This has probably already been answered, but it's generally because people don't understand that the Google search bar in the top-right is Google. I know a [b]lot[/b] of people who when they get on the computer at the campus I go to, when they load up the Internet, they'll type "Google" into the Google search bar and hit enter, to get to the main Google page.
Don't ask me why.

I always Google "Youtube" to go to YouTube. Why? Because putting in .com is an extra four characters, and those characters require effort to type. Clicking one link is a lot less effort.

Who the fuck googles "google" or "youtube" aren't their URLs fairly obvious?
Clearly the statistics are flawed. Most of the "porn" and "sex" searches are probably from parents who used their child's account or installed the spyware on their own accounts.
How can these people distinguish whether the people searching are kids or not?

I spent much of my childhood playing soccer, riding my bike and exploring the mountains of eastern Kentucky. Hell I didn't even start to think about porn until well into the 8th grade (when I was 13.) Well I think it was 8th, could've been 9th.
