birds on my Nexus S and that would be suffice. Honestly, getting a dedicated console just to game on the go is silly when we're in the age of smartphones and such.

They are doing a PSP phone if I am not mistaken which focuses on the "gaming" aspect as you would put it, with the benefits of having the ability to use it as a phone without having to drag around 2 separate devices. I'm not saying that gaming is going to be a major aspects on phones in the future (such as battery life and such holding it back), but it is sure looking like it.
Idiots itt saying they are ripping off nintendo [editline]25th January 2011[/editline]
I was hoping for [img_thumb]http://www.cellaz.com/photos/news/1985.jpg[/img_thumb]
agree
I hope Dark_Alex gets his hands on one so we have another great homebrew scene
I hope you realise he quit 3 years ago.
/c WHY IS IT NEVER BADAGE WHEN THE TITLE REEKS OF BADAGE?!?! WHY!!!!!!!
I want UMD's back.
Now it just needs good games
Head of Sony: Okay guys, our first handheld sold exceptionally well and almost everybody either liked or was indifferent about the UMD format! Sony Employees:Great! so we're going back to the UMD format for the next PSP so there's backwards compatibility? Head of Sony: What are you, nuts? We're going to completely ditch it so people will have to buy BOTH to play both types of games! Sony Employees: ...
